This was fun and bright and felt like comics coming to life! Luthors motives in every Superman movie I watch don’t make a ton of sense to me but I think that’s part of the craziness! I thought David C and his dimple were a great SUPERMAN! Sorry this was so delayed. We'll have "In the name of the Father" up for you tomorrow, thanks for your patience!

Ike

Yes! This is my Superman.

Edgar Gonzalez

OMG, i saw this in theaters, and all i got to say is... FUCK YEAH! (I said it for you Cassie) You are the BEST CASS! 🦸‍♂️

Anthony Carlson

This was actually one of the better films to came out this summer! As much as I enjoyed Henry Cavill as Superman, getting back to the comic aspects as well as a lighter tone was the right call. Christopher Reeves still is the best Superman IMO. I do like Lois Lane in this one a lot.

djKENTO

Okay so the continuity for this film starts with the movie THE SUICIDE SQUAD from 2021 directed by James Gunn. That started as part of the Henry Cavill DC universe you’ve bene watching but because James Gunn is now in charge at DC that’s his starting point. That movie leads into the TV show Peacemaker with John Cena in the lead. That show also started as part of the previous universe/continuity. THEN the animated tv show Creature Commandos, which is the first part of the new DCU, then Superman (this movie) and then Peacemaker Season 2 which picks up right after this movie. SO As you continue the previous film continuity/Universe you will eventually merge into this new one.

James UK

I’m almost certainly in a minority here but I thought it was only ok, no more. I guess ultimately, while there have been superhero movies I’ve enjoyed, I’m not really a superhero movie guy. Obviously they’re universe building here, but if I’m watching a Superman movie I don’t need to see other random superheroes I’ve no interest in. That said David Corenswet was fine as superman but I thought the star was Rachel Brosnahan who ‘was’ Lois Lane. Lots of people seemed to love this, which is great, but it’s not my thing. Edited to add: it did make me look forward to the Supergirl movie though.

Clay F

+1 for Rachel Brosnahan

Charles Briggs

I'm glad you ladies loved it but for me this is easily not only the worst Superman film yes worse than Superman IV: The Quest for Peace (1987) but one of the worse DC films period up there with Batman and Robin (1997) and Catwoman (2004) David Corenswet was just bland as Superman he came across heavily emotional and childish and emasculated Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane was okay but she's no Amy Adams she was meh and James Gunns directing was like nails on a chalkboard just infuriating with his constant corny jokes and don't get me started on Mr. Terrific character being a borderline racist/stereotype character having him talk like he's straight out of blaxploitation film from the 70's but anyway Henry Cavill will always be my Superman and i hope you and Carly continue on with his movies which would be Zack Snyder's Justice League (2021) and Wonder Woman (2017) is definitely worth a watch even thou carly has seen it already ✌️

The Star Treker (aka Michael)

Yes Cassie!! You finally watched and reacted to the most comic-accurate Superman movie we've ever gotten — and I loved every second of it. I hope you caught both post-credit scenes, because they were such a fun touch. Honestly, Krypto completely stole the show for me (in the best way), and Mr. Terrific was such a standout as the supporting character. But the whole cast brought their A-game — especially David Corenswet. He is Superman, and that little speech at the end sealed it. Him and Rachel Brosnahan both have a great chemistry together! I love her as Lois Lane! And that surprise appearance of Supergirl at the end? Absolutely perfect. I cannot wait for her movie next year!

Philip Alan

Let’s gooooo!! P.S. maybe a different placement of the microphones would be good? The camera keeps focusing on them and then you become blurry. Not a big deal, just a little suggestion. :)

The Star Treker (aka Michael)

