I am a new member and looking forward to reading and sharing ideas with you all. I am in the middle of what I call my annual review and taking a look at some of the questions Ben posed. I find that I did not have a favorite book or character but rather learned many things from many books. Even the ones that I realized were junk taught me to value my time more wisely.

oops - continued.... However, I did notice a thread in my reading and life in general. I am 73 and thinking a lot about aging. Many of the characters I met gave me perspective on how to enjoy life at any age, how to grow spiritually and intellectually and how to make good decisions with the time I have left. Reading is something we can do at any age. It is important to examine your life and make the most of the time you have been given. It is never too late to try new things and correct your course. I can now see so much more clearly why I have done some of the things I have done than I did when I was busy with the 'doing'. Our characters in books teach us things about ourselves and also show us how to value ourselves and every person we meet. They all have stories! I look forward to sharing yours.

Happy belated New Year to everyone! We were out of town for new year's & I had hoped to buy a copy of East of Eden on our tip as a souvenir but wasn't able to find one. So my copy is arriving tomorrow & I can't wait to get into it! I still had Twelfth Night and A Tale of Two Cities to keep me busy with reading on our trip, but I am going to be checking the front door regularly for my delivery tomorrow! I hope the rest of you are enjoying your New Year reads so far & have had a fabulous first week of 2024. 💕

I am thrilled to be a new member and am looking forward to doing the kind of reading I’ve defaulted on for way too long. I’m in a personally challenging situation right now caring for ill parents. In all aspects I think this is a timely good thing-so thanks again for your compelling work. May the new year bring each of us that one shining moment we most need.

Happy New Year, everyone! I’m a bit behind in the club, but with the upcoming threat of extreme cold & snow, I’ll likely have a couple of days to catch up. I’ve already read 6 books (non-club) this year. My goal is 52. Look forward to the chats with everyone & Ben’s great lectures!

Happy New year everyone. I'm new as well and very excited to join this club. I have been looking for a book club like this one for a long time and honestly had gave up on it. I finally found one of Ben's videos on YouTube a few days ago and couldn't believe it; it was exactly what I was looking for it. I'm Brazilian but I live in Canada but even here I couldn't find anything similar. So, I'm really looking forward to watching more videos and having discussions with this great group. I'm really happy to be here. Wishing you all a wonderful year.
