Well! Summer has officially arrived. The moment I step outside, I immediately begin to scorch and sizzle.

Which means it's time for the seasonal art poll!

Over the past few years, you fine folks have consistently voted for one particular theme: "popular thing through the lens of late-'80s cel animation." Since we all seem to enjoy a healthy dose of retro anime, I've put together a few ideas that feel right at home.

Will it be Motoko's year (she has a new anime coming out and everything)? Or will Pinhead have some sights to show you?

Greeky

One of the rare cases where I would choose dictatorship over democracy, just to see Motoko lining up an aerial kill shot for Jaws! ^_^

Tentative for BSG, but *which*? If it's going to be the remake, I'll go back and change my vote.

Nah, of course it would be the real 70s one!

WooSai

I feel like Top Gun anime style is just Macross.

Hmm. So... Hikaru Ichijo/Rick Hunter: Maverick Roy Fokker: Goose Misa Hayase/Lisa Hayes: "Charlie" Captain Global/Gloval: Viper, or Stinger? (RIP James Tolkan) "You were in a 4G inverted dive with a Zentradi battle pod?" "We were, you know, keeping up interplanetary relations."

WooSai

Roy has to be Jester. He's too cool to be Goose

Gus Animation

The Jaws Anime would be best for me. The medium works well with long atmospheric seaside vistas and the occasional shark action would be nice to break up the chill vibe.
