A little hint as to where my mind (and writing) is at for chapter 11.  Do any of you recognize what this is and what series and episode it comes from?  :-)

that's from TNG season 1 - episode 21 The Arsenal of Freedom

100% correct, chapter and verse. I'm unsurprised one of our Fleet Admiral's recognized this right away. My question to you folks, is how would you like me to handle this. Unfortunately, with Gothic needing to hide his foreknowledge, he has to be alone for all this, so I can't exactly get a lot of dialog in. His ship also lacks a transporter and he has a limited cargo bay, but as we all know, there is a lot of looting potential on Minos. I'm open to ideas! :-)

I would love it to see Gothic going there and looting and getting technology to learn from and adapt for his own uses, as some of the technology there is beyond the Federation. and while he is there he can "coincidentally" just run into the Enterprise crew

That's exactly what I was planning, I'm just struggling with ensuring it's realistic and fits the situation. He doesn't have a huge ship and he does need to hide the fact that he found and has such advanced technology.

the only thing i can think of is that Gothic also finds some sensor dispersion technology on the planet and uses it to hide what he finds in his cargo bay, and he really only needs one of each of what he wants along with the technical data on how to build more and he could use that to build what he wants when he finally gets his base built on Bajor, as for the sensor dispersion technology you would think the Minosians who gained notoriety as arms merchants would have this technology to keep others from scanning there technology so they would not be able to reproduce it and would be forced to buy there weapons and technology from them
