What do you look forward to next in SWFTD? (Patreon)

What would you like to see more of? What would you want to see less of?The most challenging thing about writing a "dark" romance is that people don't really want too much of the dark part. I struggled with this years ago when I started to talk about the missing person's case Grave's been working on. There was a noticeable drop off in support when I introduced Wolfe and his son Luciel. And now that we're delving into Grave's past, it's happening again. I'm trying to keep it short and not show anything that a teenager couldn't see, but I think it doesn't matter and there will always be that drop off.

I felt like I posted a decent amount of NSFW lately. I rereleased that 11 page NSFW comic, plus a couple of romantic themed pictures that are usually popular but engagement has gone down quite a bit. I guess it wasn't enough, so I'll have to focus on more NSFW this month.When it comes to SWFTD, my guess is people want more drama, more romance, more fluff. Keep the "dark" content to a minimum, only show enough to spice things up but not bring the reader's mood down. And keep the personal posts to a minimum.

Yes, it's my comic and patreon page, but I know I'm disposable like any other content creator. I'm simply here to entertain and I've been rewarded handsomely. If people don't feel like they're getting enough value for their $4, they will leave--simple as that. So I'm trying to do my best to make it feel like that $4 is worth it.

Please let me know what your honest opinions are. I'm always open to criticism if it'll help me improve as an entertainer. I want to make my readers happy~ If you're not comfortable writing here, please send me a DM =) Let's chat 🍵

I'm in favor of whatever story you want to tell. I'm a fan of the art style and, yes, I came to the patreon for the dirty stuff but it was the comic that pulled me in originally. You're writing a story about a gangster, which means he's going to have a storyline that includes his dark past. I'm sorry more aren't being as supportive of the story you want to tell with the characters you invented. Either way, keep up the incredible work and thank you for sharing this with us.

It feels a little disjointed with jumping from Luciel to Grave's background. However, I'm not sure if I'd feel the same if I was reading a finished product. It's a little harder to keep up, personally, as you develop the story line in real time. However, I love your dialogue, your willingness to broach difficult topics, and of course I adore G&E. I'm here for whatever you produce.

I know this a dark romance. That's exactly what I was looking for. I think if u do the darker parts, your side stories with fluff will soothe those who CLEARLY read it's a dark romance comic, but get offended by it being a dark romance. Maybe a trigger warning.I don't want to lose the intensity of the story or not feel the emotions I should for this comic. I personally was waiting for it to get dark. Shows people have different tolerances

I don’t think it’s darker material that’s causing a drop off, but that it takes far more panels to capture such events. Many may think to simply view once more is released for better context in one go. Fluff is more readily available to be digested in one sitting.

Ajoji, dont look at the numbers and let your creativeness take flight. The numbers will never tell the value of your art. Honey you are worth more than the $4 a month we give. Your art is different, the story line is different, the dialogue is mature and relatable. Dont allow people dictate how to create, just input, is YOUR story, bring it to life and dont feel pressured to be doing NSFW just to keep subscribers. Your true tribe will stay with you regardless. As an artist who has tried to keep up with demand and failed, I feel your struggle. This world has trained us to consume media and spit it out for the next new thing. Then the artists and creators who try to keep up with demand get burned out or just aren't having as good of a time as before, or just have to cater to everyone else and sacrifice what they want to create. It's a vicious cycle and I'm sorry it seems to be repeating itself. I learned a long time ago that regardless of what you write there is no way to please everyone. That being said, tell your best story. You post a good variety so I think you’re fine there. I do agree with needing to see a bit more of Ellie’s past. You’ve touched on it a little but maybe go into a bit more detail. If you do that it’ll even it out a bit. That way they’re both sharing their past and not just Grave.

I love this dark romance. I actually wanna hear more about her dark past as well if possible. I ask you author: Do we want the characters to have some sort of conflict vs. the world or vs. each other? Maybe an old shadow from Graves past comes back for revenge or surprises him with a visit? It's honorable that you want to be so open to critic and opinion. It can be overwhelming, but you're off to a great start!

