Content

Here are the top 4 from Poll 1 and 2 competing for the final 4 spots!!

Love reading the comments on the ST polls, such good discussion and cases for so many episodes!!

I will already be watching the season finale, which is why it is not included in the poll!

Comments

rakesh

Parallels - Great Worf Epsiode and no Klingon nonsense! The Pegasus - Greta Riker Epsiode Lower Decks - Superb Episode! Going for Gambit as last pick. Its double! Fyi Patti Yasutake who played Nurse Alyssa Ogawa passed away recently and has some great scenes in two of these eps in Lower Decks and Parallels

Rich H

It's been asked a few times, but I hope you go back to watch "the first duty " before Lower Decks

Kelly Oehlschlager

I don't remember liking Gambit at all. I remember being bored with it. So, I have not rewatched it in years. But, a lot of people seem to like it. Maybe I should give it another go.

Neil Varma

Cassie Star Trek had another show called Deep space nine ! Might be worth a try even if it’s separate

Mike LL

I see one of my faves, Phantasms didn't make it to the finals. I can only hope that good taste and common sense prevails and my other three get chosen for watches. I can always hope, can't I??? 😂

Ike
>>147265626

Let me tell you one good thing about being a Trekkie. Walking into a room or channel surfing, and stumbling upon an episode of TOS or TNG that you hadn’t seen yet. It’s a GREAT feeling!

Michael G

The last poll of this wonderful Star Trek journey. What an adventure it has been. Let us bring it home with a strong showing: Gambit Attached Lower Decks The Pegasus or Thine Own Self

Mike LL

Vote needs to get going for Attached. The one Cassie really wants to see!!

Jon Hoover
>>147265605

You know, maybe don't tell her anything and let her discover the episodes for herself. I don't understand the need to spoil anything. I'm convinced it must be ego, so you can say afterwards, "See, I told you about that. I was the first to tell you Tasha Yar would come back." or "Inner Light is the best Picard episode."

Phil Sexton

Cassie, please check your Patreon messages re: a possible book deal!

David Noone

Just a thought Cassie, but a really fun rewatch with Carly might be "Fargo" 1996. Just given how the setting / people seemed so familiar

Mike LL
>>147265911

I don't understand the appeal of Gambit. Didn't we already have several episodes of (*SPOILERS*) last season???

TigerDelta
>>147265626

It is a bit sad, I’ve really loved the TNG reactions. So so glad you did trek at all!

Marcos

I single shot for Attached ; Cassie is invested in Crusher/Picard and there is nothing obviously better in the Season 7 list. (Which is the Best episode is the series finale by far) I am rooting for Pegasus.

Hannah

I strongly feel Cassie deserves to see the picard-crusher centered episode “attached”

Mike LL
>>147265908

I would think that having Cassie watch another episode to understand or better appreciate the episode in question would disqualify that episode. But unfortuately, I'm stuck in the back row in the room and my opinions are not popular.

Jon Hoover
>>147265971

Phantasms is one of the worst TNG episodes. I might have quit if that one had made it.

Johnny Franceschi
>>147265961

If that's your opinion you should definitely go back and watch DS9, it's better than both those by quite a bit.

Cliff Endicott
>>147265626

I would very highly recommend, after you watch the TNG movies, to give "Star Trek: Picard" a go. It's only 3 seasons and 30 episodes, but it is the rarest of shows - it keeps getting better and better as it goes along. For someone like me (who became a trekkie in the 70s with TOS in syndication, and watched TNG every week as it came out in the 80s and 90s) it was incredible to watch the further adventures of Jean Luc Picard. The last few episodes (given what happens in them) had me near tears 100 times. It is a wonderful series.

Jam

Attached,Lower decks, Pegasus, Parallels

Johnny Franceschi

Really have to vote in Attached, she'd love that one.

Mike LL
>>147265971

Unfortunate. I really liked that one. Also unfortunate that only one of my other three looks to garner enough votes to get watched. My hopes for good taste and common sense prevailing are being dashed to the floor like a stale serving of Rokeg Blood Pie!!! 😥😂😂

rakesh
>>147265605

Well its a thread for comments, so i've commented. Have I really given away spoilers? Like a major plot? Please elaborate and i'll happily reevaluate.

Mike LL
>>147266817

Yes a crime is being committed right now. Hopefully, as more people get off of work later today, sanity will prevail. This is the one Cassie wants!!

David Collins

It will be a genuine tragedy if Cassie never experiences the Ensign Ro line of episodes. I've just re-watched all of them this past week and they are easily some of the best episodes of the show. Not only that, they have several episodes that will especially resonate with Cassie.

Hannah

About DS9, this could be a way to do it: Season 1 : Pilot + last 2 episodes Season 2: 4 episodes + the last one Season 3: 4 episodes + first two and last one Season 4: 4 episodes + first two and last one Season 5: 4 episodes + first one, ep 14/15, last one These would even be less episodes than for the five seasons of TNG. And then we’ll see if and how to proceed with seasons 6 and 7.

John Liebling

Let's try and give Cassie Attached - you know how much she loves Romance. She's seen similar episodes to Gambit I and II. Attached would be nice considering what will happen in the finale.

Michael G
>>147265971

We are out here trying to pick home made gumbo with fresh peppers that took months to grow, and you are out here trying to pick replicator ration meal 34.

John Liebling

Rules are meant to be broken...so Cassie if by chance Attached doesn't make the cut...either on your own, or by way of the channel take a look at it, you'll be filled with smiles all day long... though speaking for the entire PIB community, I am sure most if not all of us would love to watch your reaction.

Todzilla
>>147265626

Just like Frosty the Snowman, you'll be back again someday. You can always do a impromtu poll for missed TNG episodes. However from the same timeline is Voyager and DS9. Just like how you thought you might not like TNG as much as the original, you will also love the DS9 characters (there are some TNG characters there too) and Voyager has some unusual characters that are so awesome. Let's not forget Enterprise: the prequel to Kirk's Trek. Scott Bacula is awesome as one of the FIRST Enterprise captains.

Kelly Oehlschlager

I chose: Parallel - one of my all time favorites. Attached - Cassie will love Thine Own Self - Cassie has not seen any Prime Directive type episodes yet. And this one of the best. Plus, she has not gotten a good Deanna episode, and I like her growth in this one. Preemptive Strike - Cassie has not gotten a Ro Episode yet or one that really shows the Bajorian and Cardassian conflict which is important if she decides to watch DS9 one day. Or even Picard Season 3.

clutchkman

I wonder if she might pick a favorite episode of TNG at the end?

rakesh
>>147267293

I'd like more Trek, but I think the difficulty with DS9 primarily is that in a voting format, as we have on Patreon, there are a bunch of episodes that are linked together as an overall arc. Maybe if those core episodes were agreed on and then voting for standalone episodes could work. But everyone votes differently, so getting consensus would be a miracle by the Prophets themselves!

Andarian

Cassie - Like others have said, you really should watch Attached since its the Picard-Crusher episode you've been waiting for!

baz0348
>>147267293

Is there movies no Cassie reacts to movies it's a movie reaction channel she's only watching tng for backstory into the characters before continuing with the movie franchise. Hence why we're watching 5 episodes per season. Like tos before doing the movies.

Jon Hoover
>>147267890

Preemptive strike carries no weight, because she hasn't seen any of the previous episodes. It's like watching Yesterday's Enterprise first, you have no connection to this character that came back.

Michael G
>>147267293

DS9 is way too serialised right from the first season, to not watch all the way through. I get and understand the passion for watching it, and I hope Cassie continues on with trek off the channel.