Look, I can tell this movie just hits differently for you, but calling Superman (2025) one of the worst films ever is honestly way off the mark. This is hands down the most true-to-the-comics Superman we've seen in a long time, capturing the spirit of the character better than anything since Christopher Reeve—and definitely better than the darker, grittier take Henry Cavill brought in Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice or Zack Snyder's Justice League. That movie was great in its own way, but it's not the real Superman vibe the fans crave. David Corenswet's portrayal? Totally misunderstood if you think he was bland or childish. He brings a fresh energy that feels sincere and faithful to what Superman stands for—hope, kindness, strength without arrogance. And Rachel Brosnahan as Lois? She's not Amy Adams, sure, but she nails a more grounded, smart, natural Lois which fits the tone perfectly. As for Mr. Terrific being a stereotype? That's a complete misunderstanding. The character is layered, respectful, and not some caricature from a 70's blaxploitation flick. People who say that clearly didn't catch the nuance or maybe just want to dismiss it without giving it a fair shot. Respect to Henry Cavill and Zack Snyder's films—they have their place and fans—but let's not pretend they corner the market on Superman's essence. I love Christopher Reeve, Tyler Hoechlin, and now David Corenswet even Tom Welling from Smallville because each brings something unique and true to Clark Kent and Superman without twisting the core. So yeah, I get you didn't vibe with this one, but calling it worse than Superman IV: The Quest for Peace, Batman & Robin, or Catwoman is just way off. This movie gets Superman in a way most iterations haven't for years.

Erik Locquiao

I loved this movie. They finally captured who Superman is and what he represents. I cried multiple times. My dad would’ve loved this, Superman was his all time favorite.

Clay F

Rachel Brosnahan (who played Lois) is awesome as the lead in "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" series (2017-2023). That series grabs you from the first episode. She is also good in "The Courier" (2021) w/Benedict Cumberbatch.

Uncle Phoenix

Love these comments, because they totally remind me of the fans of the actual comics who all have their favorite artists who all did their own different versions of the original comics. 🤙🏼

Philip Alan

Hawkgirl was a miss for me. But boy, I REALLY enjoyed Green Lantern & Mr. Terrific. And Metamorpho was fine. I thought it was a good balance of Superman story & Justice Gang story. I was skeptical at first, but I really liked the additional superheroes.

Shawn Kildal

The #4 Robot (now named Gary) was voiced by Alan Tudyk. Cassie would best know him as Wash from Firefly. The actor who played Jonathan Kent, Superman's Earth father, I've seen in a couple of things. He was in the HBO western Deadwood and also played a fake sympathetic prisoner to trick Sydney in an episode of Alias.

Chris Thom

Had a touch of ESP when that Ryan Murphy show Hollywood first aired. Knew D. Corenswet would eventually get the Superman role after one episode. Interested to see this one. About to start it.

Shawn Kildal

Not a fan of this Luthor either. The two best ones for me are from Smallville and Superman: The Animated Series.

Shawn Kildal

The first time I saw Brosnahan in that show I thought to myself she looked like the perfect Lois Lane.

Walter

Pruitt Taylor Vince - and Cassie saw him in Constantine!

Walter

The animated series was fantastic. And Clancy Brown is THE voice for Luthor, in my opinion.

Walter

I love this movie! For me, this is the Superman I always wanted to see in live action. I love his heart. The world is weird and fantastical - just like the comics I enjoyed the most.

Shawn Kildal

Didn't think of that one. I know Cassie had recently watched ALIAS which why I mentioned it.

KingofCoo1

Nah, it stinks. This isn't Superman, this is Star Lord in a Superman costume. Gunn pretty much writes every character the same way. Comic accurate? I don't remember Superman saying, "Dude," too much or being called a bitch in the comics. He spends 85 percent of the film laying on the ground hurt. We get it Gunn, you don't like the character, you want to write about misfits again. We get to see Superman kicked in the groin too, just to top it off. Ugh. Everyone who likes this never thought of Superman as their favorite character because this isn't Superman. Hey David, play Superman and Clark Kent as two different characters you moron. Not as just one childlike whiny bitch. Why does he trust everybody? He's a 30 year old man who grew up on earth and has met people like Luthor already. Why is he so trusting then? Is he mentally challenged or something? Coming from those parents that raised him, he might be because they seem like they are. Why do they have a southern accent. Kansas isn't in the south!

