Right now SM and CBX (Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin) are in a big legal battle with each other. In 2022 CBX renewed their contracts with SM for 5 years but then, in 2023, they announced that they're seeking to terminate their exclusive contracts. Later in the year, they reached a settlement and SM reduced their contracts to 3 years. In January 2024, CBX announced that they would continue their solo activities in INB100 (founded by Baekhyun). Ever since it's just been a mess. First they were supposed to be in this cb, CBX even cleared their schedules for December. In 2024 and 2025, there have been various major lawsuits from both sides. In 2025, there have been attempts in mediation, which didn't end up with a settlement. SM announced that this cb would not have CBX in it. There are a lot of discourse about this but I guess that discourse just didnt end up in youtube comments section or they are somehow filtering comments (i wouldn't be surprised by this honestly). There have been a lot of issues with SM and CBX this year to the point where SM, allegedly (I think), requested one of their current artists to not be in the same interview with Xiumin. This caused a couple issues with INB100 artists where they kinda boycotted some events (even some episodes of Lee Mujin Service didnt have Lee Mujin as the MC since he is a BPM Entertainment artist, which is connected to INB100). Overall, it's a very messy situation. But in general, it is kinda obvious (imo) that EXO members in general (all 9 of them) want to continue as 9. Sorry for the very long comment lol, I didn't want to bore you with details about all of the lawsuits, but just know that it's a legal battle at this point.

You're welcome :)) From what I've seen, everyone is seeing this as a bittersweet thing. Everyone around me who are EXO-L's are just angry at SM while being very happy that EXO is finally having a cb, even though it's not the complete group. People are happy that at least Lay was able to do it. From what I've seen online, people will still be following it. Ofc, there might be people who might not like this cb since it's not OT9, I don't really know what the reaction will be completely. But I would say, if you want to follow the cb, do it. But, I want to say that my perception is probably kind of skewed since the algorithm on my social media feeds know what I'll like and what I wont like; and also the people I talk to are kind of thinking about it the same way I do. So, I might be slightly speaking from a small bubble perspective. The online discourse I've seen is just people being sad that CBX won't be there but glad that SM is not completely forgetting that EXO exists.

Yea that's the perception I got as well. A lot of people are just happy that Lay and D.O could still be in this comeback. As I said, it's a bittersweet thing

Yeah about your question “ is cbx still in the group ?” Yes they are still in exo and the reason why they’re not in this comeback is cuz of the law suit still not be solved maybe the next comeback they will be in it and the three members there contract will end after couple of months so they will decide if they agree to be in exo and SM or not . and btw the 6 members are still in exo but d.o and lay are not in SM but still in exo tho. maybe cbx will do it the same way as them or maybe not

as an EXO-L since 2015, I'm honestly heartbroken over this comeback. i was always sad when members were missing because of military service, but this time no one is even enlisted, CBX were fully ready to join, but SM's greed is just unreal. I'm really happy that Lay is finally back now that the China's unofficial K-pop ban has eased a bit, and that D.O. could be part of it too, i love his vocals so much. But having a comeback without CBX when they wanted to participate and when their vocals are literally core to EXO, for reasons that have nothing to do with military or health, feels so wrong, it makes me genuinely angry, I don’t even know how to process it. I love every member and I know they've all put in the work but EXO just doesn't feel complete like this... I'm thinking about what else fans can even do to show SM that this isn't right, and a financial boycott seems like the only thing that can actually get their attention. so I'll watch the MV when it drops, maybe stages, but I'm definitely not buying anything tied to this comeback. Still, I'm not judging any EXO-Ls who choose to fully support, stream, buy the album- everyone should do what feels right for them