Pickupthepieces76
>>147265911

Gambit was so so at best, but the fact that it's a 2 parter is probably the attraction for many. Quantity > quality. In addition not everybody may have the episodes fresh in their mind, so maybe they think Gambit might be the best choice.

rakesh
>>147267293

She's also reacted The Last of Us. And a Couple of Mini Series like Band of Brothers and Chernobyl.. so not all movies.

Kelly Oehlschlager
>>147265605

I don't think you have given anything away. She has read the episodes descriptions before some of the episodes, and you gave away less than those.

Mike LL
>>147267890

Finally, someone who choose 3 of my choices! You have great taste!

Pickupthepieces76
>>147265961

I can see why some like VOY or ENT better than DS9, but they are not better. Don't confuse personal taste with facts.

Jon Hoover
>>147267293

I'm a true advocate for not doing DS9 if you can't watch the whole series. It's absolutely pointless, IMO. Besides, she's stated several times, she has a movie channel. She's only doing TNG to get to the movies. It's OK if her ST run stops here.

Kelly Oehlschlager
>>147267890

I don't know, I have to rewatch. I remember them doing enough filling in and reminding the audience in that episode to fill in any gaps.

Jon Hoover
>>147267258

There's lots of amazing episodes she's missed. There's no reason to introduce her now.

Mike LL
>>147265971

I beg your pardon. I was mentioning Rokeg Blood Pie, Worf's favorite dish, especially made by his dear mother (see "Family" episode). Replicator ration meal, indeed! 😂

rakesh
>>147265911

I felt it was an ok two parter. More little moments like the interaction between worf and data.

Jon Hoover

Wow! People in the comments section just don't care at all about spoilers. Why do you care about her reaction if you're just going to tell her what's in the episodes?

Chris Retzlaff

Attached needs to happen....all will be revealed in time. Cut Gambit it's good but useless. All good things here we come

Allan Rumberger
>>147265961

Depends on your definition of "better". Better TV in a generic or global sense, yes. It has had a negative overall effect on ST as a franchise, however. Section 31 alone is an unforgivable sin that has marred the franchise and its previously optimistic view of the future ever since.

Pickupthepieces76
>>147267258

Agreed, but to start with Preemptive Strike would not make much sense either. I feel the same about the Barclay episodes. But there was only so much room. However, I think the episodes that involve their arcs would make a good set of eps to watch when she comes back to it after a while.

Dean Holt

I know it’s in the early stages but I’d definitely think Cassie would really enjoy Attached over Gambit. But at least Pegasus, Lower Decks and Parallels is winning so far. But if you’ve voted for Gambit because it’s a two parter all I’m going to do is this 🤦🏻‍♂️, as there’s definitely better episodes that didn’t even get through. I’m also going to put this out there’s again, how about a few episodes for scary not to scary. Like Genesis, Schisms, Conspiracy & Frame of Mind. I just think they are all good to great episodes.

Allan Rumberger
>>147265911

Gambit is an inconsequential 2-parter, but it's also a good adventure story with really fun performances from Stewart and Frakes. It's a really enjoyable watch.

Dean Holt
>>147265626

Can’t wait for you to watch Generations especially now this year’s it’s 30th anniversary.

Johnny Franceschi
>>147267293

There's a curated episode list that I found where you wouldn't "miss" anything, but it's still 80ish episodes. Pretty big ask to watch DS9

Kharak

Cassie i never posted here that you should watch episode x or episode y but in case of "attached" i'm sure you don't want to miss it

Athan Immortal

Lower Decks! Lower Decks! Lower Decks!

Dean Holt
>>147265605

Personally don’t think Rakesh has spoiled anything, the only thing I disagree with is picking Gambit because it’s a two parter that’s just a bit ridiculous tbh.

Miguel
>>147265961

I loved DS9, but it would be difficult to do the way TNG was, especially after like season 3 the entire series turned into long connected plots so Cassie would have to watch all of them. Trying to pick out 4 episodes per season would be near impossible while still making it make sense to her.

Johnny Franceschi

I really hope Picard Season 3 is an option when the movies are finished, it's definitely worth it! (Seasons 1/2 can be skipped)

Kelly Oehlschlager
>>147269262

I have not seen anyone give away anything too important to the stories yet. They have given away as much as the episode descriptions that appears under the show titles.

Miguel
>>147266139

Not my personal favorite, but I voted for it because its what Cassie has been asking for, for the last couple seasons.

rakesh
>>147267258

Great Arc, Great Character. It's interesting to think how prominent she became after being introduced so late in the series. The only other person I can think of in a similar fashion is Miles O'Brien, who was much more of a slow burn.

Neil

Guys , I'm all for making your case for the polls but don't post spoilers!!

Kelly Oehlschlager
>>147268270

Have you read the descriptions under the episode? The thing she needs to click on to start the show on Paramount+? The same description that was in the TV Guide when it came out? It says their names and that they are forced to be telepathically connected and to face feelings that that they have always had for each other. The OP is not giving anything away. It is in the description for the episode.

Pickupthepieces76
>>147267293

Love your effort in lobbying for DS9. Not sure if she would have the same connection as with TNG, but who knows. 4x02 The Visitor is hands down one of my favorite episodes out of the whole franchise. That is sci-fi at it's best. Bringing a incredible story about family relations from a perspective that could only be achieved in sci-fi.

Jon Hoover
>>147269262

I disagree, but I also don't believe in giving anything away. It's not up to us to decide what's "important" to someone else. I don't see the point in giving anything away. It would bother me, if I were in Cassie's spot.

Andrew Buel

As a Star Trek fan, thank you, Cassie, for watching as much of TNG as you have. If this is as far as you want to go with watching Trek episodes, thank you. Don't feel pressured by Trekkies who think PiB should be all Trek all the time if YOU want to go back to just movies. And if you do decide to watch more Trek, thank you. Don't feel pressured by people who think even 1 Trek reaction is an atrocity if YOU enjoy Star Trek. I'll be very interested to see what you watch next. Okay. *Steps off soapbox.* Now for the final time, my picks: Attached (Not one of my initial picks, and it looks like Gambit won't be going down quietly, but reading the synopsis it features something that Cassie has been wanting to see for a long time), Parallels (1 last Worf adventure), The Pegasus (1 last Riker adventure), and Lower Decks (The best of the bunch). Gambit may catch Attached and it isn't as good a 2 parter as others, but it's still a fun romp IMO. On to Season 7! Engage!

Ike
>>147269322

I’m reading the comments - everyone including me are saying “Attached” needs to happen, yet it’s in 4th place. Somehow “The Gambit” is beating it along with others. I am not entirely sure that we aren’t being vote bombed by Star Trek haters, it’s weird

Ike
>>147267524

Look at the comments. How is “Attached” losing this vote? So strange.

rakesh
>>147265605

I actually do like the oportunity that data and worf have to shine in that episode. Didnt want to give too much away.. you know with me giving away spoilers left right and center..!

Fanchman
>>147268270

I don't think reactors read the descriptions of episodes ahead of time exactly for this reason. They often contain spoilers. I saw a copy of the original promo for Yesterday's Enterprise that absolutely ruined the surprise of seeing Tasha Yar. That's one of the dumbest decisions Star Trek ever made.

Andarian
>>147268270

That is less information than the IDMB description has, or the episode preview provided. I'm not sure how that is suppose to spoil the entire plot for her.

Anthony Carlson

Well, here we are at the end of the road. My votes are: Attached Parallels The Pegasus Lower Decks

Cody Nelson

I'm honestly surprised at how well Gambit is doing. I never considered it a very good 2 partner. I'm gonna be really sad if "Attached" doesn't make it. Cassie really will love that one.