Clay F

I liked it. I liked Corenswet as Superman. Full of heart. I especially liked Rachel Brosnahan as Lois. (Though I also have a soft spot for Amy Adams.) Nicholas Hoult was convincing as Lex Luthor. Good actor. Nathan Fillion (of Firefly fame) was interesting as the pompous Guy Gardner. Good seeing the cute Isabela Merced from Last of Us -- here Hawkgirl? That was cool getting the tease of Supergirl at the end. Supergirl movie to be released June 26, 2026. You missed the 2 credit scenes - didn't seem that important? The first only like 2 seconds. Enjoyed your reaction. My ranking (how entertaining to me) of superhero movies I’ve watched: 1. The Dark Knight trilogy. 9/10 2. The Batman (2022). 8/10 3. Wonder Woman (2017). 8/10 4. Superman (1978). 7/10 5. Batman (1966). 7/10 *6. Superman (2025). 7/10 7. Superman Returns. 6/10 8. Man of Steel. 6/10 9. Superman 2 (1980). 4/10. 10. Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (1993). 4/10 11. BvS (2016) (Ultimate Edition). 3/10 12. Batman Returns (1992). 3/10 13. Batman (1989). 2/10

Chris Thom

Good lighting in the theater room btw. Looks nice.

bgb1975 (Brian)

I guess it depends on the comics you're familiar with. This version is not even close to the comics I grew up with. Not a fan, here. I miss Richard Donner, truth, justice and the American way!

bgb1975 (Brian)

Not sure about Superman IV, but Superman III, with all its flaws, easily blows this one away.

Just Plain Bob

Clancy Brown = grossly underrated as an actor

Shehab Dawoud

I liked this very much, but some things were off-putting to me. The overly bright colors and the effects made it feel like a live-action cartoon, like you mentioned. Or a video game. The Boravia conflict is obviously a reference to what is happening in a certain part of the world right now. However, I thought it was very surface-level. They could've unpacked that or gone deeper, especially as the movie is under 2 hours. There was time. I liked Corenswet very much. I felt like he was a nice mix of Reeve and Cavill. I'm looking forward to the next one called 'Man of Tomorrow', where it sounds like Lex and Superman might have to work together in some capacity.

Shehab Dawoud

As for Lex, he has some practical motivations, but what it boils down to more than anything is that he's just a top-tier hater. That's the way he is in the comics, and Nicholas Hoult brought that to life on the screen as well as you could. Some of his lines were absolutely hilarious, talking about secret harems and calling Superman a patronizing clown after he just delivered that heartwarming speech. Great stuff.

The Star Treker (aka Michael)

I honestly don't get how you can't like Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor. He literally pulled inspiration from Smallville's Lex — Michael Rosenbaum himself even talked with him before he took on the role. And the irony? Michael Rosenbaum actually shows up in the movie too, as one of the Raptors from Planet Watch. I swear I caught his voice in that scene with Mr. Terrific and Lois, and later a YouTuber confirmed it. For me, the top Lex Luthors will always be Michael Rosenbaum, Michael Cudlitz, Nicholas Hoult, and of course Clancy Brown. Michael Cudlitz (from Superman & Lois) nailed that colder, meaner, ruthless and serious version, while Clancy Brown will forever be iconic from Superman: The Animated Series, Justice League, and Justice League Unlimited. That one episode where Lex and The Flash swap bodies still cracks me up — Clancy Brown voicing Wally West/The Flash trapped in Lex's body, while Michael Rosenbaum voices Lex trapped in his body. And that bathroom scene? When someone asks if he's gonna wash his hands and The Flash-as-Lex goes, "No, because I'm evil." Cracks me up every time, one of the funniest and cheesiest moments in Justice League/Justice League Unlimited. Lol.

fromage

Not my favorite Superman movie, but my favorite Superman movie of the last 40 years, definitely. I especially like that Superman gets to actually be positive and funny in this, and he actually stands for something and believes in his cause from the getgo, not mope around for 2 hours.

Dan M

I’ve had no desire to see this movie since I first saw the trailer in theatres, for no other reason other than my wife and I have grown tired of the different reboots, retellings, and re-imaginations of the Superman and Batman stories. I still haven’t watched The Batman with Robert Pattinson for that exact reason, and in my head, no other movie is going to come close to being better than the Christopher Nolan trilogy. As far as Superman goes, Christopher Reeve is it for me, and Henry Cavill is a really, really close 2nd place. I didn’t really feel there was a need to make another Superman movie. We’ll give it a watch now that we can watch along with you and Carly, but I’m not getting my hopes up. The reviews have certainly been mixed from what I’ve seen and heard, and the comments on this post pretty much confirm this. I guess I’ll find out for myself tonight.

