Hello everyone! I hope you are having a great day. Today I'm releasing Shae the Bastion, a replacer for Argis the Bulwark. Hope you like her.

I'm trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong. I notice each day more people are cancelling their subscriptions. I need help trying to understand how to maintain my subscribers. If you have any thoughts let me know in the comments. I'm open to suggestions.

Thanks!

Hi Heath, I don't think you are doing anything wrong. It could possibly be that with the economy the way it is and world tensions the way they are right now, people are cutting spending. It may also be that with creations needing to be released publicly on nexus they don't feel they are getting exclusive content. Edit: didn't mean to send, I hadn't finished but hit enter. Continuation: The goal is to support creators so they can keep creating. If this is the reason they are canceling, that's a them problem. But it could be the economy. I know you can't do exclusive mods, but what about maybe a patreon exclusive tutorial video series or something of how to create mods or how to create characters or some of the techniques you use to make your creations, or maybe a monthly live-stream or youtube video of you working on a creation on-video? Just some ideas. Thank you for making great content!

LordSpudTheMighty

Not a lot of reason to stay joined. Your stuff is available for free on nexus. I had to drop because I lost my job.

Thank you so much for this comment! I need to think about these ideas. Maybe even go exclusive on some of my mods. I like the tutorial idea as well as the video idea. I would hate to lock a tutorial that trains people how to make mods like I do behind a paywall though. That seems so... bad.

coldsun1187

Thanks for the comment Spud and I'm sorry to hear about your job. It makes a lot of sense that there are hard times for people right now and maybe that is why I'm seeing all these cancels. Your other point hits hard too. Perhaps I need to re-examine exclusive content on Patreon. Maybe even put up a poll.

Fabien

Without support, he may not be able to make stuff to even be free on nexus

Scaris

Not sure myself. I love your work and I am glad to support it. The content you continue to put out is excellent, and always improving.

2026-09-05 06:00 I guess some people are just financially restricted, or just flat-out would rather wait until you post everything to Nexus. I only cancel if I can't afford it at the moment. However, with me, I will always support you (unless something bad happens to my money lol).

Its likely a combination of things for many people. I know you have been a long time supporter and I really appreciate it. Also, I would never want anyone to support me during times of financial difficulty.

I have to agree with the general sentiment, times are tough and people are hurting. They tend to shed what they can and entertainment like yours is the first thing to go. Personally, I'm still doing pretty good and I believe in paying for what I use (Yay capitalism!) so I intend to keep supporting my Patreons. Not everyone can say the same.

Gideon

Why can't you do exclusive mods? Is it a Patreon issue or a Nexus issue? And if not exclusive than maybe post the mod on Nexus for free but give your supporters something extra. A dude has to make a living right? Nexus and Patreon don't do all this for free.

Thanks so much for your comment and I appreciate your support!

I unsubscribed once a while back because I felt I had everything basically that you would create but with the new fully voiced actors I came back. Once back I took a closer look at what I had been getting all this time and just decided that supporting you is the right thing to do because you are just that good and you also inspired me to make my own mods and you continue to inspire me so yeah. Not sure why people are dropping out now. Keep up the fantastic work. Maybe my little story will help. 🤷

It is a big help. Thank you so much for your support.

It's probably recently been because of the changes Patreon has made that make the app harder to use

MagicG

After going through my first year of retirement, (yes, I am that old), with inflation and the economy being so bad, I cut my Patreon support down to two people. You and Rex Kruger. I kept Rex because he is a woodworker, and that is my retirement activity. I kept you because I like to play Skyrim and the characters you create are awesome. I can understand that a lot of people are having a hard time making ends meet these days. I honestly feel you are a victim of the times. I think one thing you could do is release some presets, especially a few for male characters. Most of the ones on Nexus are pretty lame, especially the Red Guard presets. You could make the presets be an exclusive but continue releasing the characters to the general Nexus community. IMHO.

This is an idea that I have certainly been warming up to. Thank you so much for your support, MagicG. I'm still about 9 years from retirement so I am anxiously awaiting the days of not being a corporate stooge anymore. :)

I dropped my tier some time ago just when trimming the fat on my budget with the intent to return when you start putting out custom voiced followers. I'll probably return regardless when I can afford more spending $ as your replacers are top notch but the big draw initially was the custom voices. Was especially excited about giving Valentina a voice but it seems like all those projects are either axed or delayed pretty significantly. Still support you the best I can until then

I agree with MagicG that it is most likely people looking at their budgets...with inflation, rising interest rates, upcoming holiday spending etc many people, including myself, are trimming budgets. I dropped about 40% of the subscriptions here...obviously, I maintained yours and a few others whose work I continue to use in game. I would also like some new or updated presets, but your replacers are top notch (please finish the housecarl series). Besides being a skilled modder you have always provided friendly and professional communication in general and with me in direct messages. You and your work are appreciated.

coldsun1187

Thank you for your support! The voiced followers aren't axed - they were just delayed. I'm trying to catch back up since my break. Getting there soon!

coldsun1187

Thank you for your support! I am definitely going to finish the housecarl series as well as more voiced followers and replacers. Stay tuned!

Crochunter88

Same Boat here Coldsun - Holidays are coming, student loans started back up again. Will revisit my subs again likely in January.

coldsun1187

I understand, and thank you for your support!

wiggliey

Going to agree on the custom followers thing. They were the main draw for me and there seems to be less of that.

2026-09-05 06:00 Definitely economy. I had to cancel 3 of my patron supports and my world of warcraft subscription.