Ben Allen

I think first duty might be worth watching before lower decks, really. They are kinda part of the same story

Randy
>>147265961

I hope she watches DS9. I think Cassie would appreciate Sisko for how different he is from Picard. In fact, maybe more relatable given he’s a parent.

rakesh
>>147269322

I felt lessons stratched that itch. and having another episode so soon with the simliar themes is a bit much, espcially since we have no more seasons left. Plus Does it really go anywhere?

Marcos
>>147269556

Those who want attached should vote for attached and *only* Attached. Single shot voting will concentrate your voting power.

Clarence Newman

Cassie, there are going to be phaser-battles in here if Gambit gets picked over Attached. That's because Attached (sorry if this is another "spoiler" but there's a travesty happening) is the episode you've been asking for for 7 seasons. Just count how many people are saying exactly that in these comments. I do not question people voting for Gambit if it's a favourite episode of theirs. Each to their own and I respect your opinion. BUT! To the people who are voting for it JUST BECAUSE IT'S A TWO-PARTER, please stop. You're replacing one part of "Guys, I'm so glad you picked this episode for me!" with two parts of not very good. It would literally be like pushing Relics out in Season 6 just to have 2 parts of Birthright. The upshot of this, if Attached doesn't make it, will be poor Cassie getting deluged with requests to add it as a 5th episode. We all know it, don't we? Hence the reason we are throwing our toys out.

baz0348
>>147267293

Because it's something she is watching or paid by promoters to watch. She doesn't do TV series poll's or watched them because someone requested it.

Cody Nelson
>>147269741

Yeah, I’ve never made that kind of post either until now. Obviously it’s her channel and she can do whatever she wants but it really will be a travesty if that one doesn’t make it.

Marcos
>>147269322

I recommend Attached fans just vote for attached, and nothing else. If you vote for attached and whatever is in 3rd/4th place, attached will not gain any ground

David Collins
>>147267258

I agree, the Ro Laren ship has sailed. I just hope she goes back and watches them on her own.

rakesh
>>147267890

Preemptive Strike would be good. I think she will end up watching Picard Season 3 and you're right it would link up things. She's really enjoyed TNG. I think its because it goes back to age of wholesome tv. Just heroes and not anti heros. Ethics and Morality plays. I think she'll end up watching if not with us, at least by herself.

Kelly Oehlschlager
>>147270558

Yes! Cassie, thank you so much for watching Star Trek! I think we can all agree, that no matter what you decide to watch on your channel going forward, we all hope that you continue to watch Star Trek on your own. We love it so much and believe you will too.

rakesh
>>147271722

We must abide by these prime directive votings that have governed us for several seasons.

David Collins
>>147265971

Going to have to re-watch Phantasms now since it didn't make the cut. I do not remember the episode from the description. Hope that will serve to triage and stabilize some of Mike's trauma. :D

Sascha Kummer

Oh, Come on! „Attached“is it! „Gambit“ isn‘t really worth of Cassie‘s time. You come to see her reactions. This is the one she has been waiting for

Neill Shaughness

I can't believe we are letting Cassie down by letting Attached lose

hurryupmode

Single shot Attached if you want Attached.

David Collins

As we approach the end of the TNG regular episodes, I can't help but feel a bit like a passenger on board the Titanic, as it was descending into the Atlantic. There aren't enough episode slots for all the episodes Cassie still needs to watch. Not enough by half.

Elias Shaikh

Cassie, really, In order to understand “Lower Decks” and “Journey’s End”, you’ve got to go back to season 5 and watch episode 19 “The First Duty” to understand the relevance of something that happened regarding Wesley Crusher and a few of his friends at the Starfleet Academy. It also has future relevance to the franchise. Before watching either of them if they win the poll, go back to season 5 for that episode! Additionally, a certain element in “Journey’s End” is a special return item from two other earlier episodes, regarding both Wesley and Beverly Crusher, which established an underlying theme about Wesley, seeing the adventures of Star Trek through the youthful eyes of young Wesley. Those are season one episode 5 “Where No One Has Gone Before” (which explains why/how Wesley became an Ensign in Starfleet), and season 4 episode 5 “Remember Me”. The latter might be ok to skip but the former in season 1 does, in a way, set up the audience for a certain “youth visionary” aspect of the entire TV series. Consider them carefully Cassie, they add to the fun and to the intrigue.

David Kent

Cassie needs to watch attached, if it doesn't win that would be saying something.

Ross Townsend
>>147271722

We absolutely don’t. We have information she doesn’t but has been asking for. Need the community to help on this one!

Clarence Newman
>>147271722

I do not say this lightly, my good man, but when it comes to Attached and our Cassie, Prime Directive be stuffed!

ArsTropica

I don't particularly love Attached, but it got my vote because Cassie needs to live vicariously. 🤓

Doc H
>>147271230

I think there are two factors. First, it's a two part episode, so would mean more content. And then there's the conversation between Data and Worf in the ready room. That scene gets a lot of love these days especially as a comparison point to modern day Star Trek. I think that scene is well done, but it's one bright spot in an overall mediocre set of episodes. IMO Attached is somewhat mediocre as well, but agree that Cassie would love it, so it has my support.

clutchkman

Weird that "Attached" is struggling. I've been looking forward to her reaction to that one. Tough choices I guess.

Michael Downie

I think Preemptive Strike is important to see how it affects JLP and what it sets up in the future. I found that it made a future event much more impactful.

Joe

Tbh, I don't really remember much at all about S7 episodes, nothing really stands out for me. Onward to the movies!

RJ MacReady

And we are closer to Generations!

D. T. Nelson

Come on guys. Attached is a MUST see for Cassie, especially after all her comments throughout this whole series. Cassie - I say if "Attached" is not in the top four, include it anyway — you will not be disappointed.

D. T. Nelson
>>147276139

Yes and no. It doesn't really come into play that much until the recent Picard series, then it plays a big role.

Mike LL
>>147269262

Kelly, I don't know where you are watching your episodes, but I am watching the episodes on Paramount+ the same as Cassie, and there are NO episode descriptions under the show titles.

TeenTyrant

Let’s be honest: you need to watch all of them.

D. T. Nelson
>>147273681

Oh, she has missed so many important episodes. She may have touched on the most critical ones for the movies, but a lot of important information has been skipped. There are characters that will go unrecognized in the movies. There are events and character growth that would have added so much to her appreciation of the movies (and ST series') she may watch in the future. Maybe not so much in this season, but it is painful to think on all the lost episodes from seasons 3, 4, 5, and 6.

Shad Kanyak

You’re in for a treat with the series finale. It’s essentially the first and best TNG movie.

Clarence Newman
>>147271722

I'm going full rogue, Rakesh. My Starfleet uniform has been replaced by Sean Connery's war togs from Zardoz.

D. T. Nelson
>>147271722

I think four people (who did not pick Attached) need to deselect their choice of Lower Decks (it's going to get top ranking anyway), and select Attached so Cassie can get what she has be pointedly asking for over multiple seasons now.

rakesh
>>147269262

@Mike LL If you subscribe to Paramount via Amazon Prime, each episode has a synopsis.

DiSarli
>>147275950

Seems like that Gambit is pulling more votes from the previously strong but now surprisingly struggling Data and Ro episodes.ä than attached. Strange, I always found „Gambit“ to be one of the episodes in TNG that don’t really fit into the overall show.

rakesh
>>147271722

@clarence I'm familiar with the Zardoz outfit , so I humbly acquiesce as it's too much man for me.

Mike LL
>>147278107

I almost want her to watch that last after Nemesis. (If she has to watch Nemesis). It would be a better ending for her. I know it wouldn't work though, because of continuity.

