there’s a lot to it but basically it’s an AU where humans follow the hierarchy of wolves and there are different traits called alpha, beta, and omega. the alphas are the dominant one and omegas are submissive and betas are interchangeable. omegas typically follow a heat cycle and alphas go into a rut. a lot of people have different theories and explanations but this is probably the most broad one i could find :)
