Hey! Here's a small update. I've been moved into my new place now for about a week so I'm trying to get my creative mood back on track. As you can see in the image posted this is the small white board that I had future videos ideas written on (scratch off the NS video...). I had to erase this when I moved so that's why I took a picture.

I'm planning on doing the Denver video next, unless I change my mind about it, but let me talk about that in a second.

I'm always interested in what y'all have in mind for video ideas, currently I'm looking for generalist ideas. Think similar to some of my past videos like The Electric Cars video or the Two Day shipping local Freight video. I'm looking for general ideas about transit, logistics or city planning that haven't been covered that much or need a video in my style on it.The hard part about picking a video subject is finding a favorable line between three things.

1. Me giving enough of a shit about the topic for it to make it through the writing/sourcing process2. Figuring out how to "market" the subject to normal people online so it doesn't flop views wise3. The subject/video generally taking under 2 weeks to write, source, maybe film and then edit

This is where I run into my problems, if you watched the second newest video (the Rails to Trails video) you'll notice that there's some new camera work incorporated in it; I'd love to do this for every video but time wise and logistics wise is against me in this aspect.I also want to create videos that are longer and have a ton more effort, editing, storyboarding and filming in them when it comes to topics that I care about the most (like Nationalization or doing a train history video), but again this would take way too long to be "profitable" in the normal sense with just YouTube.

This leaves me in a conundrum, I want to save some topics for these big projects but this leaves topics I care about less to be the ones that are shoved out in the door within a weeks time so that I can pay rent. I think that the Denver RTD video will be good and it'll be fun to edit, but its not the massive project on my favorite topic that I actually want to be working on...

Anyway, that's enough complaining from me. Again, let me know what video topics you think might fit my three rules well being a general urbanist topic to talk about.

Cheers,Alan

P.S. if you have any questions about the topics on the white board you can ask too

I watched your bench chat video recently and the part of doing a video on cars intrigued me. In the past year I've grown to be more urbanist than car guy, but I also believe car enthusiasts and urbanists can work coexist. That's my generalist suggestion and I'd love to hear your opinion on the matter, especially continuing that train of thought from that video.

One of my larger projects in the future is doing a video on how many car enthusiast and urbanists are actually on the same team. I see that video taking like a month to do, also I'd love to get some car youtubers involved in that one

I'm interested in what the tiny homes video might be about 🤔

Ooh, that sounds like a really cool video, and not something I see talked about really, like at all :D

As a Coloradan I’m excited to see what you I store for Denver whether it’s good or bad. Thank you for all your work and time for these videos!

I'm super excited about a potential Brightline video.

The tiny home video would either be a land use video in disguise or comparing them to just building an apartment building
