OKAY...

So the initial research I did of spider gwen says she is 18, 15 months older than miles in the new movie.

Had a rather angry twitter man start spouting what he thought was right, now since this model is from the new movie what actual age is she?

Can anyone find me anything to say she is 18? consequences of this is that I won't be able to do the content and subsistently delete the existing content!

just don't want that heat... Halp.

Why can't you just put a disclaimer "all characters are 18+"? It'd be a shame to scrap all that hard work.

Duke

I'm sure you know this already, but just so its said. You as the artist can determine her age in your depiction of her, especially with a character like her that is in no way loli. That being said. Jason Latour (the writer of the character) has said she is 19 in her first year of college in her own universe. The wiki article says 15-16 but that is based on her being a high school student in Miles' universe.

TheCollector

(SPOILERS AHEAD FOR COMICS) putting together some lore stuff, in the comics, she is going to prom when she accidentally kills Peter Parker in her universe. And in the movie, quote: "Spider-Gwen appears in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018), voiced by Hailee Steinfeld. This version has operated as Spider-Woman for two years, saved her father, but failed to save her friend Peter Parker after he became the Lizard, before being pulled into Miles Morales' dimension due to the Kingpin's Super-Collider." Generally, prom happens in the US around the age of 15-16. So, theres a good chance shes at least 18. I'm not a comic nerd and this was a pretty shallow googling, but thats my result

BlueHarvet83

In her Wiki for the movie it shows that her age in the movie Into the spider-verse she’s 15-16. And in across the spider-verse it said TBA, that being said most other website put her age to be 18 since she’s in her last year of high school

do you have some examples of the websites saying she's 18? I need to separate opinion from lore you see.

Daftman

The movies did not give her an age, if you add a disclaimer stating all characters are depicted as 18+ you will be just fine.

MaeveOfBlades69

Why do you even care about that, it's fiction, really hate when people get harrased over fictional characters

Ganbare

Just have a little guy with a sign in the background stating all characters depicted are 18 years of age

I was looking into it for you and the wiki that explains the universe where Gwen became spider woman, it don’t give her specific age. Source: https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Gwendolyn_Stacy_(Earth-65) But the fans have given her the age of 19-20 Source: https://community.cbr.com/showthread.php?83944-How-old-are-Gwen-Stacy-and-Miles-Morles#:~:text=Spider%2DGwen%20is%20at%20least,was%20stated%20to%20be%2016.&text=19%20and%2016.,artist%20formerly%20known%20as%20OrpheusTelos.&text=Miles%20is%20about%2017%20and%20Gwen%20is%2019. That being said, the spider-verses movies give some examples of her origins in the comics, which would put her at most 17. Across the spider verse takes place maybe a couple of months later since we see Miles attending school, that could put her at 18. The wiki puts her at 15-16 in the first movie but seeing as some of the events shown in her brief flashbacks are thinks she did after that age. That would makes thinks a but complicated. The fans see her as 18 while the creators of the movie put her to be 17 a the most. That’s all I could really find related to this specific version of Gwen.

Unfortunately, we won’t know the time skip until the movie comes out or the director/cast says in an interview. So far I can’t find any info on it.

Dan

Why does Gwen have to be in HS in your photo? It’s art. She could be 25 in this photo.

KNiles

You are the creator of the piece and can determine the timeline of when it is from. It does not need to coincide with any official movie and if some one is stubborn enough not to accept it in their endless thirst for outrage and drama, they are a moron. You do not need to try and cater to morons 😊

Didi Solomon

Put "All characters are 18 or older" or "Characters depicted are 18 or older" on the picture in readable but not annoying type. If you intend them to be legal adults, then they should be. Just put on the disclaimer for the blue noses. What it is in the inspiration doesn't really matter. It's what you intend. (And what your disclaimer might say.)

Mark Gonzales

What a f’n puritan prick. If Twitter Man is so offended, why is he looking at this content? Anyhow; can’t the artist say they are depicting the character at 18+ or whatever age the artist says? Keep up the amazing work!

It's for the comic though...which doesn't really help your cause. I couldn't find any direct sources / mentions for the movie....just a bunch of forum threads and whatnot discussing the subject ad nauseam.

In this article by cinemablend one of the co-creators of Into the Spider-Verse confirms Gwen age in the move to be 16 years old. Source: https://www.cinemablend.com/news/2463571/what-spider-man-into-the-spider-verse-2-will-be-about But ScreenRant analysis on the trailer of the second movie it seams a the most two years have past since Peter and MJ are shown to have a kid around the age of two. Source: https://screenrant.com/how-old-is-miles-morales-spiderman-across-spiderverse/#:~:text=Taking%20into%20account%20Mary%20Jane's,and%2017%20in%20the%20sequel.&text=If%20playback%20doesn't%20begin%20shortly%2C%20try%20restarting%20your%20device. Since your using the new Gwen model that makes her at her youngest 18 years old and her oldest 19. So she is definitely legal age. Not old in of to drink but of the legal age of consent in state New York, which is where she lives. Source: https://www.criminaldefenselawyer.com/resources/new-york-statutory-rape-laws.htm#:~:text=Age%20of%20Consent%20in%20New,on%20these%20crimes%20is%20below.)

Gabriel

She’s a fictional character she’s not real, if you depict her as an 18 year old then that’s that

SJin

Considering it’s a fictional character, can’t she be however old you (the artist) specifies her to be? Since this is your rendition if you state she’s 20, 25, or 30 then I don’t see how anyone else could argue

Lobo

The way I see it, is as long she is a fictional character whiteout any root in reality, she is as old as you make her. There's a reason no one made fake porn with G.Thunberg until she was 18, because she is a real person. So as several others say, put on a disclaimer that says that all characters are at least 18 years old.

Dave Ort

Marvel tends to play things fast and loose with ages. Often it's the choice of the writer as to what age when a story takes place. Sadly Jim Lee decimated their editorial staff so all the good editors are gone.

Marc3334

I just watched the new movie. Miles is a Sophomore now and it has been a year and 4 months since the end of the first movie. I think that most likely puts Gwen at 16/17.
