Cole Jennett

Ooh, this one snuck on me. Wasn’t expecting it until tomorrow🎉

Bill Maurer

Bonus Thursday !!! This and Thursday night Football (even though it is Miami). My best to you and yours

Dave

Please edit this comment to remove reference to upcoming seasons. Thanks, we don't want to set any expectations for Cassie, we want her to experience series for the first time as everyone else did

Dave

Thank you!

Brogan

Nice, could use a break from the stress of car insurance crap to delve into the stress of GoT politics

Ben Jack

If it makes it easier, in the books Daenerys’ chapters are just titled “Dany”, so many fans just call her that.

Clay F

A nice early drop. Thanks.

Tara ✨💫

@Cole are you able to suggest to Cassie that if she gets a chance to borrow the S1 and S2 DVDs that the bonus features are really helpful regarding the world building and some history about this world. There aren't any spoilers. I learned a lot that I didn't know before about the old gods and the new, how the wall came to be, Robert's rebellion etc.

Cole Jennett

I can pass it on. Was she gifted the DVD sets?

Andrew Nyberg

Ive been waiting for this all week!!

2-Can

Da-Near-Us. Although some would say Da-Nair-Us. But I’m from the north.

Steve Smith

The anticipation is almost as bad as when we waited for them to come out originally. Thanks, Cassie.

Kawaii Leonard

I don't have time to watch till tomorrow but I'm pretty sure this is the shadow baby episode? You kinda go from very little magic so far, then, BAM, shadow baby! 😁

Cole Jennett

And if it’s not, that’s a massive spoiler.

Mark Cunningham

Awesome. I've been watching you on YouTube for a long time. When you started Game of Thrones is when I decided to become a member here. You get so involved in everything you watch and let the emotions fly. I just knew I wanted to watch the series again with you, and the only right way is to watch the full episodes and not the YouTube edits. 🙂

Kawaii Leonard

I've seen this series 10+ times (well, seasons 1-4).. I'm 98% sure. ^_^

Above Average Dave

So, the other night I was absolutely killing myself doing a cardio workout while watching your full reaction to THE ACCOUNTANT. And with about 5 mins to go, my wife walks into the room and yells (because I had earbuds in), "Hey! When you're done with your workout watching Miss Cassiepants, can you take the trash and recycles to the curb?" I thought I'd share that and let you know she's probably been mentally referring to you as Miss Cassiepants for several months before it came out of her mouth 😁😁😁 (and, yes, I took out the trash and recycling after I was done).

Cole Jennett

I think you’re right as well, but its a risk I’d rather you not taken😂

Astraeos

Early GoT drop!!!! Thanks much, now my Thursday night is set!

MGCR

Every time Cersei has sex, she's either with Jamie or imagining she's with Jamie. And btw, Tyrion has always known about it. But because Jamie's the only person who's ever treated Tyrion like a human being, he keeps the secret.

Jenny_M

I remember missing spending time with some of my favorites in these two episodes, since we don't get much Dany or Jon, but they also introduce some great characters, so it's a decent trade-off.

JohnnyUtah

Continue setting the chess board

Walter

Just wanted to say again how much I am enjoying watching GoT through your eyes - thank you so much for doing it!

Clay F

Enjoyed your reaction. This is great watching you take in the characters as the series progresses. I can tell you really like Tyrion -- but have a little uncertainty. Joffrey continues to truly go overboard. The introduction of characters in S2 added more for you to devour. I know you find the stories interesting (and want a postive direction), and you character-focused. Bronn on Joffrey: "There's no cure for being a c*nt."

MacGuffinStuff

Ith a thimble of hith love for Gilly. Sorry couldn't help it.

Dave

Please edit the vulgar word from your post - sure, you're quoting the character, but let's keep it out of the comments. Thanks

Clay F

I put in an asterisk. Is that enough? I started to include the asterisk in my initial post.

Dave

Perfect. Thanks!

AdrianF

Happy Thriday. After last week, I couldn't stop so am up to end of S4 but looking forward to these two nonetheless.