D. T. Nelson
>>147267890

Since she didn't watch the episode "Ensign Ro" she doesn't have the necessary back story to really appreciate Preemptive Strike. AND since she didn't watch "Second Chances" she won't understand the existence of another major character in that episode. (Cassie's brain might actually melt without having seen Second Chances). On top of that, many of the events in the first few seasons of Deep Space 9, which had been on TV since TNG's 6th season, play a critical role in what goes on in Preemptive Strike.

Shad Kanyak
>>147278107

There’s still season 3 of Picard. That season is almost entirely fan service and I was 100% happy with all of it.

DiSarli
>>147271230

She would enjoy „Attached“. Still a bit sad she didn’t get to know Vash though…That chemistry was different

DiSarli
>>147270558

Such a nice reminder what a positive mindset drove Star Trek back then

David Kent
>>147276932

If it doesn't win we will need everyone to message her say to watch it. While there are episodes that we want to see her reaction to, this is the episode that Cassie needs to watch.

Andrew Buel

Out of the last 5 Final TNG Polls, there have been 2 where 4th/5th place was separated by less than 50 votes. Cassie was able to squeeze in I, Borg, but chose to not do Ship in a Bottle. Bottom line? Vote for your fave, and let Cassie decide what to do if the voting stays this close.

DiSarli
>>147269828

Agreed on season 2. That topic has been repeated in every sci fi show, but Emperor Georgiou was just a much better take on it. I am struggling with season 3 though. Season 1 was a more organic extension of past stories whereas season 3 totally disregarded „inner light“ - Picard had a son namely „Batai“

DiSarli
>>147267890

It was kind of a pity that she didn’t get to see „Who watches the watchers“. Great prime directive episode.

Clarence Newman

I am too Attached to Cassie's well-being not to be this Attached to Attached. We will fight them on the beaches.

Johnny Franceschi
>>147269828

I don't know how you'd start with Season 2 of Picard, the only character she'd know is Picard. Season 3 was modeled as a final TNG movie and mostly disregards the first two seasons.

pound

Vote for Attached, people. Do it for Cassie. She’s been asking for this episode for 7 seasons

Clarence Newman

I think we'll be okay. This is the final season after all. Even if Attached is robbed blind by the poor man's Olsen twins that is Gambit, NO ONE is going to complain if Cassie looks at the final list and says, "THERE ARE.....FIVE.... EPISODES!!"

Paul

Attached got my vote because I know it’s one she will want/need to see. That’s one of my criteria for my votes, especially for these last several seasons. To me, while good episodes, I don’t see where the Gambits and Pegasus are key for her to watch at this point. Maybe for funsies on her own time.

V M

She should watch thine own self

The One True Chris

How in the HELL is "Thine Own Self" not doing better in this poll? It's Data-centric, which Cassie loves, and it also dives into Deanna Troi as she takes the bridge officer's test, which Cassie will also love. We don't need "Gambit," and "Attached" is overrated (but I admit Cassie will love it). Lower Decks, Parallels, The Pegasus, and Thine Own Self should be the top 4, and it's not close. Okay, rant over. :)

Ah, OK, that explains a little bit. I subscribe to Paramount+ directly, have no synopsis'.

Shad Kanyak
>>147278107

There were some events in season 1 that come up in season 3. So she may need to see at least the first and last episode. Maybe live with Patreon just in case there are questions and gaps to be filled.

Kelly Oehlschlager
>>147269262

I subscribe directly to Paramount+ as well. Not through Prime. When you click on the thumbnail for STNG, and then click down to choose a season and episode, every single episode has a description. Even when I click on the TNG thumbnail, the big screen shows a still shot of the last episode I was on and that has the episode descriptions as well. I am not sure how you are not seeing them. Like right now, I am watching Homeworld. It shows on my screen S7 E13 Homeworld and then directly under it "Worf's foster brother violates the Prime Directive....."

Uncle Phoenix

Shouldn’t the last season get a fond send off by getting more episodes? Just Asking.

Story Archer

Preemptive Strike seems pretty important to me, moving forward. I'm surprised it's not doing better.

Mac61

Cassie should watch all of them since it is the last season. ;-)

Jeff

Seriously, gang, if we make Cassie watch Gambit and not Attached, it will be an actual crime.

Tech Citizen
>>147269322

Rakesh - No the itch is Cassie wanting more substance between Picard and Crusher. She was already frustrated that no progress between them for 6 seasons.

The One True Chris

Cassie, I know you've said you don't want PiB to become "just a Star Trek channel," but look at the sheer volume of the response you get to these polls and episode reactions. Your viewers are speaking -- We want more Trek!

Tech Citizen

I will NOT vote for Gambit, just to give Attached better chance. Doing it for Cassie.

Clay F
>>147290868

Yes, would be a travesty. Attached is what Cassie has been asking for.

Clay F

Attached is what Cassie has been asking for. What she has been wanting.

Zachary K. (Verified Swiftie)

The series finale which runs almost two hours if I not mistaken. Which we only watched a few and I voted for all of them. We really liked Lower Decks.

Clay F
>>147284602

Attached is what Cassie has been asking for. What she has been wanting. "Thine Own Self" is a good episode.

Clay F
>>147288679

Cassie has no idea who Ro is but Preemptive Strike is a damn good episode.

Clay F
>>147284034

The 2-parter Gambit is good but Attached is better. The Pegasus is overrated.

Clay F
>>147273900

Journey's End is currently in last place. Don't think she wil be reacting to Journey's End. As for Lower Decks, I don't think she has watched a Cardassian episode (except Chain of Command) or a Bajoran episode. She missed key episodes such as The Wounded and Ensign Ro.

Story Archer
>>147288679

No, she wouldn't at this point, but the character is sort of 'reintroduced' in the ep and both she, the Maquis and the Bajoran conflict are all very significant, assuming that she continues moving forward.

Clay F
>>147271230

Yeah, S3 Captain's Holiday should have been selected. Such a fun and unique episode that Cassie would have liked. A Picard romance.

Clay F
>>147271278

Also, I think she has watched only one Cardassian episode (Chain of Command) and no Bajorian episode. She missed key episodes such as The Wounded and Endign Ro.

Michael G
>>147271722

I agree people should switch their vote from "Parallels" to "Attached"

Clay F
>>147269828

Picard S3. She could skip S2 for sure and even S1. I don't think she has mentioned the possibility of reacting to Picard S3. If she goes Picard, she could react to Picard S1 + S3, or simply Picard S3. Picard series S1. IMDb = 7.6. RT = 86% (audience score = 52%) Picard series S2. IMDb = 6.6. RT = 85% (audience score = 30%) Picard series S3. IMDb = 8.8. RT = 97% (audience score = 89%)

Clay F
>>147267293

Watching TNG episodes to prepare for TNG movies is like eating a good steak to prepare for eating hamburger. I like Hannah's suggestion. Would be awesome to get some DS9, even if abreviated. Cassie has reacted to plenty of series. Not just a movie channel.

Cassie 🤝 Attached 😍

Ensign Ro is awesome. Sad Cassie missed the Ensign Ro episodes. Highly unlikely she will watch any TNG episodes on her own.

