M: Son of the Century by Antonio Scurati (2018), prize winning cautionary tale about Mussolini's rise to power, the first of a trilogy. Chilling from the first page. And he was in in power for over 20 years before they hung him and his mistress from the wall to the right of the Cathedral of Milan, to which Milanese proudly point and then spit. I have just joined the book club and I am thrilled to get to discover new books. I am currently reading Anna Karenina for the first time, the lecture given by Benjamin changed my whole experience ! I will join the lecture of Infinite Jest and see what it is to read along others reader fellows !

Welcome! Anna Kerenina was my intro to book club also. It is a lot of fun and more rewarding to be reading with others!

I have just started Anna Karenina for the first time, as I wont be joining the reading of Infinite Jest for now, also I decided after reading last month Great Expectations and after a long long time away Dickens and noticing how much I used to loved his novels as a child, that I will embrace the idea of reading an author total work, that I'm going to read all of Dickens novels in order of Publication so I will be searching the publication order and will be starting that project.

I’ve begun reading the Pickwick Papers & will be joining the Infinite Jest read to finally be living or reading live with you guys for once! I’ve also begun Tales of Genji.. astonishing first 100 pages thus far.. wow!

I recently joined the book club, but my entree is not the current 2024 reading. I have started with Orlando by Virginia Woolf. It is a feast of language, and images, and provocations; unlike anything else I have read. Thank you, too, Ben for all of the accompanying materials. I agree with others, they add so much to the reading experience. Woolf's essay, "Mr. Bennett and Mrs. Brown," your lecture on the rise of Modernism, and Shakespeare's sonnet 20 added greatly to my experience and enjoyment of Orlando.

Elif Shafak has a new book out and it sounds great .

Hello everyone! I'm thinking to dive into Anna Karenina, after seeing Ben\s enthusiasm for it! Excited to be here really x

Same here! I picked it up a while ago but set it down in favor of some of the recent reads. This seems like a good time to re-engage with it.
