Holy crap! I didn't get to say it until the very end of the reaction because my camera battery was dying but I really liked this episode and getting to see everything that happened directly after the end of last episode. That ending scene tho.. 😳

If you're confused by the beginning, everytime I tried to start the episode the video went sideways lol so I had to keep restarting it and I forgot to cut it out. Enjoy my frustration though!

Also the lighting looks kind of weird in this one lol don't know why but it's not too bad

You don't have to like Faith. Some fans love Faith. Some fans hate Faith. I think almost all of us agree that she is hella interesting.

Jordan Haddow

Great reaction, as usual. Such a tough episode for the Scooby gang. Faith really is going off the rails here. Don't feel bad about having a different opinion that most of the fans on Faith. She's a complex character and the do gloss over her past, kind of like they've done with Xander in the past. I will say, that one of the things the show explores with regards to what it is to be a slayer, is how support affects the outcome. There are a number of times where it was showed that Buffy would have been a lot worse off if she didn't have Giles, her mom, and the Scooby gang. Take just for instance, the Wish. She wasn't much different that Faith then. So, when people hold fast with Faith, I think that's what's on their minds. Again, don't feel bad for your view. It's one of the really cool things about reactions. Sometimes a different view shows us things we've missed before. One thing is for sure, the episodes sure aren't boring, right? Looking forward to your next one. This season is only just picking up steam.

I think the reason Willow was so upset about Xander having lost his virginity to Faith is because that’s just another piece of him she can’t have. I think Willow has been dealing with this same emotion since we first met her…Like the way she reacted to him and Cordelia being a thing. It was quite similar. He also didn’t come to her and tell her this big thing that happened to him and I think that stung a little too. He’s been her best friend forever and her first love so I think that just makes this all that much harder for her. That’s just my interpretation. Great reaction tho. Don’t worry about other people. You’re allowed to think and feel however the heck you want about the show and characters. We are just here for the ride! Thank you for being real.

Agreed 100%. I’m not a Faith fan (she mostly annoys me) but, I do find her character interesting as a contrast to Buffy if she had no support (family and friends) in her life.

Absolutely, and I think it’s pretty accurate to how a teenage girl would react that circumstance.

Raven Dark

Great reaction, as always. Trust me, Riley, you're reaction to Faith is fine. You are reacting to her exactly the way you should. Man, this show messes with you. Absolutely can't wait for more.

Other Boy Reactions

“Hello this is not the kinky stuff, this is the murder stuff!” 😂 Great reaction! I love Faith but it’s nice to see someone criticize her and hold her accountable. I feel like a lot of people love “bad” characters so much these days that they let them get away with everything.

Bisibia

Yea you're not alone on Faith. I hate her. Go Buffy.

The thing with Wesley, yes he is pompous and pretentious, but its not like Buffy, Giles and Faith gave him a reason to side with them, If they hadnt treated him with such immediate contempt and ridicule, then maybe he would have been more open to listening to what they had to say regarding Faith. I also kinda get it from their point of view, the gang are happy and comfortable with Giles, and this new guy is forced upon them and like I said, he was slightly pompous, but they were hostile and dismissive towards him right from the start. Look at it from his perspective, you get a new job and when you arrive, your charges are totally belligerent and horrible towards you, and the guy you replaced is still hanging around and doing your job for you, despite having been fired, and they all love him and treat you like crap. Then you find out they are hiding a murder from you. Wesley made the wrong move, but he doesnt know the gang like we do, he hasnt watched the 50 episodes of the show like we have, all he sees is a bunch of belligerent teens murdering people and confiding in his predecessor. Likewise, with what happened in Helpless, I can understand Buffy and Giles' hostility towards the council, but Wesley isnt the council, he is just a representative of the council, ( as was Giles I might add, and they love him) and Wes had no involvement in what happened in "Helpless" where as Giles was complicit, albeit under duress, but still.

Exactly, its the same as Xander instantly takes an irrational disliking to any man that Buffy or Willow start to date or whom may be a romantic interest to them (Angel, Ford, Xander even was suspicious of Oz at first). Even if he doesnt want to date Willow per se, he still likes all her attention on him. Willow acts the same with Xanders romantic interests (Cordy, Ampata, Faith). Of course Willow did have actual feelings for Xander, but even though those feelings have abated by now, she still gets jealous when he shows other females attention.

Why are people telling you to like Faith? That's stupid. Of course you are meant to dislike her, she is being evil! So weird.

cruzinbosco

I don't know what people told you, but you do you. If you're upset about Faith and her actions, say it. You're a reactor, that is your job. ;) Faith is a complicated character, and while she is my second favorite of the verse (after Buffy), that takes time and rewatches and being in a place you're not at yet. Don't let others change your opinion. We love you, Riley!

I'm not much of a fan, either, but I do think it was a great idea for the show to examine what someone with such a unique ability can be like if she looked at the world differently. Spike made a very specific point about Buffy being a Slayer "with family and friends" and that seems to make her different. So with Faith, we get to see that play out in front of us. While I appreciate it from a story-perspective, and can appreciate Faith for that, I still never warmed to her like others have.

Loved this reaction! The way I see it, Faith made a terrible mistake and she doesn't know how to deal with it. So instead of dealing, she's comitting. Her thought process is probably something like this: I killed someone so I must be evil. If I'm evil I should be evil all the way. Which means I can do whatever I want, even if that means killing. Especially if that means killing, because that's what evil does. She's snowballing. Let's hope she stops before the avalanche. Wesley is just trying to follow the rules as he was taught. It didn't work out and I think he feels that failure very harshly. I'm just not sure if he believes the fault is in following the rules or in himself. I'm not sure he would be wrong either way. Poor dog, thinking you're angry at them.

And even if she wasn’t being “evil”, she’s allowed to dislike who she wants just like everybody else.

Jim Greer

I love Faith she is far more interesting than Xander & Willow , personally I can't stand those two .

Tim Pierce

"not in the kinky way that everybody loves". Well, what did we learn about Riley today? Jk love ya girl.

Keaton Jackson

Think of Faith as Buffy's evil twin. If you love Buffy you are supposed to hate Faith. She is her opposite, her negative, all her worst impulses made flesh. I think the wider "Buffy" audience feels kinda the same way about Faith that you feel about Spike and probably for a lot of the same reasons. Good shows tend to leave you conflicted about certain characters, gives you the light and the dark. There was probably a brief time when you thought that Mr. Trick was the villain or one of the main villains for this season. When Faith kills Mr. Trick, Trick disappears and Faith is "revealed" as potentially both Buffy's savior or her real adversary.

I think I have a liking to most Buffy characters cause they’re all so complex especially the grey area ones I suppose, at least the more main characters. Honestly as I got older I found Angel the most dull (even with his past). He did get better on his show though. There is another dull main character coming (i wont spoil) but besides them I can’t think of a character I don’t like.
