I have to be quick because I have to leave but I really enjoyed this episode! That twist really got me lol I totally fell for her act. Also loved the focus on Mal and Inara's relationship!

Preaching to the Horse's Mouth

My own personal theory is that Saffron was just on Triumph working whatever con of hers she was working when Serenity landed, thought to herself "Hey I know some guys that would be interested in that ship" and called up some acquaintances at the scrap shop and then put her plan into action to get the ship there.

It was sloppy of Saffron to try to seduce Inara, but I think she would have been caught anyway since the alarm went off when Wash was found before Inara could tell anyone.

One thing you missed was that Saffron called herself “Malcolm Reynolds’ Widow” when Inara asked who she was. That’s why she was so relieved/willing to act on her feelings when she found him alive.
