I've been having serious health issues lately. Mostly passive ideations about death because of my history of mental health problems, so I didn't get to the gargoyle AU pages yet after just completing the summer AU. I feel so mentally drained with the way things are going. Life isn't supposed to be this difficult, but I just got unlucky with a fucked up family that traumatized me.Just a warning: the medieval/gargoyle AU is going to be darker in tone. Ellie is forced into a marriage with a duke by her family and he tries to sexually assault her, but she fights back. There's blood and talk about death, but it's contrasted with her relationship with a sweet and protective gargoyle. As for how I've been doing lately: I'm trying to push through the worst days while I still get work done and promote my comic on reddit. I'm hoping to learn some editing so I can try making youtube shorts. I've already started drawing out the designs of the medieval outfits for the Gargoyle AU, but nothing I can post right now.I've been walking more and trying to push myself to get outside even if it's the middle of the night. I feel safer because there are rarely any people around and I carry mace and a light, so I think I'll be ok. The crime in my area isn't that bad. During the day, I try to recharge in the sun and watch the birds and the bees, but I get so bummed out sometimes because I still feel psychologically trapped with my abusive family. Sometimes I envy the wild life around me for being able to just fly around and focus on survival instead of this psychological prison that abused humans and caged animals deal with. My parents have done so much damage that even though I have quite a bit of money saved up, it's hard for me to just drive to a new city, completely go no contact, and start over new. I feel like I have a millstone around my neck.I've done a lot of cleaning lately and am currently donating and throwing away a lot of my stuff so I can pack everything in my car and just leave once I can find an apartment in another city. It's just a very slow process for me because my parents destroyed my confidence to do anything. It took a lot for me to simply to pursue art. So much shame and shit talking about how I'm setting myself up for failure, and when I finally "made it", they just expected money and "favors" from me. Sometimes I procrastinate on showering or making coffee because I worry about fucking it up somehow, like slipping and hitting my head in the shower or spilling hot coffee on myself and scalding my skin. On one had, I don't want to end my life but the psychological pain is too much to bear somedays.Anyway, thanks to everyone that is still around. I know everyone is struggling and my suffering isn't unique. I just find it hard to push forward many days; I'm trying my best though.Listening to: Jutes - Kill or be Killed (MAPHRA Vocal Cover)

You are doing better than you think. You are still here, still creating, moving forward. It doesn't matter if it feels like you slide back now and again, you can take those steps again. And it's fine to take the time you need to do it. It's fine to struggle with feeling inadequate or worn down. It's okay to set everything down and have some executive disfunction. We are all proud of you for doing your best.

They are just jealous that you have the courage to live your life, on your terms. Keep going, please. You are bringing humor and joy to others and your parents can never take that away. Thank you for being a ray of sunshine in other people's lives!

Thank you, I'll try to rest and reassess. These problems seem so big now, but I'm sure it'll get better the more I work at taking care of myself and moving forward ❤️
