I hope that everyone has had a great holiday season and a happy new year. If you celebrate Chinese New years I also wish you a very fun next few weeks.

Anyway, a small update on how everything is going. This January I'm trying a different writing/editing tactic for videos, and I'm trying to get videos out every week to week and a half. The big projects probably aren't going to come out during this time, but they are still slowly being worked on in the background.

The Big projects include:- The BART video, which is going to have a similar vibe to the PATCO video. But its been delayed because of other smaller projects getting bumped in front of it

- A second larger Nationalization video. This one is going to be one of the largest projects this channel has ever seen, including art from many different friends of mine.

- Glassboro Camden Line. This one has been on the backburner forever, but I'm waiting for another in person meeting/event so that I can record NIMBYisms in person.

The Smaller projects that will come out soon are:- Rails to Trails (are they a good thing?)- Slept upon cities in the US (if you have suggestions write them in the comments below).

- A fun lighthearted model trains video that will be going on my second channel.

The Far Future:

I've been debating a lot on where I want this all to be a year or so out. There are some larger projects that require a ton of time and effort to plan, including some history documentaries on Rail vehicles that I'd love to shoot similar to Hagerty Icons video with the first one of that series on the Budd RDC.

Also in the future I could see myself opening a studio space somewhere here in Philadelphia that would act as a space for transit/planning advocacy discussions/meetings, along with being my office and space for shooting videos. (maybe also a model train layout 🤫). Either way I see myself trying to expand on what I'm capable of in the future.

Cheers,

Alan

I thought Spokane, Washington was nice when I was there for work 10 years ago and imagine it's better now

Some suggestions on slept-on cities (some if not most of these are probably already have these on the list). Allentown-Bethlehem-Easton, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Atlantic City, Hartford, New Haven, Norfolk VA, Lexington, and Louisville Kentucky, and St. Louis. Looking forward to seeing what could be done with a studio space! Perhaps an urbanist publication of some kind could also be housed there?

A shooting style similar to Hagerty would be killer. Some of the best produced content I've seen. As for slept upon cities, I think I have to nominate my hometown of Buffalo. I've been growing more annoyed with it recently, but it has some good bones (if terrible management)
