It's time for another fun watch-along. Today we're appreciating different adaptations of Shakespeare's The Tragedy of Antony and Cleopatra.

We have Trevor Nunn's production with Janet Suzman as Cleopatra, and Patrick Stewart as a brilliant Enobarbus.

We also have productions from the Royal Shakespeare Company, and a behind-the-scenes look at actors preparing to stun audiences at the Globe Theatre.

I’m re reading A and C just now using my side by side plain English version 😂 because I want to make really sure I understand it all because I LOVE it. I definitely struck gold with the first version I found on Prime because Geraint Davies has such presence as Marc Antony and it really does feel like they are connected in a powerful way. To me there is a theme of him almost wanting to be free for once to kind of retire and do what he wants and follow his heart but he can’t. Both of them have too much power and responsibility and yes ego to be able to do that. It’s funny because I wouldn’t at this stage in my life really call myself a romantic but I have connected to this play in quite a romantic way 😂 from the ‘we stand up peerless’ quite on, which really kind of sums up my reading of it. This is my favourite of these three, and up there with Lear for me so far.

Ps the first Marc Antony in this lot was a bit pathetic 😂 more like Baldrick than a Roman Emperor😂
