Just wondering if the dialogue on the most recent Ep update made sense. I'm trying to find out if maybe I need to simplify or clarify the language to communicate my ideas better or if people understood it and just think it's boring. I don't mind if I get accused of romantizing criminals since it's just fiction and fiction is meant for exploring ideas.. but I think it'd be interesting for the characters to have an actual conversation about it. If the dialogue didn't make sense then pls let me know & I'll rewrite it.

Basically Ellie is saying that people are complex, so you can't determine if they're morally good or bad based on whether or not they follow the rules of their society. The rules are never perfect because people who create them aren't perfect...and even if they are, you never know why people choose to follow them. It could be that they genuinely believe in the rule or they are scared of the consequences and she just wants him to know that since he clearly feels guilt over his past.

I love that Ellie is very open-minded, compared to what you'd normally find in a female lead. Her originality, along with the relatable conversations she has with Grave, really drew me in. I took what you said about the "rules," to mean that having rules in itself is setting humans up for failure. Because we are simply that: "humans," & we are bound to make mistakes. It's in our DNA, it's inevitable. Also, as you said (ajoji), a lot of those rules may change over time, so who are we to judge what is wrong & what is right? Especially when there are so many situations that have gray areas..

It was clear me me as well. Your a great writer and artist, don’t simply your work!

I thought the dialog portrayed that well! I personally agree with Ellies philosophy. People do things for all different reasons. People who do good things can still be terrible and people who do bad things can still be good. A criminal is still a human who is complex and capable of growth. We shouldn't whittle people down to one facet of themselves and mark them that way forever.

The dialogue was very clear, you don't need to simplify it :D And it wasn't boring either, everyone has an opinion, Ellie has a different thought process as to how she judges people. That's what makes her unique and somewhat the idea of people holding back themselves because of the law made absolute sense. At least to me :D

Dear Ajoji, your story and character dialogues are your individual style, please don't rewrite anything 🙏💋💕

A really beautiful and succinct way of puttin it ^^ I think about people who did time for laws that are now abolished (like during prohibition era) and it completely ruined their life but now totally it's normal and no one cares. It makes me question the morality of the system /.

ajoji_comic

Im trying to characterize her in a way so that she's not just the cute and righteous protag, but someone with deep feelings and thoughts that allow her to connect with a man with equally deep ideas and emotions. Thanks for the feedback Ariba!!

aww thanks Lyubov ❤️ I just want to make sure that my I get my ideas across >.<

Of course 🖤 I honestly fell in love with Ellie more when I read her thoughts and opinions. You are spot on with how you want us to perceive her and I am so excited for this story and your artwork 🖤🖤

Ariba

Which I appreciate! Please continue to write what feels best for the characters and you don't need to change it for others❤❤

Ellie's opinion makes total sense! It is so easy to jump at judging others when many times those who do it and point the fingers are the most rotten ones ( just have a look at recent YouTube scandals). Not to mention those in power positions- leaders, politicians who are supposed to represent some values but how many of them have clean hands? And can we say these people don't know better? I mean what do we expect from those growing up in abusive and adverse environments? Those who don't know what affection, warmth and kindness means? Children learn what they see and it takes a lot of time to unlearn unhealthy ways of coping with life. I appreciate you are exploring these topics. Life is not black and white and unfortunately many people are not ready to hear opinions that might seem unpopular at first glance. ✌🍒

I'm guessing your talking about the creepshow art thingy? and yes yes power absolutely corrupts. This is something they get into further in the convo is the fact that you can't 100% trust ppl who've never had power,, but someone who has power and decides to still be gentle and kind..it really reveals people's true character. Generational trauma is a thing and yeah you can't use it as an excuse for immoral behavior..but at the same time it's understandable that some ppl would make bigger mistakes than those who grew up in a fairly well adjusted environment. Thanks Alexis for the meaty paragraph 😄!!

I liked those last episodes with the serious talks very much. I also will come back to comment in more detail because there is a lot - only positive things! - I‘d like to say about them. But I‘m sorry, I can’t right now cause I‘m really not doing well in the moment. 😞
