Hello there!

It occurred to me that I'd forgotten to post a few shots, so here they are. It's the usual process by which I use 3D assistance for my spaceship shots, except this time I got extra fancy (by my standards) and modelled some mountains too!

Then it was a case of hand colouring it all and inking in a load of details. The results look quite nice, I think. Please excuse the Youtube compression! I'll rework the render because it's looking very crisp and smooth on my end but not when I uploaded for some reason. Anyway-

Just for fun, I did a mockup of size comparisons of all the ships. The Dalek ship is way smaller than I thought! And both of them are much much smaller than the ship from Alien: Monday. That thing is a flying brick and definitely not designed to be landing on any planets, unless they have anti-gravity tech in the Alien universe.

The Earth ship lands on planets NASA (or Kerbal Space Program) style - conventional rocket fuel, aerobraking in atmosphere to show down, then coasting down to land like a space shuttle or spaceplane, with extra drogue chutes and landing jets for uneven surfaces. The Dalek ship uses fancy Dalek science and a graviton inversion engine to basically invert gravity, with a few actual propulsion jets thrown in for good measure (good to have because you never know).

Well, that's enough nerding out for now!

These are always fun to see! As an aside and speaking of spaceships, I saw a Collectors Edition of R-Type DX with your artwork on the box, instant order for me :D

Looks amazing and some funky music too. I love the thought put into the ship design, reminds me of B5!

Yes, that was me! I hope they approach me to do more covers!

I think you'd enjoy building rockets in Kerbal Space Program, but you are too much of a man about town to have time for games!

Chris Fung

Do note that if I see R-Type, I buy instantly xD Mayhaps I shall ask you for an autograph on the box if I ever have the chance to find you?

otaking77077

Yeah, of course! My price for autographs is quite steep though - one can of Coke!