Hello 💚 First things first I want you to know that you shouldn’t be so hard on yourself and that you are doing an awesome job at everything. People fail to see that writing a story is not so easy as it seems, it doesn’t just come to you sometimes it takes years. And sometimes what you write not a lot of people are gonna be into it and that’s okay. Personally I love the story I think you do a great job at balancing the actual story, down to side stories and also sharing your personal life and stories. What I hope is that people understand that you are human, you have a life and you are allowed to take breaks. This is your story and even though you do have an audience the one person who should be satisfied with all of this is you. It’s alright to be selfish. I have noticed that some people only come for the nsfw stuff which is alright but yea they don’t really stick too long because that’s all they want to see the spicy stuff. At the end of the day, you should do this because you like it and you want to, the rest will naturally come. I personally enjoy this story. I enjoy all the fluff, the dark romance, the drama and I can’t wait to see what else you do with it. I can wait to see more of Graves story as well as Ellies and the other characters. I’m sure there are others like me who feel the same. I also can’t wait to see more interactions with other characters! 🫶🏼🫶🏼

This may be more personal but I don't mind the dark elements of the comic. This could be due to the fact I'm an advid manga/comic/manhwa reader so I got plenty of fluff to keep me satisfied. I personally both love the story and the NSWF stuff because each bring a diffrent value. I enjoy hearing the darker elements of grave and ellie amd that kind what makes them a power couple and makes the NSFW all the better cause even though they are broken, they are better together can still enjoy each other's company and find pleasure in it. I love your work in genreal its been ine if my favorite for a long time and is a top read out of the 100s of stories ive read. Now of your asking for NSWF Ideals I have a bias for fantasy, like grave as a humanoid dragon and ellie as a elf/fairy. Either way I love your work and can't wait to see the future of the comic. The good the bad and the dark all have my heart.

Honestly it kinda sucks when other don't want the same even when you are paying for the service as well..for me I love a bit of everything from vanilla soft to dark..it's a comic that you been putting your all and that should be respected so do what's gonna make you happy those that like your work will stick regardless of soft or dark you go. Ajoji, honey, I commend you for putting yourself out there, to be dealing with harsh critics. As an artist, just having a thick skin and knowing that what you create and put out is all you need to be proud of yourself. I have been working on a story for 12 years and still haven't found the courage to put it out into the world. People are going to come and go, but those who stay know the struggle, the blood, sweat and tears that go into just a project. It's not meant to stress you but uplift you, make you feel good about yourself. We're here to listen (read lol) and love your work. I love a story because I can relate to the characters and the author. Dark backstories just make it more realistic and proves that the world isn't all sunshines and rainbows. We, as the readers, enjoy the content that you have created and made connections related to each character over time. As far as the dark past of Grave's history, you can make it your own as you deem it to be. It does not have to be gory nor is it meant to trauma us readers. We love to understand Graves standpoint of the trauma he when through especially when sharing and connecting to Ellie. Ellie's expression towards the trauma weighs on more for her being more interested and willing to brave through it with Grave. This is the true romance.

I agree, the dark stuff is good. It adds depth to the characters and story, makes their motivations believable. I mean, the comic starts with Ellie having a pretty dark day: hates work, treated badly, beaten up, dragging herself home, isn't happy with her life. Then she runs into Grave.

I'm here for the dark stuff but I know not everyone is. Maybe part of the bigger issue isn't the dark part but waiting during the middle of it. It's an important part of the story but it doesn't captivate people as much. They might not want to wait x amount of time between episodes during the middle of that vs during the smut. Might be worth clumping some of that closer together where possible? It just pases different than the rest. Also would love to see more of Ellie's past. Dark or light whatever that looks like.

I think dropoff in Patreon membership is not only from simply no longer liking the content, it could be caused by triggers of former trauma, needing to cut financial fat, or even needing to remove the temptation of porn if one is trying to cut that out of their lives. I know lots of people who were reading/watching porn who realized it isn’t healthy for their personal emotional/mental/sexual health and relationships, and decided it was time to fully cut it out of their lives. I think you are right in focusing on the fact that it’s YOUR Patreon page, it’s YOUR content, and you have every right to take pride in what you do without needing to cater to individuals’ nuanced desires. I wonder if it’d improve your mental health if you took full ownership of your work without worrying too much about keeping all the patrons you have, especially given that it’s most likely not really content that is causing the drops in membership. And if it is content that is causing the drop, then wouldn’t you want to just gather more to people who do want the content you’re creating rather than catering to those on-the-fence people? Isn’t it more freeing to be able to create content that you love and are driven to create than force yourself to change your focus and pace and content just to suit the people who were most likely going to drop because of content anyway?

