Transport protocol five was a program in every Starfleet vessel’s transporter systems whose purpose was to remove weapons during the transport process. Outside of wartime or in combat, deactivation was favored first, then removal, unless the parties beaming aboard were enemies who were likely to actually use those weapons immediately. As the technology was well known to me, it had not been terribly difficult to design countermeasures that prevented the program from working on my weapons or those of my crew. An alien technology, one that may work on different principles, well, that would be a tossup. I had had to disable my anti-transport field to even allow myself to be transported aboard.

Transporter

The transporter was a type of teleportation machine, or simply teleporter. It was a subspace device capable of almost instantaneously transporting an object from one location to another, by using matter-energy conversion to transform matter into energy, then beam it to or from a chamber, where it was reconverted back or materialize into its original pattern.

Does this only work on energy weapons or all weapons, also I think this has been bypassed before I think in a tng episode a disruptor was broken up into individual parts but was easly put back together I believe

We only saw it work on energy weapons in the shows I believe. And there was that one early episode with those two klingons that had a holdout weapon in pieces hidden in their armor. That wasn't caught. I'd certainly hope they'd learn from that security failure to prevent it from happening again...but this is Star Trek so that might be too big an ask.
