When I saw it, my first reaction was that yeah, Grave slept with her because he realized he might not have another chance... for whatever reason - be it his syndicate assignment or her attitude to it. And that his explanation about her decision and her burden was sort of manipulation because he didn't want to admit the real reason. And I still think it wasn't quite honest of him.. both to her and to himself. But as I keep reading both the story and the comments, I keep thinking what would I do in his place... Would I, myself, be upfront and open knowing it could result in losing that glimpse of hope, and the reason to survive and return... And it also makes me very sad, because my own first reaction was "yeah, sure.. NOW you're telling her" because my experience tells me he had THAT certain intention... without listening, understanding and trust, I jump to conclusion right away. My crooked world teaches me to react that way and expect particular things. That is so lame...
