Here is an initial look at the design of Kit, the main playable character in Kit’s Demise using Aseprite.

The starting point is a casual, athletic appearance that remains recognizable at a small pixel-art scale. This stage focuses on establishing his proportions, outfit, and silhouette before developing a wider range of animations.

Current design focus:

Appearance: Tousled brown hair and an athletic build define his silhouette.

Outfit: A white T-shirt, dark shorts, and sneakers establish his everyday look while keeping the design clear during movement.

Color palette: Neutral clothing colors provide a simple foundation for the character.

Directional views: Front, side, and back studies help maintain consistent proportions as he turns.

Idle animation: Early motion tests explore subtle movement while preserving a stable stance.

Consider adding the option to change the skin color so that the character can be African American.

He looks pretty buff. ┗|`O′|┛ Are you planning to add support for other languages, like Japanese or Chinese?

Kit's Demise

sorry, no character customization. maybe an upgrade to moves in the future.

Kit's Demise

I can try with google translation with the story added in later.

No worries. I was just thinking about racial inclusivity. People like to be able see themselves in the main characters of games they play and other media. I'm Caucasian, so Kit as-is is fine for me.

Correction: Caucasian girl-Kit is fine for me. 😁

This is the way. Abstract all game text to a single separate file in a `language/en` directory, then enable players to create or modify the same file in other language subdirectories. That single text file is easy to churn through machine translation.