I love everything that you post! Although my fav is when you post nsfw but theres more components to a good story than just sex scenes! I think you should keep going dark and post whatever you want! You could always add another tier that specifically says it doesn't include the dark part of the story if ppl are really that upset about it😓 but thats just my opinion! This is so surprising to me because I'm super invested in grave's past and his storyline. I can't recall quite how the tiers work, but is there a way to maybe just have a tier for the darker storyline stuff versus the fluff and nsfw stuff and then a tier for both? I LOVE dark romance and that's initially what drew me into this story and made it different for me. But I get that dark romance is not for everyone.

How can anyone not be hooked on the mysteriousness and seriousness of Grave’s backstory?! Then again, I’d say forget all the people who aren’t here for it but then I wonder "but would I have stuck around if it was more story than smut?" 🤔 and… I think I would have been even more invested!! I love the smut but give me a good story any day! Some people will agree, some people won’t. You just gotta do what feeds your soul when it comes to your art!! Otherwise it won’t be sustainable in the long run because you’ll lose motivation to do it. Then again, money is also good motivation 😂 but you want to write for the right people. Maybe you’ll lose some of the fluff lovers, but you’ll gain more dark lovers and you might like creating the content more! All I can tell you is I selfishly want more backstory cause now I’m hooked and need to know more 😂

I don’t do art, I’m terrible at it but I’ve always loved it! Seeing the detail and time it takes to make good art gives me such respect. Especially when you do this to entertain yourself and others. I love what you do and feel like if someone doesn’t want the adult elements of a DARK romance story then they should pay for a different artist who does strictly romantic style art. Nothing is wrong with either but rather than people changing what they consume if it doesn’t fit they try to force others to conform to what they want. I love your art and ik so many others do. Don’t feel as though you have to stop or can’t go as dark as you’d like because of people who chose to not move on from a story that they don’t vibe with. Your art is incredible, your story is incredible, and you should navigate it however you’d like. I’d happily continue to pay the $4 a month for this story as you have it now. Especially considering I’m on here more than Hulu and Disney+ and I pay wayyyy more for those than $4 a month. 😂 🤍

We as fan are here because we love it too, the beautiful, dark, erotic, but also the compassion and love of what these characters are going through and experiencing together. I had to sit with this one for a bit, because I got kind of upset with the idea of you being "disposable". I understand what you mean, and yes, people will only pay for what they value and so.e only value the...naughty parts of the art. I originally followed because Grave was a hottie, yes. But what really caught and held me is the story itself. The warmth, the bond between him and Ellie. The story of their lives as they become a pair and learn to truly be a couple, with their baggage and backstory in tow. That includes the darker parts. Because they're part of what shape the characters, I want all of it. I also want to see you succeed. You've fought for this comic, to make it more than just a hobby, to produce something lasting and meaningful that will pay the bills. Frankly I think you are a 100% badass. As for low engagement with post and patreon subscriptions, speaking from experience I always subscribe about a week and a half or 2 weeks into a new month whenever I get my check. Don't get discouraged or lower the prices, the prices are just fine, as a matter a fact those of us who love your work may even pay $10 for it, there are other creators that charge near $50 per month and have thousands more subscribers either on patreon or subscribe star🌟 Sleepygimp is one of the I actually pay $15 per month. This is quality work. I'm encouraging you to raise your prices for exclusive content, always require payment for your time and effort 🖼🎨🖍

I don’t think you should change the story you want to tell just because some people might not want to read a “darker” story. I know this is easier said than done. I, personally, find romances with heavier topics to be far more interesting, realistic and rewarding. I really like your work in general. The story, the relationship between Grave and Ellie, and the nsfw content. It’s all good. I like your point of view. It is very refreshing. Do what you want to do. It’s your story!