Mike Lemon

Did I miss something? "Patreon Rules: "Most of these go without saying, but: "1. Be kind to each other. ... "2. No Racism. ... "3. No religious or political discussion. ... "4. No Spoilers. ... "5. Have Fun! ..."

Clay F

I thought Ayra scenes were good these episodes. She was compelling to me. You have empathy for her. Tyrion excels with a commanding presence -- even with his plots/schemes. You said you might like the newly-introduced Margaery Tyrell (Renly's wife/queen).

Story Archer

Officially, 'duh·neh·ruhs'.

Mike Lemon

When I "rewatch" Thrones, I only watch the Ayra story. It's the best part of the whole show.

Steve Mercier

Brienne! Margaery! Shadow baby demon thing! Ah, fond memories of season 2...good stuff.

Clay F

I thought Maisie Williams acting even better than typical these two episodes.

Eve Griffin

I highly rec watching the after the episodes. Would be cool to do it for patreon at least right after the end. They are SO helpful and don't spoil anything since they ran with the show live at the time too. I picked up so much from them. Can't wait to rewatch with you on your GoT journey.

aarswft

For anyone having trouble syncing, the timestamp is correct, minus any previews before the episode. Match it to that and not the video footage. it skips at one point.

Cole Jennett

It seems to only be out of sync for about 5 minutes in the middle of episode 3.

aarswft

Thank you, I should have been more specific.

MertzRocks

I find that true of just about any show or movie, and just about any creator. Cassie you are special though (oh and Carly too) !!

MertzRocks

At this point it would not be a spoiler to Cassie, and how many really watch a show for the first time by watching reactions to it? Besides, it's only a spoiler of you say something BEFORE the episode, and that ^ counts as after.

MertzRocks

Or just call her Khaleesi (ka-LEE-see) or even just Dany.

MacGuffinStuff

Stannis is such an interesting character to me and Stephen Dillane was perfect for the role. He's not supposed to be likeable, he's physically brave, intelligent, a soldier and honorable, but his idea of honor is so black and white it's like he's morally color blind. I mean his statement about Ser Davos' chopped off fingers, basically that the good deed doesn't wash out the bad, vice versa, but in the real world it kind of does, it depends on how bad and how good the deeds we're talking about here. He's just such a legalist, his concepts of justice are so, almost bureaucratic, because he doesn't question his own concept of morality, it's rote, taught and received. BUT, and that's why I love Stephen Dillane as Stannis, no character in this show goes unchanged or unchallenged, well maybe one or two who represent sort of the extremes of the human spectrum of morality and behavior. I'd say even Ned was changed, he really did not understand how bad things were, especially how bad Robert, his best friend had become, only in his literal final hours I think, amd he did compromise the honor of his name and reputation because it was the actual truly honorable thing to do. Sean Bean's expression, just before we see the sword coming down, just sticks with me, on my mind it's like he's accepting his fate, but also that he messed up and all he can do is hope Yorin saves Arya, he thinks of his family, his kids. This show dude.

Night King01

Pycelle is a fake in the way he acts as evident by this episode and the finale of season 1. He just puts on the performance of an elderly sickly man so he always gets ignored therefore left alive.

MertzRocks

I was actually ready to hear you utter an f-bomb (even an unfinished "fffff...") at the end of ep4. You didn't. Oh, well... I guess I should know better by now... That was Stannis' son, something born of shadows, in the shadows... Tyrion has his first spy; and procured quite deftly I might add. And no, Cersei won't seek a lover outside her own bloodline - probably some half-baked wish for purity if she should become with child again? IDK...

Cole Jennett

I noticed it was off when Cassie “hissed” I assume at something Cersei said, but it didn’t match, and when Shae came into Sansa’s room, Cassie’s reaction is delayed. By the time we get to the Loras & Renly scene it’s back in sync

Cole Jennett

The issue was he said he was only pretty sure. He did end up being right, so there was nothing wrong with it in the end.

aarswft

Also, fun fact that will get mentioned 1000 times I'm sure, but the field medic who got Robb's attention is Oona Chaplin, granddaughter of silent film star Charlie Chaplin.

