The Tripods (Patreon)

In another "let's look at obscure TV shows that impressed OtaKing when he was growing up," it's the special effects tour de force, The Tripods from 1984, using all of the BBC's special effects skills developed up until then. I used to watch this every Saturday! The BBC marketed it on lots of different TV spots. Here's some behind the scenes stuff. The Cult of The Tripods: https://youtu.be/C9jjZ2EYozc The Tripods Special Effects on Blue Peter 21/11/85: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oy95tHwVbAs&feature=youtu.beBased  on the novel trilogy by John Christopher. The tripod idea is obviously stolen from War of the Worlds, but the story is very different and quite fascinating.---I thought an interesting read on Discord by Otaking.  Join us there if you dare: https://discord.gg/ZRK5Zkc- Maki
