With Lianhua not being as strong/durable, I've been imagining her having various status-effect attacks that lower her opponent's stats for a period of time...  I need to let it marinade a bit in my head but it looks like a good start.

Giving Lianhua some good attack skills works for me. Another possibility is to make Lianhua better at fighting on the ground and Robin better at standing kicks. Lianhua could grab Robin's leg and force her to the ground where Lianhua would have the advantage.

Lianhua's coach calls out for her to "get cracking", and then a sickening cracking sound can be heard as Lianhua's elbow strike smashes into Robin's knee joint. A radical strike delivered to the Radical Robin!