Mike Gallagher

Was this the first birth scene that didn't make Cassie cry? lol

KTVindicare

So I can give some backstory for Harrenhall since it doesn't spoil anything. Back before the days of the Dragon Kings, Harrenhall was the largest castle in the Seven Kingdoms. Its walls were as tall as modern day buildings made from the thickest stones possible. It was a marvel of engineering, as powerful as any of the castles in the Kingdoms only it was so based on its fortifications alone, not because of any kind of natural defenses it was built into. When the first Dragons came to the Seven Kingdoms they attacked this fortress that was considered impossible to attack and they unleashed so much dragon fire on it that they literally cooked the defenders inside their own walls. They melted the mighty castle down and it became a ruin, and it was never built back into a mighty fortress again no matter how many lords tried.

Kiss the Librarian

Whoever acted the final scream of the guy getting pulled apart offscreen at Harrenhal needed an Emmy. Absolutely haunting.

Laura Thornley

There's a great cut scene where its shown just how much of a performance it is, where he stands up straight and talks clearly - immediately seeming two decades younger. Then when he's done talking the performance comes back, and he's an ancient old fool again.

Night King01

Its a great scene but its from season 3. Shame they cut it out.

Laura Thornley

"Robert was the true steel. Stannis is pure iron, black and hard and strong, yes, but brittle, the way iron gets. He'll break before he bends. And Renly, that one, he's copper, bright and shiny, pretty to look at but not worth all that much at the end of the day."

AdrianF

If there's no f-bomb by the end of this show I will be absolutely amazed, even though I too should know better!

PianoDean

"Mystical/Magical" As good a words as any, I guess....LOL

Philip Alan

The two birds she flipped is good enough for me. I really enjoyed that. Ha!

Mojo One Thousand

Although I have seen this before, it's been a while. So the events are familar, but for some of them I felt they occurred in later seasons. This is really seeming grim for our poor Cass-leesi, not too many silver linings for her so far.

John Doe

i find it funny how much you hate the Lannisters (understandably so) when that is 100% the house you most resemble 😂

keoma songs

I remember being delightfully surprised when I saw the actor was Julian Glover. If you want to see him as a young man in a great sci-fi movie, watch QUATERMASS AND THE PIT (1967). It's technically the third movie in the QUATERMASS series but you don't need to have watched the previous movies or tv series versions to enjoy it, it's quite standalone.

Clarence Newman

We've definitely entered a grim period of the show here, and this was the first block of two episodes I feel Cassie had little to no enjoyment of (ie fun, not just engrossment). Stories like this are rollercoasters, though. Tides ebb and flow and nothing ever stays in one place. That's the magic of it. I feel for Cassie at the moment. She was very distracted at points during her intros and that's probably due to a general low spirit. As she says herself, it will be nice to have some wins, but I'm certain there are plenty coming. That's not a spoiler for this show. It's a spoiler for life. "Life is 10% what happens to us and 90% how we react to it." "There are moments in life when you think you won't survive. And then you survive." "You will have your bad times, but they will always wake you up to the things you weren't paying attention to." "They are ill discoverers that think there is no land, when they can see nothing but sea." "Life is like driving a car at night. You can never see further than your headlights, but you can make the whole trip that way."

Clarence Newman

I think so. I hope it doesn't spoil birth scenes for her.

Clarence Newman

How can you not love Arya? Delightful little spitfire, but even now, quite a few compelling layers.

Clarence Newman

Yeah, lots of setting up going on, which is inevitable given that four kings are vying for the throne and there's 20 more notable characters jostling for position. It's not exactly in a fun period right now, but nevertheless..... what a great show this is.

Clarence Newman

Miami being stomped by Buffalo, though. Does that make it better or worse?

Clarence Newman

For anyone not already locked into the spoiler rules and the spirit behind them, this exchange between Edgar and Dave (a mod and therefore a trusted member of Cassie's Small Council) is just about perfect.

Cole Jennett

Miami wasn’t stomped by Buffalo surprisingly. They were right with them stride for stride until a late interception basically ended it

Joe J

Davos be like "Damn, I can't unsee that". 😆

Clarence Newman

She could be a Targaryen, I suppose. White of hair, mother to a dragon and all that. She's not hardened like Danerys yet, but she's getting there.