>>147284034

If you look at „Pegasus“ from the perspective back in the days and over the whole series and compared to other species it was actually pretty incredible that the Federation had that that early and in addition to what we knew until then about that type of thing (trying to stay vague here😉). I remember watching it in the 90s and my jaw dropped. It’s a pity the concept was never really picked up again. afaik

My top: -Attached (give her what she wants) -Parallels (awesome) -Lower Decks (this can be reasonably watched w/o First Duty) -Preemptive Strike (I didn't vote for b/c she missed key episodes) My middle: -Thine Own Self -Gambit (I didn't vote for b/c want Attached in final 4) -The Pegasus (overrated, though technology issue is interesting) My last place: -Journey's End

Clarence Newman

I hate to stoop to spoiling the plot of Gambit, but why would Cassie watch an episode about Anti-Canadian moth-people who kidnap Baby Yoda and lock him in Room 237 of the Overlook hotel? Why, Cassie? Why would you do that?

Silver Machine

I can't believe how many nerds are voting for Pegesus. Riker is so lame after he refused the promotion in Best of Both Worlds. Are we really going to make Cassie watch this mediocre episode about the least interesting crew member instead of Attached?!

Clay F
>>147298654

I am okay w/Riker refusing the promotion, but The Pegasus is overrated.

Clay F
>>147288679

Good points. I think the most significant miss is the connection between Picard and Ro in the Ensign Ro episode that introduced Ro. Ensign Ro finished in 6th place after 5th place I,Borg that Cassie reacted to.

Clarence Newman
>>147284034

Di Sarli. Remaining with the vague delivery, you're right about the thing in Pegasus, but not about picking it up afterwards. You are clearly forgetting the Treaty with the....you know....which prevented the thing from becoming a Starfleet thing. This would be a massive spoiler if Cassie knew what the hell we were talking about.

Clay F🤷 that's what she's always said she's doing, her channel has always been a movie reaction channel not a TV show reaction channel if she wants to watch episodes of tng for backstory into the characters that's up to her. how she runs her channel isn't up to anyone else here.

Silver Machine
>>147298654

I'm not opposed to him refusing it, per se. I just wish it had been for a more compelling reason – like his feelings for Troi, which could have led to some interesting conflicts and stories. Instead, he stays because he just doesn't really want to leave the big fancy flagship with the boss who treats him well. And from then on, his main function on the show seems to be as a "dumb guy" stand-in for the audience who needs to be told what a Dyson Sphere is or what some other techno-babble really means.

Caomhan84

If Gambit beats Attached, this community doesn't know their creator. Gambit is one of those things that would have worked as a TNG novel, but as an episode, it's.....

Caomhan84
>>147288679

I doubt we will be seeing Voyager or DS9 on this channel. We might see Picard season 3....might. In which case "preemptive strike" would be important. But there's going to be a loooooong time until then. Cassie could watch the episode on her own if she needs to.

Lower Decks, Attached, Gambit and Pegasus are what I'm voting and that's the order in which I consider them important. It's been a great experience watching TNG on this channel with Cassie and everyone else here. I wish it was feasible to move onto DS9 after this but even as a huge DS9 fan I just don't see how it would be possible to do with that series what we did with this one.

Caomhan84
>>147297744

p0sthum4n

Cassie, I'm sure you've seen the thousand comments already saying this, but you have to watch S5E19 "The First Duty" before watching Lower Decks or a significant part of the emotional underpinning of Lower Decks will be lost. Even if you watch it on your own instead of on Patreon please do it for your own sake.

I am glad that Attached now has a slight lead over Gambit. She could react to Gambit as a close 5th episode like she did with I, Borg.

Jerrod Acree

Would others agree that episode 7:24 is important for Cassies’ journey to Deep Space 9 and Voyager?

Augustine Lee

cassie please do genesis as a part of extra butter

Verteron

If I were to pick 4 episodes for me, I'd Probably go The Pegasus, Lower Decks, Thine Own Self, and Parallels. But, for Cassie, I'd go with The Pegasus( last chance for a good Riker episode), Lower Decks, Attached, and I'm torn between Parallels or Thine Own Self. Preemptive Strike and Journey's End don't really make sense due to missed episodes in earlier seasons. Gambit is fine, but I'm kind of surprised it's getting so many votes. Either way, It's been a fun ride through this series and grateful we got so many episodes as reactions. Hopefully someday we get some bonus episodes...In Theory, Second Chances, First Contact, The Defector....and of course Sub Rosa...well maybe not that last one...but it would be a good reaction.

John Sullivan

Thine own self is good But Lower Decks is a must

Mike LL
>>147269262

Yes, it does give a description of the last episode I watch, but if under that I choose a season, a whole slate of thumbnails show up, but none of them have a description. So strange! 😂

Mike LL

It is good to see Attached finally get a few more votes than Gambit! Thank you fellow Trek fans! I'd also like to thank all the Trek fans for gifting me Cause and Effect for season 6. That is the episode I really wanted Cassie to see. I had fun today here in the comments, but it was all in fun, it just wasn't as serious to me as that season 6 battle, and that fulfilled all my desires as far as Trek is concerned. That being said, I am probably going to upset some Trekkers by saying I hope all the Trek content going forward is as follows: The 4 chosen Season 7 episodes. The Series Finale, which on Paramount+ is one long episode, so there are 5 episodes left (assuming Gambit doesn't recover). Then the 4 TNG movies Then the 3 Abrams movies And that's it. No DS9 No Picard No SNW Cassie could go ahead and watch anything she wants on her own. At least that will bring a little sanity back to all those who don't care for these Trek Watches, and we could go ahead to another movie series and I could get my PLANET OF THE APES 1968! 😂

Caomhan84
>>147317290

I'm on board with this. I'm okay with No Trek after the Abrams trilogy, unless Cassie wants to surprise us and dive back in next year or something. Most of modern Trek is trash anyway (with the exception of a few episodes here or there, and some solitary seasons...SNW is 6.5/10 kinda fun). DS9 is too serialized to watch four episodes at a time. Voyager is too uneven. The only way I can see her watching any of Picard is if she wants a proper finale to the TNG story, but even then, it's mostly trash until season 3. So I'm okay with this being the end of episodic Trek. We got far more than I expected honestly.

Mike Lemon
>>147270558

"people who think even 1 Trek reaction"- I don't think even a single person has said that. You're making a straw man.

John
>>147310321

Damn dude never known trek to make someone rage so hard, you definitely sucking on a lemon as the old saying goes.

Mike Lemon
>>147310321

@the other John - It's not the Trek, it is the entitlement. The Trek people are worse than the Star Wars people "demanding" everything is only for them. The Trek people are getting 30-ish "watch slots", it has taken up more than 1/5 of all content for 8 months already (with at least two to go), it has already had an extra butter and almost had a second one, and people are still not satisfied. They are pushing for DS9, VOY, Picard, more TNG, then bitch when people say not everything has to be Trek.

John Liebling

Perhaps when Cassie is done with STNG she'll give Farscape a try.

Thoko

I think in future it would be nice if your posts provided some explanation of what the abbreviation means. I had to read a bunch of comments to figure out what on earth this post was even about.

>>147312493

Oh yes, I think we can all agree that this episode fills a want that Cassie has mentioned many times. Not my favorite, but the first one I voted for in both polls.

Clay F
>>147317290

Maybe Picard S3 in the distant future if she wants, but Planet of the Apes (1968) first. The Planet of the Apes franchise was competitive with X-Men franchise in the live poll. I suggest these five: Planet of the Apes (1968) + the most recent 4 She said during the live that she may watch Planet of the Apes movies after the X-Men movies.

Clay F
>>147326830

I have not seen Farscape (84 episodes) but looks good. Excellent reviews. Less of a committment would be Andor, which is my favorite Star Wars series, even more than The Mandalorian that I very much liked. ANDOR (2022) (1-season, 12 episodes) (IMDb 8.4, RT 96%,) (8 Emmy® nominations including Outstanding Drama Series) (prequel to Rogue One). Stellan Skarsgård (e.g., of Chernobyl fame) is awesome in the series. Of course, Diego Luna is great. Diego Luna said filming of S2 is complete. S2 release expected early 2025.