Choof

Way better than Man of Steel to me. It has the colors, cosmic goofiness and good nature of most of the superman comics. Superman actually got to be a fully fleshed out character with motivations because they didnt clog half the movie with origin story or shots of superman just kind of grumly looking around like in the Zack snyder movies. I know those movies have big fans, and I've been putting up with their overzealous fervor online for years, they can have those movies, I'm just fine having this and future superman movies in this universe

Just Plain Bob

I enjoyed this movie but didn’t really connect with the lead character. I suspect that has more to do with the writing than the acting, though. Reeves is still the best Superman I’ve seen with Cavill a close second. Rachel Brosnahan, on the other hand, is probably the best Lois yet (although I really liked Amy Adams, too). I thought Nathan Fillion as the Guy Gardner version of Green Lantern absolutely stole every scene he was in. I agree with another patron that said Hawkgirl was a miss for him. She was for me, too. And I’d be interested to see a Mr. Terrific movie. I feel like there’s a lot to unpack there. All that said, I did think one of the mistakes the movie made was loading it up with too many characters. Too much world building and not enough focus on Superman and his immediate circle. But it was really nice to see a Superman that cared about saving those around him again, instead of raining destruction on Metropolis without concern for the victims of the chaos.

Jenny_M

My absolute favorite Supes since the 70s, and I say that as a huge fan of the comics and the 1950s TV series. It nails so much about who Superman is and what he means to me. I’m at the beach this week and can’t watch, but I have a date with this and your reaction on Saturday night when I get home!

fromage

I guess the only 'issue' I had with this movie is the idea that a bad guy getting exposed on the news about their bad deeds would change anything at all.

Kawaii Leonard

Young miss Supergirl (Milly Alcock) has a connection to the series you are currently watching, Game of Thrones. She is one of the prominent characters, and her breakout role, in the prequel series House of the Dragon.

Jacob King

Mr Terrific is not a stereotypical portrayal of a black superhero. I get that you didn’t like the movie but that’s a really strange take.

Jacob King

Love this movie. Carly’s comment that it’s like a comic book brought to life is pretty much how I feel. The thing I really like is that it shows Superman working with other heroes and his colleagues. Superman’s greatest strength is his relationships. It gives me hope that we’ll see the Bat-family in a movie one day.

The Star Treker (aka Michael)

Well it feels like Superman straight out of many of the comics (I admit haven't read all of them but remember reading one where him and Lois get married for the first time ever, "The Wedding Album") and cartoons to me where I got really familiar with him and most of his villains (my favorites by far are Lex Luthor, Brainiac and Darkseid even honor mentions Doomsday, Metallo, Parasite, Bizzarro, Ultra-Man the evil doppelganger of Superman and General Zod) — Superman: The Animated Series (even crossover episodes with Batman: The Animated Series and Batman Beyond), Justice League, Justice League Unlimited, and My Adventures with Superman (which I absolutely love).

Walter

Hoult is my absolute favorite Luthor. He perfectly embodies the genius and megalomania of the character.

Chris Thom

The flying scenes with the weird camera angles on their foreheads was kind of an odd choice.

Chris Thom

It's pretty good. Definitely strikes a quirky tone. Kind of feels like a TV version of Superman and characters. Seems similar in style to the Guardians of the Galaxy films.

Chris Thom

She's freakishly good in Maisel. Feel exhausted for her just watching a few scenes of that.

Chris Thom

Green Lantern was fun. Nathan Fillion was pretty perfect for that.

Jared Petty

Carly, thanks for representing those of us who can't sit comfortably in bed! We are legions!

Chris Thom

James Gunn was a bit of an odd choice. Feel like his wheelhouse might be more quirky, lesser-known Marvel/DC characters. Some things about it worked alright. The deepfake with Clark's parents was timely and appropriate. Actually felt worried for his acceptance on earth with that. Lex continues his streak of being totally insufferable in every iteration. I always find it so hard to believe that Supes hasn't snapped his neck yet and found a way to make it look like an accident.

ShadowStunts

My absolute favorite Superman movie. In a world filled with sarcasm and not taking anything seriously, seeing a character this caring about others is so refreshing. Unlike Cavill who let civilians die so he could look cool. The best live action version of Lex as well. You don't get closer to a perfect comic book movie than this. The DCU is in the most capable hands and I see it easily becoming bigger and better than the MCU ever was. James Gunn's other projects in the DCU so far have been great too and all deserve a watch. The Suicide Squad(2021), Peacemaker and Creature Commandos.