Clarence Newman

Yeah. And I get the feeling Davos has seen pretty much everything.

Kyle K

The night is dark and full of terrors

Clarence Newman

I think it would need to be ripped out of her suddenly, just like the S-word was way back in Lord of the Rings. When Bilbo suddenly turns into a demon-faced beast after seeing the ring around Frodo's neck (31:28 of her solo Fellowship YT), there's no way she didn't complete the bad word.

Cole Jennett

When she read the note, I believe on the TGWTDT reaction, it had two swear words and she had no warning whatsoever there would be swears in it and she still edited them out in her head while reading it. The only way it happens is if she gets tongue tied and something comes out that sounds like a swear. I believe that happened in True Detective once.

Clarence Newman

Dammit, I forgot it was Friday. I haven't seen the game yet! My bad. I was expecting a stomping because they lost to my flaky Patriots at the weekend.

Bill Maurer

The 'Phins put up a fight, that is for sure. Not sure if that will help their HC keep his job or not for the season

Clay F

She not enjoying how grim but she may be enjoying how engrossed she is. In any case, this was a great (rich) reaction - one of her best to me in GoT. The verbal and non-verbal communication combined with how interested she is — and her devouring of (taking in) the characters. I love that we have months of rich reactions to GoT episodes to come.

Clay F

WONDER WOMAN (2017) - strong 2nd place. I suggest to separate Wonder Woman (2017) [RT=93%] from the rest of the DCEU and focus on reacting to Wonder Woman (2017) due to Wonder Woman (2017) No. 19 rank at Popcorn Requests and due to Wonder Woman (2017) strong 2nd place finish in the poll (results below) a couple of weeks ago. Less than 1% difference between Wonder Woman (2017) and The Accountant (2016). August 25, 2025 Poll Results 1. The Accountant (2016) - 386 *2. Wonder Woman (2017) - 364 3. Dr Strangelove (1964) - 316 4. Short Circuit (1986) - 303 5. Sixteen Candles (1984) - 274 6. Jackie Brown (1997) - 270 7. Panic Room (2002) - 264 8. Donnie Brasco (1997) - 155 9. Moonstruck (1982) - 153 Plus, Wonder Woman (2017) should be watched before other DCEU movies based on DCEU chronology. React to Wonder Woman (2017) now and then take the break from DCEU you mentioned. I will watch your reaction to Justice League (2021) when that happens.

Mark White

I agree Clarence, Cassie seams a little out of sorts, as you say, distracted, at the mo. It’s a shame we are heading into October, because a little bit of Clyde would put a smile back on Cassie face. Slightly of topic, but how happy are you for next weeks line up Clarence? “The Fly” “Duel” and more Got?! Should be a awesome week on PiB!

Above Average Dave

Please. The entire show is about Podrick "The Great".

Christian Becker

I am always amazed at that. You have to learn to think "fetch" and "darn" and "frigg". I can't imagine that you think FU**, then pause and remember that you do not swear and then say frigg. I know I couldn't, so I don't give a F- word :-)

Christian Becker

So I restrained myself from watching the reactions to season 2 so far. So now for some first class four episodes of Joffrey like enjoyment in watching someone squirm. MUHaHHAAHAA - Ups sorry! It's not October yet.

Clarence Newman

That would be a great week, although I haven't seen confirmation of it yet. Gotta be honest, I'm a little nervous about her reaction to The Fly. I always feel partially responsible if I've pushed a film and I really want her to enjoy it for the pure horror ride it is rather than be messed up by it. It's a doozy, so I really hope she takes my advice and watches it as a matinee, so she has a few hours for the imagery to fade before she tries to sleep. Over-protective, I know, but help it I cannot. Don't think she'll be watching The Fly yet, though. I kind of expect it to drop at the back end of October. Duel should be just over the horizon.

