The REAL Problem With Snow White No One's Talking About

EVERYONE has made videos about Disney's New Live Action Snow White (2025) - but no one is actually talking about the movie's biggest problem. This is something that goes beyond bad hair styling, ugly costumes and terrible acting. This is about how the music in musical theatre is a manifestation of the heart and soul of a character - and how through this new music, Disney is perpetuating the harmful messages to young girls they are claiming they are progressing past. Join Calxiyn Cares Too Much for this Video Essay about Disney's failed attempts to "fix" the Disney Princesses, the extinction of the ingénue, and through that, the death of the sincerity that made Disney magical. 00:00 - What actually makes the Snow White remake so bad? 1:26 - How Disney ruins their own morals and messages 7:54 - Why is Snow White's music like this? 13:46 - Are ingénues not 'strong female characters'? 18:26 - Why can't we be Heroes AND Princesses? What's really shocking to me is that there actually aren't any articles exploring the topic of legit sopranos becoming scarce or if the Elphabization of belting is interwined with how women in musical theatre are written. If you look this up you'll find some interesting conversations on Reddit and Broadway World to read through, you'll also find threads titled things like "Is there still a place for sopranos in MT?" on other websites. I can't link to those websites because I can't vouch for the content on them, but I feel like this needs to be researched. We can't let the Coloratura Soprano's be abandoned to the past when we can bring them into the future instead!