Clay F

I believe Cassie's ST journey ends after the TNG movies/Chris Pine movies. She has never mentioned DS9 or Voyager, which I like both of those series.

Clay F
>>147297744

Cassie, as it's the final season - why not treat yourself (and us) to an extra episode and watch both Attached and Gambit? 😊

Clarence Newman

OK, nobody messed with the domjot table while I was asleep and Attached is still ahead of Gambit. As Clay mentions below, though, it's still uncomfortably close. Just to recap, a vote for Attached is a vote for Cassie's well-being and personal joy. A vote for Gambit is a heinous attempt to shatter her dreams and make her cry to the point of racoon-face. Come on, Gambit voters just-because-it's-a-2-parter. Your butt's in 2 parts! That doesn't mean we should vote for it!

Clarence Newman
>>147317290

I have to admit that Mike (Lemon) has swayed me with his concerted views on long series, though I also have to admit to a certain hypocrisy about it. I have LOVED the Star Trek journey and I really don't want it to end, but I understand how crap it must be for a non-Trekkie (or, as in Mike's case, someone who doesn't hate Trek but who has long since reached the point of "Enough already!") to see it going on for months and months and months. My hypocrisy is that I agree with the suggestion that long serials should be avoided in the future....as long as that doesn't apply to Star Trek. I'd still be happy to see more, although I would vote for a long break to allow Mike's head to clear. I wouldn't extend that support to movie franchises (I loved the Rockys, the Back to the Futures and the Die Hards etc), but they need to be top-end to begin with and if the quality drops off too much, we shouldn't force Cassie to watch them all. It just takes up space with ever-diminishing returns. In short, I'm with both Mikes in regard to this message stream. But also against them. But only about Star Trek.

I tried watching farscape last year for the first time since it aired. I couldn't get into it again. It was way too angsty, and the puppet stuff got on my nerves. rakesh
>>147269828

S1 and S2 can easily be skipped. And most importantly should. These are seasons arcs. There's no picking and chosing and so you have to watch the full 10 EPs. Now for Picard S3 that's ok. It works as a bookend for tng. But for S1 and S2 thats a whopping 20 sub par episodes. Equivalent of 4 seasons of Popcorn TNG watching. Her time is precious. To deliberately let her watch 2 seasons of quite frankly below average trek would be cruel and unusual punishement. I'd rather she spend her time watching a better mix of tng,ds9 or voy rather than 20 episodes of S1 and S2 of Picard.

David Kent

Fanchman

Cassie, it looks like Lower Decks will be in the final 4, so I recommend you watch First Duty from season 5, on your own, to get some background information on one of the characters. You'll also get some additional story with Wesley Crusher.

Andrew Buel
>>147270558

I'm just confused why this person is getting so annoyed about only having 80 movies to watch instead of 100. I don't expect to watch or like 100% of movies Cassie watches. I watch what I like, skip what I don't, and as long as Cassie likes the movie and is happy with the engagement I don't mind having 1 slot out of 5 be something I'm not interested in. And since that is going to happen even if Cassie did nothing but standalone movies, I don't see how it's a nightmare worth sparring with people in the comments over. They are still going to encourage Cassie to watch Trek on her own or for the channel, you're still going to be annoyed, Cassie will still watch things she wants to see. What's the point?

Now imagine going but this time you are guaranteed to lose over 1/5 of the hands no matter what cards you hold but you still have to bet each card. "I don't see how it's a nightmare worth sparring with people in the comments over." Of course you don't, probably because you have been getting your way for eight continuous months. "What's the point? " Variety. Oh, and that graphic at the top of the page (the big pink box with a sentence written in it).

Maybe Riker stayed because he wanted to be Captain not of any ship but the flagship aka the Enterprise. In a roundabout way he did

My belief is that she'll choose to watch Picard S3 Probably after a few good months have passed by after watching Nemesis. It's the perfect bookend much like Rocky Balboa was to the Rocky series. If she doesnt watch it with us, I hope she gets to watch it along with her dad in private as my understanding is that he enjoyed watching the series as it aired. Strange New Worlds is a fairly new series. It maybe easier for her to watch along with as episodes are released and i believe would get decent enough views considering its a shows thats current.

rakesh
>>147326830

Yeah I enjoyed Farscape. But its a bit of a long ask to watch that. She'll watch Andor for sure. Its one of the best things to come out of star wars in recent years. I'm not adverse to her watching more tv shows / mini series that are shorter in seasons. TV has come a long way. Personally I find myself eager to watch better shows than movies. there's somethign to be said for long form content that has better character development. Yes this is a movie reaction channel. But nothing stays the same forever. It's entirely possible ( i'd so so far to say essential) to evolve and try new things.

Clarence Newman

Now Attached seems to be safely ensconced in a double-digit lead, I'm going to give a nod to a suggestion Dean Holt made way down there - namely if Cassie would consider a couple of the more intense episodes she hasn't seen yet for a Scary But Not Too Scary October slot. Only a couple, mind you. We are not greedy folk, after all. I just rewatched Genesis, my favourite episode of Season 7 and the only one besides Attached that I really wanted Cassie to see. Needless to say, it got stuffed at the drive-thru. I'd forgotten how good that episode is. It's a delightful slow burner that lays an ever-increasing tension over proceedings that would be perfect for October. There's even some decent jumpscares in there! This was Dean's idea so he can veto my number one choice, but in case he does me a solid, here's a few more to make up the pair: Season 4 Remember Me - GREAT Beverly episode. Clever and tense. Identity Crisis - IMO Geordi's best episode. Superb Trek. Season 5 The Game - A really good Wesley episode, fun but kinda creepy. Season 6 Schisms - Well creepy! Good mystery episode too. Cassie loves it when we have to work things out. Frame of Mind - IMO Riker's best episode (outside of Both Worlds). Great acting by Frakes, showcasing some scary possibilities. Season 7 Eye of the Beholder - I don't expect much support for this one, but I like Troi and, with the exception of Face of the Enemy (which isn't scary), I think this is her best episode. Again, just two are needed to fill a single October slot, but I think Cassie would love it. What say you?

Don’t pick on me, Mike, It was Dean’s idea! Also, you should be thanking me. If you remember, I originally suggested Cassie watch Season 3 of Picard (10 episodes, 5 slots) before she watched the Chris Pine movies, but rescinded that suggestion in deference to your good self. This new idea requires just one slot which will barely cause a ripple in the channel’s matrix – a 4 to 1 swing in your favour. I’m doing you a solid over here! Beyond that, I can only apologise, mate. Lovers are gonna love, and we love us some ST.

Mark White

First Duty is awesome. Cardassian and Bajorian episodes, such as The Wounded and Ensign Ro, would also provide context.

S4 The Wounded, S5 Ensign Ro, and S5 The First Duty would provide context for S7 Lower Decks. At least Cassie has seen S6 Chain of Command.

Now that TNG series episodes are concluding, if there is a desire to return to Star Wars, my favorite Star Wars series is "Andor" even more than The Mandalorian that I very much liked. Only 12 episodes and thus less of a commitment than The Mandalorian or TNG. ANDOR (2022) (1-season, 12 episodes) (IMDb 8.4, RT 96%) (8 Emmy® nominations including Outstanding Drama Series) (prequel to Rogue One). Stellan Skarsgård (e.g., of Chernobyl fame) is awesome in the series. Of course, Diego Luna is great. The moderator KL (Kaiielle) did an excellent reaction to Andor on her channel. Begins five years before Rogue One (2016) and A New Hope (1977), and has flashbacks to give background such as Cassie likes.

rakesh

Andor, good pick considering S2 is due. I also had a thought continuing the classic sci fi theme. V. The orginal miniseries. think its about 5 epsiodes.

