Clarifying Support and My Policy on Rude Comments (Patreon)

Hello Patrons!

I'm so sorry that I have to write this message but I had to remove a Patron for the first time tonight due to their conduct in comments. I hate having to take actions like this, but when I feel a member will be a problem for the community, I will take drastic action and refund them their current month and block them from further contact.

This person's specific issue was my lack of support here on Patreon. I try very hard to interact with all of you here on Patreon and be very reactive to your questions and comments. I do get busy though, and this was the case for the last few days after the release of Visions. I have been in Discord and on NexusMods answering questions and trying to help. Apologies for not checking comments here as much as I should and I'll try to do better.

There have been a lot of technical support issues for folks having problems with conflicts with Visions due to the fact that this time I didn't release the plugins separately. I've been trying to help everyone as much as I can in the comments on Nexus and here. If I fell short, I'm super sorry to all of you. That said, it doesn't give anyone the right to insult me in any way. This person felt like since they were paying for my Patreon that gave them a free pass to publicly insult me. I refunded their money and removed them from the community.

I want to clarify the best way to get support for my mods.

The Fastest Ways to Reach Me for Help (in order from best to worst)

1) Come to our Discord and hit me up in my channel or #support.2) Send me a direct message here on Patreon3) Post a question in the Comments section of one of my mods.4) Send me a private message in the NexusMods Forums.

Specific Visions Issues

If you are having any problems with Visions, try this stuff:

1) Check the Articles Tab of the NPCs mod for a couple of useful articles to help you.2) Check out this great Article on Merging NPC mods.3) If you're using AI Overhaul, grab the patch for it here.4) Check out this mod page for a bunch of different patches for various mods.

Most of all, be patient. I guarantee that the mod does work. Skyrim is a picky beast and sometimes you just have to fiddle extra hard with load order management to get things working.

100% support you on this. You are actually quite active for a modder, and nothing gives anyone the right to be rude, especially over something like a game (even a game we all love). Visions looks amazing (admittedly I am taking a short break from Skyrim to finally play BG3 and haven't seen it in game yet). Keep up the amazing work!

Thank you for your kind words. I miss BG3. I finished it but want to play it again! Still, I have a lot of mods to do and some unique ideas to see if I can make become a reality.

You do great work which why I give you my support. If that person didn't like all they had to do was quit. You are working on your own time while living your own life to produce these mods. Good for you for taking a stand.

I believe that paying for a Patreon does not give citizens the right to be disrespectful or intolerant: there are people involved and, therefore, there is a duty to be aware of each person's routine and attention limitations. Your works are incredible. You are a skilled, friendly and kind person, Coldsun. An artist. Disappointments will come - that's life. But, stay firm in your projects. For my part, I will try my best to support you - who knows, one day I will become a Consul hah. Anything I can help with, I'll be there. Until later. Big hug.

I am sorry some people can be jerks like that. They feel entitled because who they are or what they have paid. Nasty attitudes never solve anything. The worse part is you do this because you love it, not as a full time job. As for me sir, I appreciate your work so much that you are the ONLY modder I support on Patreon. Please keep up the good work but remember you have a life outside of this as well. Please keep your life in balance. I can wait.

(checks real quick.....whew!!! wasn't me) I just never understand the entitlement ideology of some people. I have struggled with Visions, Pantheon works flawless for me, so I will wait until everything is brought to visions to address it then. I have nothing but the utmost respect for Coldsun and other modders that put in the time, blood sweat and dollars to share their dreams and.....Visions. Just because I feel the need to try to compensate them with a fraction of what they put in does not give me the right to abuse them because I do this............thats just plain stupid.

People should be smart enough to know just how many platforms that you and others have to maintain, and it could take time to receive a response, Patron or not. They would know that if they would just take the time to read something. Another issue is there are many (not all, just to clarify) people out there that are too impatient and even feel entitled to have things done now. They don't consider or care about the fact that you all have real lives and responsibilities too. I know in this case that is not the problem, but it is a problem, nonetheless. I could write a thesis about this, but I will stop here. Love the Visions, my friend.
