That's an all-time thumbnail

Louis Chapman

Watched this quite a few times. Loved this movie growing up🍿hope you did too!

Daniel jackson

Interesting fact, t James Spaders character name is my name, I am Daniel Jackson and I am adopted as well

Thomas Thompson

The old lady was the English professor in The Sure Thing, one of John Cusack’s best romantic comedies.

Kristin D

Oh please watch SG-1! Even if you can't do it as reactions here (though I would so watch you react to the entire series), it's so much fun. I think it's more your kind of show than Star Trek. Don't get me wrong, Star Trek is awesome (I'm a trekkie), but I think for your tastes, SG-1 would nail it in the sci-fi genre. The characters are so endearing, and the story is solid all the way through. Have to watch all of it in order though, as there are some major story arcs that won't make sense if you don't watch it all.

Thomas Thompson

I love these movies where they hot tempered morons to outer space. Like no one thought hey, maybe send smart professionals?

William Brownlee

Would love to see you and your dad watch some episodes of SG-1 together. I really liked the TV series. Even more than the movie. In a TV show you get to know a lot more of the backstory of each character because there is so much more time. The TV show was popular and probably went on 2 or 3 seasons too long. Maybe, let your dad pick several episodes to watch even if he doesn't want to be on camera. Watch the pilot episode and see if you want more.

Elias Shaikh

I think you would have enjoyed the extended version better. Anyway, the story continues with the TV series, 10 seasons! And the episodes are continuous, very hard to skip episodes.

Joel Cagle

This is such a great movie. I love the character development between James and Kurt, and how they both find their home by the end.

Phil Emral

The tv show is good but probably not very suitable for this channel, it's not the kind of show you can just watch 4 or 5 episodes a season from and be able to really follow it like TNG, there's a lot more longer story arcs and complicated lore especially after the first few seasons.

Eric Traylor

Yes, Absolutely watch the TV show Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis but SG-1 first, you could skip Stargate Universe though but please watch SG-1 at least most definitely

SyrupMcWaffle

The show is great but it’s very hard to skip episodes you need to watch most of them to understand it so maybe do it on your own time unless you mind watching all 200 or so episodes though it is worth it and I think you would like it. FYI if you do watch the show the first few episodes they thought they were going to make a more gritty show so it’s got nudity and some gross effects and stuff but pretty quickly they figured out that it should be more fun funny and adventure vibes like Indiana Jones or the mummy. And it becomes family friendly so don’t be turned off by the vibe of the first few episodes if you decide to watch it. It really fully hits its stride towards the end of season one.

John Yao

The TV series filmed in Vancouver Canada is an incredible 10 season of world building expansion, spinning off 5 seasons of Atlantis, and briefly Universe eventhough the original movie producers have differing story ideas for their sequels.

Brad Enervold

Yes. Yes. You should watch the TV shows next. SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis. But you need to watch more than 4 episodes a season (Star Trek TNG needs more also). Because the show goes much deeper into the mythology and it's fantastic and funny. You will love it. Thanks

Only the pilot episode and later editions edit the nudity out. Doesn't detract from the plot at all.

Shawn Kildal

"More increase in TNG episodes, large amounts of Stargate episodes, all of the recent Battlestar Galactica episodes, the entire 26 seasons of Dr. Who and let's not forget the Expanse series." Cassie is going to have to clone herself a few times to get all of these sci-fi shows reacted to. We need to throw in more TOS episodes too while we're at it.

Tim C

Don't remember watching this never Seen Spader with long hair. You think of Spader you think of a darker more complex character .Even the movie Crash ,or his latest series. But that was one ugly Buffalo.

Sara Elizabeth Joyce

The tv show was filmed in Canada, you're obliged to watch it :P

Mark Schamber

That was always the ONE thing that never made sense to me & I had to just put out of my mind in order to enjoy the movie. So the gate has what, like 32 symbols on it. So if you're only missing the last symbol, you've got 32 different options. What's the problem with simply trying each one until you find the one that works? They needed a single scene where someone says something like, if you put in a wrong address the gate explodes or something really bad happens, to eliminate that as an option.

Kevin V

Star Wars, Star Trek, Stargate… pretty much never fails to turn me into the jock from the movie Nerds. “Neeeeeeeerrrrrddddss!!!!!” 😂🤷🏻‍♂️

Timothy Roberts

The travel through the stargate is exactly like Contact. Both are using an Einstein-Rosen bridge. Also called a wormhole. It connects two points in space-time so that you can travel between the two instantly.

Andrew Buel

Fun Fact: We are ALL nerds. We are people that loves movies/TV shows so much we are willing to pay to watch someone else react to them for us. Even if you roll your eyes when you see one movie you don't like, I know you geek out when you see one you do. You may be a nerd for Sci-Fi or Sports or Superhero or War or RomcCom movies, but we are all nerds. We all love these stories and want to share that passion with other people. And there is nothing wrong about that. Thank you, Cassie.

Except they also take out that one cringe line from Carter that is turned into a joke later on.

Ike

“They don’t look incredibly advance. It looks like… Tatooine.” Two (2)✌️Points for the Star Wars reference, Cassie.

Don't forget Voyager, DS9, the original Trek cartoon, the million other Star Treks, and we may as well throw in Farscape while we're at it. All the while ignoring the thing it says at the very top of this page, "Just a girl in her bed watching *movies*..." People forget it took them 30, 40, maybe 50 years to see all of that but they expect Cassie to basically put the channel on hold for months or years to binge everything.

Dustin Denner

"The Blacklist" is the T.V. show that you are thinking of with James Spader playing the "The Concierge of Crime" Raymond "Red" Reddington.

John Sullivan

I feel like me and Cassie's Dad could hang out for hours, Despite my being in the next generation

Georges Jarjour

You definitely should watch the tv show. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the tv show and am still watching the reruns. You'll really enjoy it and many of your questions will be answered.

Oh yes! The Battlestar Galactica remake should certainly be on some kind of ‘Cassie does Sci-fi’ list.

Robert Flygare

Stargate SG1 is my favorite. You'll love the introduction of Capt. Carter. My favorite Sg1 character. She is so fun and brilliant.

Love the callout to Big Trouble in Little China! Glad she's rolling forward with it. I'm paying attention to the love stories, appreciate them more now through Cassie's eyes.

Robin T

This movie is somehow both overrated and underrated. This reaction face in the thumbnail however... *chef's kiss* MAGNIFICENT

Author Travis Adams Irish

The concept was cool with this film, but they waited too long to get to the action. Spielberg pacing in Jurassic Park is a master class. Also, increase the runtime for big stories. Strong intro, weak middle and ending.

Chris Thom

Kinda looks like you caught your parents doin' the deed in the screenshot. Lol

Chris

"Bringer-back-to-lifer-thingie" LOL
