Hey Everyone!

I've been really pressed to try and get more videos out, but it seems that life likes throwing me on random adventures (or at least offering them), and recently I've been able to have a few very unique opportunities. So let me share with you what's been up!

First most recently I was invited by some people at Amtrak to join them on a tour of the East River Tunnel rehab project. This was incredibly cool, and I'm very thankful for the opportunity. I'll be writing up and producing a video on it sometime in the next week or so. I can't let this one lapse for too long because they're moving incredibly fast on the project and this tunnel should be completed by June!

Secondly, I was invited to tour some behind the scenes with Sound Transit. A few good friends allowed us to get a tour of their vehicle and ops facilities, along with an early preview of the 2 Line bridge. That is going to be made into a video sometime next week, and is also going to largely be a write-up about how we need more projects like this that are inspiring even to non-transit nerd people.

Either way, thanks for staying with me here and putting up with these schedule gaps. I'm hoping to now finally get back to cranking out videos. Both for the sake of making the channel come back alive, but also my income has been hurting recently (haven't we all... ugh).

Cheers,Alan Fisher

Super cool! Would love to see a note of all the ways transit benefits from the tunnel. Not just service consistency but time gains!

"We need more projects like this that are inspiring even to non-transit nerd people." Very much agree. When I talk to my Seattle friends about the new line, they are just so excited and happy they finally have a transit connection where they feel like they can visit other friends and family across the lake in Bellvue and beyond. It's a very tangible thing to them and as a bonus, the views while crossing the lake are amazing. (A modern pontoon bridge for a rail system is also just plain cool technologically!!)
