There was a lot of shows suggested and there was some I wanted to include but couldn't because there is already a ridiculous amount of shows in the poll lol I tried to include the ones I saw suggested a lot and ones I was interested in!

There will probably be another new show poll soon because the shows were watching right now are pretty short so look out for that! I'll mix it up and include some other shows in the next one (like Haunting of Hill House is one I'm really interested in so that will most likely be in the next poll!)

I vote Agents of shield because it has similar Buffyverse humor but also the characters are just as memorable. Pilot was written by Joss whedon and his brother jed is one of the showrunners. I consider it a cousin to the the whedonverse. I think you would LOVE it. The good place is also great.

It really is fantastic, very well written (Jed and his wife Maurissa were also heavily involved in the writer's room for Dollhouse)... I will ALWAYS recommend AoS, and I can't get enough reactions to it!

Daniel

BSG!!

Audra Foxgrove

My top choice of these is The Good Place, followed by Dr. Who. I do also LOVE Battlestar Galactica, but I think as far as seeing you react goes that it might be a little too much of a downer on a consistent basis. Ymmv.

Steve

i was rewatching some old buffyverse reactions this week and before one episode riley mentioned she really wanted to watch x-files. anyway, i'm voting x-files. i just think reactions where the person is truly, genuinely excited for the show are best.

AoS would be my first choice as well, but as it clearly isn't going to win 🙁 I've voted for TGP. Could be worth making the next poll multiple choice if there are going to be a lot of options - may give a better indicator of which shows have interest.

I love the idea of Riley reacting to the X-Files, but I think as a replacement for Dollhouse, it's maybe a little on the long side. If she's doing X-Files AND Veronica Mars, it'll be over a year before anything replaces either of them (and X-Files will last over four years anyway, at least if Riley sticks to a one-a-week schedule and doesn't use a curated watch list). Personally, I would like to see Riley mix some shorter and longer shows so if one very long series like X-Files, Charmed, Smallville, or TVD wins, I'd hope the Firefly replacement ends up being something that won't also take years to complete. Otherwise, some viewers who happen to not be interested in any of the shows she's watching at a given time would have to wait a very long time before having a chance to see something else.

That’s a good point! X-Files has my vote too! Too bad it is nowhere near winning the vote. It is a shame that I have zero interest in the three options that are currently in the lead (Battlestar Galactica, Agents of Shield and Dr Who). I was also keen on Roswell, but with only a fraction of the total number of votes, I am better off putting my vote somewhere meaningful.

I just think it’s a perfect show to react to. The show is so iconic and important to pop culture and was a huge influence on modern television and fandom culture. The MOTWs are superb. There is so much social commentary and discussion that can be raised, even in today’s society. Anyone who loves Fantasy/Sci-Fi/Horror needs to have seen the show, even just to see the impact that it’s had. I will always promote The X-Files lol I mainly just feel like Riley would love it, based on her reactions I’ve seen. I think it’s worth it, even if it is a long commitment.

Zoot!

I think you would really like The Good Place, Agents of Shield, Doctor Who, Lucifer, and Gilmore Girls the most out of this list. I'm hoping one (or multiple) of those win. Good luck!

I see Agents of Shield, I vote for Agents of Shield. Personally my favorite show, basically tied with Buffy.

NC

If you're gonna do multiple shows, maybe its a good idea to choose one you're personally interested in watching and use a poll for the other. Or maybe you can just react to just react the pilot episodes of different shows to see if they gauge your interest ?

Simon

I'm a huge Doctor Who fan, but even if you skip all of classic Who, that's still 14+ seasons (and a bunch of specials), which might be a bit of a haul (though I suppose with the lower episode count, that's still less than all of Buffy) My vote's going to The Good Place. It's a great show in its own right, but it's also a perfect series for binging/reacting to, as it's not too long and has a tangible beginning and ending.

Steve

I'm a big fan of agents of shield, so if it gets picked that would also be great for me (the tail end of season 1 it becomes genuinely fantastic tv). still, riley is probably the only reactor i'd keep subbed to even if not actively watching shows. when i want a reminder of how incredible it is when she's excited for something, i can pop on the musical buffy episode and that tells me sticking with x-files is what i plan to do. while it's certainly long, i suspect other folks will stick around if she's excited for what she's watching. i've got no idea if she's going to enjoy AoS or Smallville, so i'd rather just go where i know she'd like to end up.

I wouldn't say clearly not going to win... right now (at 23 hours in) it's tied with The Good Place at 16% each. I'm surprised, actually... but pleased it's showing so well

Michael Noss

None of the shows I'd like to see her react are even close to winning!

Thomas Hansen

I'd honestly only vote for AoS if it was part of a larger MCU thing...

Christopher simeon
>>143081201

What is great about shield is that it's story is great the MCU just adds to its story not the other way around.

JDM

How lucifer is only 6% is mind blowing, lucifer is one of the best shows ever and its THE BEST for reacting channels for their reactions, just ask thr greats like blindwave, the normies sofiereacts etc

Reacting to different pilots is a great idea. Aside from giving Riley an opportunity to see what is on offer, it would allow us as community to see shows we may not have watched before, which could lead us to choosing a different option.

NC
>>143022300

The one thing I don't like about these polls is, a lot of times people just pick whatever their favorite show is. Don't get me wrong, all of these are fantastic shows. I'm just not sure they all match the reactor's vibe. Like I watch of anime reactors, and even though they like the mystery or romance elements of a show, something like Dragon ball Z will win a poll.

El

If there's a tie again like there was with Dollhouse and Veronica Mars, will you just expand your weekly watches to four shows? :)

Sean Ellingham
>>142980233

At the time I commented, it was behind many other shows (not even in double figures) so I'm also surprised - might change my vote!

El

The Good Place needs more support! It was at 18% earlier, did someone change their vote to something lower? At this point it's clearly between AoS and The Good Place, and *maybe* Doctor Who and BSG as distant third and fourth. If you've voted for anything else you might want to consider changing to one of the leaders (if there's one you're interested in, even if you care less about it than the show you *did* vote for).

>>143462975

I think the best conclusion is there is a clear mandate from the fans for both of the top 2 shows on this poll. Firefly would end soon, so staggered works. (TGP is awesome btw)

El
>>143462975

The only issue is that unless Riley starts watching multiple episodes a week, that blocks out all shorter shows for at least 6 months (assuming she doubles up on TGP anyway).

Jack Stankovic
>>143022300

That’s a good point! I try to weigh both up, and I am conscious of the fact that Riley has mentioned wanting to watch X-Files at least once, so that is where my vote went. I love it, but I have already watched it several times. Otherwise, I was leaning more towards Lucifer (only ever watched once) or Roswell (been really keen to find a reactor to watch along with for my first time).

Steveo
>>143078728

I wish Roswell got some reactor love, imo its so much better than Charmed which gets tons of reactors. I always considered the first season on par with Buffy at the time.

Elda

I’ve not seen any of these lol

Jonathan briggs

I think doctor who and Smallville should get more love I grew up watching them they are great shows better than the good place and the good place is good but not as good as the other 2

Jonathan briggs

OG Charmed should get some love as well riley if you love buffy and angel you will love charmed believe me its better than buffy in my opinion