I hate Star Wars, but because of Cassie's influence, I took a shot at The Mandalorian and.....hold on, guys, this is not easy for me.....I loved every second of it! Word has it that Andor is even better, which I'm not happy about at all. As a Trek fan, I resent the possibility of two Star Wars shows being top-notch unmissable! My vote is n... My vote is n.... Dammit, I'm with Clay.

Clarence Newman
>>147403450

Journey's End would also say hello if it wasn't so obnoxious and annoying no one wants to talk to it. I agree with your sentiment regarding the good episodes, Andrew, but honestly, Season 7 was a pretty significant drop in overall quality, especially given the sheer volume of great episodes in Season 6. When the initial S7 polls came out, there were literally 6 episodes I wanted Cassie to watch and Emergence was NOT one of them! Now we've jumped the Gambit twins in a back alley and bundled them into the nearest closet, the four episodes Cassie will be watching are all of the quality she's come to expect. And the finale is just epic. I say we meet back here in a year's time and do the whole thing again. I would say we should threaten to unsubscribe if Cassie doesn't acquiesce, but we might find ourselves outnumbered. It would be well embarrassing to find there are actually only 20 of us and we just happen to talk a lot about Star Trek!

Joseph H Searles

Cassie. As this is the last season before the Next Gen movies and the fact that Gambit and Attached are polling so close how about do both as a bonus for the fans.

Andrew Golledge

Reading these comments has helped me realize something else: I love Star Trek fans! It's like watching friendly rabbis politely debate the Talmud.

Clarence Newman

Don't count on it, Andrew. That friendliness is entirely dependant on Attached staying ahead of Gambit in the poll. If that changes, some of us rabbis are gonna be throwing hands!

>>147298654

That’s certainly possible. But if so, it doesn’t reflect very well on Riker when Picard tells Scotty about how his first command of the Stargazer will always be special to him, even though the Enterprise is a much better ship.

I still don't get the hate on Cassie watching a show once a week that you don't like. A lot of reactors I follow are watching Game of Thrones, which I didn't like. So, I don't watch those reactions. But, they also react to other videos during the week that I do like. I have never been annoyed or complained that they were watching Game of Thrones because I know other people loved the show and was happy for them. I still watched the reactions I wanted to watch during the week. It doesn't bother me at all.

Kelly Oehlschlager
>>147310321

A lot of reactors have been watching Game of Thrones once or twice a week for several months. I did not like Game of Thrones. So, I don't watch those reactions. It has never made me angry that they were reacting to it. I just watch the reactions I want to watch and dont watch the ones I don't. And Game of Thrones fans are just as obsessed and "crazy" as Trekies. It just doesn't bother me. I don't understand your anger.

Andrew Buel

I don't think anyone would've predicted the closest vote in all these TNG Final Polls would've been Gambit vs Attached. XD I know there's going to be a push to add the 5th place episode, but just know that if it's Gambit we'd be asking Cassie to watch 2 extra episodes. She may not have the time to do 3-episode chunks like she did before. It all depends on her schedule. Keep voting!

Bagofsoup
>>147304650

I also would feel better about her watching lower decks once she watches first duty. I was sad first duty didn’t make the initial list in season 5, but who knows, she has watched episodes that are very recommended to her before.

Attached is about as Cassie as it gets. It… must… win.

Caomhan84
>>147442623

That's because people mostly love TNG. I don't think the comment sections for the Abrams movies will be as friendly (Even though I loved the first one myself, And I can't wait for the reaction). And if any of these discussions were about the old series versus the new series, you would see people bicker and argue. Even I, and I try to avoid fandom arguments, get irritated when people say "Fans of 90s Trek have rose colored glasses...the newer shows are just as good and cover the same themes. They've just forgotten," etc. That sets me off. I rewatch The old shows often, and I watch them side by side with the newer episodes......it is nowhere NEAR "the same" ......anything.😂

Andrew Buel
>>147270558

I wouldn't mind having 4/5 or even 3/5 odds in Vegas. And I would have thought that a channel that puts out 80 movies that range from Godzilla to Pink Panther to Lion King had plenty of variety. I don't see how 1 video out of 5 being something you're not interested in is that big issue that hurts the channel. I guess my question is what do you want Cassie to react to next? If you don't want any more Trek and 80+ movies isn't enough variety, then what movie to do you want Cassie to watch?

Dean Holt
>>147412069

Never really got why some fans only like Trek or Wars, as I’ve always liked both fairly equally. Star Wars was probably a slightly big part of my childhood as the only toys I remember having where Star Wars and Lego bricks. But I remember watching the TOS Tv show a lot with my Dad and he also took me to see Empire & Return at the cinema in the 80s. The Trek movies I got more into when I was in my Teens in the 90s alone with watching TNG & DS9, so I’ve really grown up liking both franchises and I kinda still do. Not a huge fan of the sequel trilogy but I do really like Rogue One and some of the TV Shows as regards to ST Strange New Worlds is excellent and I also really enjoyed the Chris Pine movies, I actually think they could be Cassie’s favourite films.

Dean Holt
>>147317290

I’m cool with the Ape movies, but I personally think after the original from the 60s she should just move on the 4 newer movies. As I just think the other films are very low quality especially I think it’s the 2nd one as it has a terrible ending. I actually rewatched the Tim Burton one a few weeks ago and it’s was still pretty bad but I actually thought it was a fun film in parts lol.

rakesh
>>147473902

She hasn't said she will. But she hasn't said she won't! I have a feeling after the final TNG movie, she'll want to go back. But most of us believe a hiatus would be a good thing. And that just watching the full S3 would be best, skipping S1 and S2.

Caomhan84
>>147473902

It's an iffy prospect. I too agree that after Nemesis, she will be.... Unsatisfied. So watching Picard would probably be something she'll want to do, either on her own or later on the channel after a long Star Trek hiatus. But the problem with Picard is 70% of the show is complete trash. 😂 Like many fans, I would say just go ahead and watch season 3 and skip the other two seasons, but there are a few episodes of season 1 that would be beneficial to watch first. However, if you watch them, too many questions come up. So I don't know what the best approach would be. But we can tackle that question if Cassie herself brings it up. Because that show is an entire frustrating can of worms. 😂

>>147270558

What is the point? If I have 1 out of 5 chances of losing, I have 4 out of 5 chances of winning. If I'm being 'forced' to bet, I'd just walk away from the table. If I have 1 out of 5 chances a video on this channel isn't for me, I have 4 out of 5 chances that it is. No one is forcing me to give this channel my money. If I know I'm getting 4 good reactions and 1 (or even 2) is something I'm not interested in but don't need to watch, I don't mind if Cassie watches Trek or not. This whole debate is "Glass half empty/half full", and even if Cassie reacted to a show I didn't like, I wouldn't mind. I'd just watch one of the other 4 reactions she put out.

Mike Lemon
>>147317290

@Kelly - Let's see. Game of Thrones- Nikki and Steven are mostly TV, Don't Trust Hannah is mostly TV, Mair and Sophie is one movie and two TV every week, Everyday Negros is mostly TV and clips, Stef Solari started off with TV (17th reaction was the first movie), Natalie Gold was very franchise/series heavy from the beginning, Spartan & Pudgey is mostly TV, 97Til is all(?) Game of Thrones, SoFieReacts is all TV, Movies with Mary has been mostly TV since her baby... Then I'm getting into the search garbage, so who are you talking about?