Mark White

This is in the weekly update from Tuesday. “Next week will be Duel (with Carly) as well as we are going to do an Extra Butter watch-along for The Fly (hopefully I don't regret that haha) The watch along will be TUESDAY 9/23 at 7:30pm MST-bring your brownpaper bags to breathe into!” So hopefully next week! 🤞

Clarence Newman

Ah yes. I've been buried in work this week because I'm off to Cancun next week, so I missed that. Won't be able to watch the full reactions till I get back but I'll be drunk most of the time so I'll probably survive. And when I *do* get back, my boss better not expect me to start working for a few days because I'll have some back to backs to catch up with.

Mark White

Have a good one mate. ☀️🍹🏖️

Night King01

General Veers and Walter Donovan. This guy is a staple of nerd culture.

MertzRocks

NOW he has, yeah... 😜😱💀

Connor P

I think I saw the editors cut after she said "no spoilers" at the start - good thinking!

Rick Williams

Good Reactions Cassie. Interesting episodes. It is not a very nice world they live in.

Connor P

also, the sync is a bit off. her reaction is a few sectinds behind the show. noticible around 23"00 when shae comes in

Cole Jennett

It fixes itself within about 5 minutes

JohnnyUtah

It was my favorite show when it aired, it's my favorite show now!

Baldemort

I am in love with how much Cassie already hates Little Finger. I never seen anybody hate him so quickly before xD

Clarence Newman

About 9 hours, Flag. Not looking forward to that part of it. Two weeks though so it should be worth it.

Mike Lemon

"Stannis is pure iron, black and hard and strong, yes, but brittle, the way iron gets." How did I miss that when I watched the show? (metallurgy tangent) Pure iron isn't brittle, it's relatively soft and malleable. It isn't until an iron alloy gets to about 3% carbon that it starts getting brittle. Steel is just-over-0% to 2% carbon. Some other fast facts just because they dive me nutty- It's stain-less not stain-proof. Stainless steel does rust and cleaning your pans with a brillo pad can cause it. "Carbon steel" is just normal steel (ie. not-stainless). Boasting that your new pan is carbon steel is just silly. Wrought iron hasn't been made commercially for over 100 years- your new fence isn't wrought iron, neither is your patio furniture.

Gray

Such a good show if a little grim in these recent episodes lots of torture and throats being sliced, though pretty funny seeing her light up at Robb talking to Talisa. Like other's have said probably the first birth scene she's watched with horror instead of crying joy. Tiny bit annoying with the sync issues but no big deal i just do it to the reactions to what was said in a scene.

Jason Dolan

i think you should go ahead and use the counter for the recap because when you have the counter at 00:00 it's literally at the 2:07 mark of the video so if we are using the counter to line up, it is actually not helpful when you don't start the counter for the recap

Gray

Or do two counters one for recap and then for when it starts, I along with others are watching on blu ray or other streaming so don't have a recap at all.

Jason Dolan

Oh I guess that makes sense. I mean we do have the visual cue so really one or the other - I would just guess the majority of people doing the FWA are watching like Cassie on HBOMAX

James M

Also... WW is the only DC movie that's actually good (yea I said it) Okay I know people like some of the others, but I think they really are not good movies.

Jason Dolan

You know what also could always help is if Cassie announces out loud every time PREVIOUSLY ON GAME OF THRONES so hbomaxers know when to hit start while waiting for the blue prayers to get their time codes

Brian's Dog

Kaleesi: I can't show you the dragons right now, we had to save the budget for the last scene.

Clay F

"Can she not find someone not related?"

Bekka NoyB

After this Cass should really check out Ted Lasso (if she hasn't seen already/didn't see on her Letterboxd). Didn't see any place to request show, but doubt I'm only one who thinks it be perfect show for her to watch. Just saying

Joe J

She's watched it off channel...but her Letterbox isn't always up to date.

Cole Jennett

Yeah it’s a shame that she has already watched it off channel. Same goes for Shrinking.

Maisie

Her comments about Cersei crack me upppp

Chris B.

Fun tidbit: Jack Gleeson initially retired from acting after his playing of Joffrey, and only somewhat recently began taking roles again. I consider his portrayal of Joffrey as a testament to his deep talent as an actor, as by all accounts Jack in real life is a very thoughtful, caring and kind person himself.
