Hi everyone,

Venom #254 drops on February 11 , here's the preview with some sketches attached.

Work has been insane lately, basically non-stop Venom mode. I barely have time for anything else, but I'll share more pages from this issue once it's out.

I've got some goodies backed up too, so I'll try to drop those next week (promise).

On a completely unrelated note... apparently I'm a Nazi now? 😅 Woke up to this whole mess because I liked a couple of White House posts on IG (yes, really). It snowballed so much that it even reached people I work with, and I got an email about it. So yeah, I had to clarify publicly.

Short version: not a Nazi, not pro-Trump or anti-Trump. Just a Spanish guy who likes drawing cool stuff and who prefers to stay far away from politics online from now on.

Anyway, hope your Tuesday is going way better than mine!

Enjoy the preview, and thanks for being here. Carlos

I believe that people can make mistakes. It’s our job as fans to decide whether or not to support someone who is in favor of this administration. I stopped listening to Disturbed ever since I saw the video of the singer signing IDF bombs. That being said, it’s also our job to educate people who aren’t fully aware of what’s happening here. Liking some posts is not an egregious offense and certainly not one worth ceasing support. It was a mistake and this feels very much overblown, but I do hope you learn more about what’s going on as more and more, politics have become harder to avoid here in the US. Anyways, I appreciate the amazing art you do man and I hope this doesn’t impact your relationships with Marvel and other comic book artists and writers.

I appreciate it, man. I wasn't fully aware of the situation and definitely didn't know it was so bad over there. It looks like a civil war, and I don't want to support anything that will make people suffer. Now I know more about i,t I see I should be more aware of my online interaction and what posts I like.

Me too, man. I'm glad you enjoyed the series, I had such a good time drawing it.

I always thought you lived here, over in California or something. I can understand how someone who doesnt live might not fully understand how hot things are here right now. I want you to know that Im not trying to sway you politically in any capacity. Im not. That wouldnt be right. But objectively speaking, things are pretty bad here. Really bad. I watched the president of my country buddy up to a man who shot sieg heils on national television. I watched him brag about launching an unauthorized military strike on Iran. I watched him brag about launching a military strike on Venezuelan fishermen and claim they were "drug runners." Ive watched my president send out an agency composed of masked bounty hunters who have gunned two unarmed US citizens in broad daylight. His administrations response to this is to call those killed "antagonists" and "terrorists". Because thats what we are by default to them. My point is, as I could keep going, is that it is very important for you to be fully educated on American politics right now so that you dont inadvertently get into trouble again. Im sure the email you got went over all of this anyway, but as someone who's supported you for years, I wanted to take the time tell you this as well. Just gotta keep it straight and narrow, thats all dude.

Hey, Thanks a lot for the message and for supporting me on Patreon for so long. It really means a lot. Yeah, you're right. I live in Madrid, Spain, not in the US. So I don't have the full picture of what's going on there. I don't follow US politics much. It's like something far away for me, and I had no idea it was so bad. People fighting federals, folks dying... it sounds like a civil war mess. When those posts popped up in my feed about deporting criminals who scam money, it seemed like a good idea at first. I didn't look deeper. I just assumed it was straightforward and positive. But headlines can be misleading without the whole story, and I shouldn't support stuff lightly without knowing what's really happening. It's hard to believe, but outside the US, our feeds aren't full of US politics. Mine is more about how my government sends money to keep trains running in other countries, while 70 people died in 3 train accidents in one week here because they don't invest in our own system. I get that people in the US might not know about that in Spain, just like I understand not everyone knows every detail of what's happening over there. There are things that hit me much closer to home, so I hope you understand why I can't keep up with everything in the US. But now that I see how complex it all is, I get it. I don't feel comfortable supporting any of that anymore. Thanks again for reaching out kindly and explaining. You're a good one. Let's keep focusing on the art and cool stuff.