Clay F

Clay F
>>147473902

The Picard series S3 "is a fitting conclusion to TNG and a good farewell for beloved characters." You don't have to watch S1 or S2. She has not mentioned reacting to Picard series. My thought is that ST ends on the channel after TNG movies and Chris Pine trilogy. No Picard (or DS9, Voyager, etc.). My best guess is she does not watch any ST on her own. Picard series = 10 episodes per season. React to S3. Skip S1 and S2. Optionally, could throw in a few S1 episodes if that makes sense? Picard S1 (2020). IMDb 7.6, RT 86% (audience 52%) Picard S2 (2022). IMDb 6.6, RT 85% (audience 30%) Picard S3 (2023). IMDb 8.8, RT 97% (audience 89%) Picard series nominated for multiple Primetime Emmys and Saturn Awards. Won Saturn Awards: --Best Science Fiction TV Series for S1 and S3 --Patrick Steward Best Actor for S1 and S3 --Jonathan Frakes Best Supporting Actor for S3 Interestingly, Alison Pill (who I liked in “The Newsroom” series) appeared in every episode of S1 and S2.

Clarence Newman
>>147412069

I'm at a loose end, Dean, so I'm going to have a bash at answering your point on the Star Wars versus Star Trek thing. (Fair warning, this might take a while, so I will understand completely if you skip it. The Season 7 poll seems to be done and dusted, though, so we have a bit of time.) First of all, when it comes to how I feel about Star Wars, “hate” is too strong a word. More accurate to say that I “don’t particularly like” watching Star Wars, and if I get too much of it, my eyes start to glaze over. There’s been a lot of it on Cassie’s channel, and at times it’s been a struggle to get through. In basic terms, I’m a Trek fan and not a Star Wars fan because, to me, Trek is more realistic and relatable. Gene Roddenberry seems to have taken the human race he knew in the 60s and extrapolated its progress into the 23rd century, but with very little change from the way we are now. Technology changes massively, but our fragility as a species remains the same. That means there’s often real danger of death or destruction, which makes the tension more real and the characters more precious. I’m not saying that doesn’t exist in Star Wars, but there is definitely a semi-superhuman element to some of the main characters (Jedis being a prime example) that lowers the sense of jeopardy, and that lessens the entertainment value for me. Even the “normal” characters (Han Solo, Obi-Wan etc) could generally do the full Dances With Wolves horse-ride across the firing line of a storm trooper battalion and never get a scratch on them. Those guys literally can’t hit a barn door and even Star Wars fans think it’s funny! The aliens are another problem. In Star Trek, most alien species are basically humanoid, which makes sense to me, because if evolution has deigned to give us this functional and highly efficient body here on Earth, why would it not use that same template on other worlds? The laws of the universe are no different anywhere else. In Star Wars, however, the variation of species seems to have no logic. The most powerful gangster in the universe is a big, fat slug who can't even duck if someone tries to shoot him. How on earth did that guy rise to power? You’ve got oversized insects that are slave traders, walking turnips that look like the screaming roots from Harry Potter as your go-to mechanics, little green guys with big ears who are still acting like babies at the age of 50 (well cute but you have to admit, that’s a bit of a long infancy), onward and downward to the graphic designer's over-indulgence that is Jar-Jar Binks. In short, I mostly find Star Trek characters and aliens logical and believable, while Star Wars characters look (to me at least) like they've been designed in an art studio. One engages my interest, the other for some reason puts me to sleep within 30 minutes. Both are legendary and brilliant shows, of course, and we’re just shooting the semantic breeze here. Star Wars fans who don’t like Trek would probably give the same examples in reverse to champion their side of it. “Star Trek is bland and boring because…..” I’m glad to hear that you’re able to enjoy both, and also a little jealous. Given the sheer volume of movies and shows that both franchises have put out, you’re never going to be short of something good to watch.

Clay F

Insulting is a good way to say it. I remember watching certain episodes of season 1, and my best friend and I, Who has been a Star Trek fan as long as I have at 32 plus years.... I am not sure why it matters if they react more to TV shows or movies. My point still stands. I watch what I like and I don't watch what I don't like, with any reactor I follow, no matter the content. I follow enough reactors that I always have options of videos to watch. I do not get obsessed with a YouTuber. I do not complain about what they decide to react to. I do not demand that my preferences are more important than anyone elses. I respect that it's their channel and so their choice of what to react to. And then I choose which reactions I want to watch. From what I have seen, no one here is demanding she watches anything. We are making requests, sure. Because we want to share our love of something with her. Something we know she would enjoy too. Just like we do for movie requests we have all made. She can always say no. And we would all respect that too. But, it's her choice.

The problem with the comparison between Star Trek and Star Wars is that they are different genres. Star Trek is hard sci-fi, in that there is actual science involved with the fiction. Star Wars is fantasy, even that it is a space fantasy is inconsequential. George Lucas tried to inject a little science into his fantasy after the fact, with his midiclorians, trying to give a scientific explanation for the Force fantasy element, and it didn't go over very well. I like both, maybe because I realize I'm watching different genres.

>>147473902

I would say no. It's hard to justify just jumping in at season 3 - possible in this case, but still not great. Plus Seven. Plus... honestly season 3 isn't that great either. It stops actively trying to piss off the fanbase and leans hard into fan service instead, and it's a more feel good ending than Nemesis. But that's not the same thing as being great TV. If a cleaner ending is the goal, it would work as well in less time to just not watch Nemesis in the first place. Here's my pitch for a satisfying farewell: after the TNG movies, rewatch Galaxy Quest. It's a love letter to the whole thing, and I'm extremely curious to see what new stuff she picks up on now that she knows the source material. Then she can watch the Pine movies. Or not. I don't care. That's a totally different franchise as far as I'm concerned.

Maybe Cassie has a way to load the episode without looking at the descriptions. Maybe her husband loads the episodes. I don't know. It's not up to someone to decide for someone else what is and isn't a spoiler. In my opinion "Inner Light is the best Picard episode." is a spoiler. "Don't get used to Polaski. is a spoiler. We've enjoy these threads. Cassie certainly has and has said as such much herself. On the whole it been very good natured. And I think everyone's been sensible in not posting spoilers for a 30 year old program, because we are aware that Cassie hasnt seen them. It's exceeding difficult to talk about something and not give away spoilers but everyone has done it. The thread is about opinions. Epsiode X is the best troi episode is not a spoiler, it's an opinion. Mentioning the music in a scene is not a spoiler. Explain how you felt when you saw something without and being careful not to ruin it for her is not a spoiler. Everyone has contributed in thier own way in a positive manner which has made these threads enjoyable. Apart from you of course who's become the self appointed mod. You've repeated the same thing 4 times. And each time you've been wrong. No one is spoiling anything. Click on people's names and block them if you are that sensitive. As Cassie and Ben themselves moderate these threads I'm certain they would delete comments and block users if they actually deliberately spoiled anything.

Well, you're pretty protective of people's opinions, except for mine. Apparently, mine are just wrong and too sensitive. Unfortunately, you had to go with Elementary school attacks, as opposed to actual intellectual debate. It actually is really easy to talk and debate Star Trek without giving away spoilers. It doesn't matter if it's a 30-40 year old show, when you know someone is watching it for the first time. It's simply inconsiderate to talk about anything that might be a spoiler, and it's not up to you to decide if something isn't a spoiler for someone who hasn't seen the show. Yes, I've commented several times, because I'm trying to get people to rethink their comment before Cassie sees it.

It can't be as good as The Transformed Man, Rakesh. If you love Shatner (I'll say that again - IF you love Shatner), that's a great album.
