The five best westerns in chronological order: Stagecoach (1939) High Noon (1952) Rio Bravo (1959) Once Upon a Time in the West (1968) Unforgiven (1992) There's about a hundred more that are up there but I think those five are a pretty good consensus. Give or take a few dozen. Edit: I already realized I forgot The Searchers (1956). And Shane (1953). But that's what I meant about there being hundreds.

My Western picks are: The Wild Bunch (1969) The Magnificent 7 (1960) They Call Me Trinity (1970) Silverado (1985) Cat Ballou (1965) Keep up the great reactions!!!

Damn it, Shanelle! Just kidding. I'm excited for this one. Looking forward to the end of the work day now.

Kevin - I'd like to put in a plug for "Old Henry" too, a rare entry in an increasingly rare genre of the new....

Some recent Westerns, the Bale/Crowe 3:10 to Yuma, Appaloosa, and for something a bit different, a good Comedy Western, A Million Ways to Die in the West.

After this one, my favorite western picks would be: High Noon (Gary Cooper and Grace Kelly) Rio Bravo (John Wayne, Dean Martin, Ricky Nelson, & Angie Dickinson) Johnny Guitar Magnificent Seven (1960) Once Upon a Time in the West (technically a spaghetti western, but where else do we get Henry Fonda as a villain?)

Same in regards to watching Celtic Woman videos. Looks like everyone has Westerns covered so I'll throw in Maverick because it is fun imo.

I think you should do Hateful 8 and Unforgiven more for the reason it's Tarantino and Eastwood than a western. You could also do Young Guns and Young Guns 2 for westerns. Since you were talking about the Bill of Rights, I took my research in a little different direction. The time period for this movie was around 1880 and Arizona didn't become a state until 1912. I didn't research how the Bill of Rights affects a place that is not a part of the U.S. I recognized Billy Bob Thornton by voice, but did have to double check the credits to make sure it was him.

Billy Bob is Johnny "Madcap" Tyler, the dealer at the Orient who Wyatt confronts in such epic fashion. I love Tarantino, but if there's a movie of his I'll pass on, it's Hateful 8. I'm sure others will disagree, but something about the script writing and the way the story hangs just really never connected with me. I'm going to go a little bit different route. So many of the above are classics, and you can't go wrong with them so here's a path to travel when looking for something in the style, but perhaps an alternate flavor: Westworld (1973) Rango (2011) - Animated City Slickers (1991) Old Henry (2021) Keep up the great reaction and commentary, Shan. Come for the movie, stay for the company and discussion.

this movie is kinda cheezy, but its extremely enjoyable. "Im your huckberry"

Adding my vote to "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly."

I've always wanted to see Cat Ballou and see why Lee Marvin, the Badass of Badasses, got an Oscar for this comedic performance. Shan watching it would seal the deal and make me finally try it!