Chris Thom

Wonder if they'll ever put the other kinds/colors of kryptonite in a movie.

Mojo One Thousand

Pretty Taylor Vince was also in "Identity", which Cassie has watched on the channel. Forgot he was in "Deadwood", now GoT is on the channel it would be a future suggestion for me.

Walter

some of them get pretty crazy, so it could be interesting

Cole Jennett

Pruitt Taylor Vince was the insane guy in Identity, and also plays the bartender in Beautiful Girls so I will always recognize him in movies.

Richard Maurer

Best Superman movie ever. Best Superman ever. IMO.

Cole Jennett

Diirk706, remove your comment. That’s twice you’ve done this. We can have healthy debate, but name calling won’t be tolerated.

Richard Maurer

Why do Snyder fans feel like they have to attack this movie, and James Gunn? Snyderverse is over. Even if this movie was a failure, which it wasn’t, and they dropped Gunn, they still wouldn’t bring back Snyder. The DCEU wasn’t working, the last half dozen movies (at the least) tanked. It’s time to move on. Trashing Gunn and this movie isn’t going to change that.

Stick Figure Studios

I Saw this in the theater with my wife and we both just loved it. I think it is the best Superman movie since the 1978 original. I figured you and Carly would like this. Can't wait to watch the reaction.

ArsTropica

Not a Superman fan before this film. This made it clear that he has been one of the most misrepresented characters in fiction. Really like JG's take on his character.

Charles Briggs

Wow somebody is very triggered weren't you on the Man of Steel and Batman V Superman Ultimate Edition reactions commenting how much you thought those movies sucked which you are entitled to your opinion but when i voice my opinion on this particular film there's a problem sounds a little hypocritical to me and as far as the snyderverse is concerned the films that tanked Zack Snyder had absolutely nothing to do with the only films i consider part of his canon/universe is Man of Steel (2013) Batman V Superman (2016) Suicide Squad (2016) Wonder Woman (2017) Zack Snyder's Justice League, (2021) and Aquaman (2018) and all those were massively successful at the box office everything that came after that was WB and Walter Hamada James Gunn creations with no Zack Snyder involvement which is the reason they bombed oh and one last thing James Gunn Superman (2025) is actually not successful it sold half the tickets Man of Steel did and even without adjusting for inflation at the box office Man of Steel still beats it so get out of your feelings champ respectfully

Charles Briggs

So him talking like a jive talking stereotype from a bad blaxploitation from the 70's is not at all racist yeah okay 🙄 and on top of that actor playing the character is a continental african not a black american which adds more injury to insult

Mojo One Thousand

There was a lot of this that I knew both ladies would enjoy, particularly the "Kents", and the love story. Feel sorry for Brandon Routh, basically every other actor that Cassie has watched as "Superman" got mentioned, but he is the forgotten man... likely because he was in a average, bland movie that is largely forgettable, despite him not being terrible. I thought Nicholas Hoult's "Lex" was pretty good, better than Jesse Eisenberg's, but I'm still more on the side of Hackman's "Lex". There were some throw backs to the Donner films here as well, with the military invasion for prime real estate being similar to the original '78 film that was using nuclear weapons to do a similar job to get "Lex" some valuable land. Also the return of "Eve Teschmacher" and "Otis Berg". Not being a comic book person, I am sure that the "Ultraman" story is from there, but it was also done I the "Superman IV" in the '80s so the cloning twist was not really a surprise. I like that Wendall Pierce "Perry White" always get a "Greer" from Cassie. Rachel Brosnahan who played "Lois" is most well known for her lead role in " The marvellous Mrs. Maisel", but I first saw her in the first season of "House of cards". Isabela Merced "Hawkgirl" was correctly called out by Carly as being in "Instant family", not sure if Cassie has seen that, but is also the live action "Dora the Explorer". As James Gunn has done some other DC work (and is now the head) there are references here that go back to some his work in "The Suicide Squad", which is John Cena's "Peacemaker" character first appears, and Frank Grillo's character "Rick Flag" also appears. However, "Flag" is played by Joel Kinnaman, which was also carried over from the earlier "Suicide Squad"...very confusing. But well picked that Frank Grillo was in the MCU in the "Captain America" movies. I like that James Gunn's brother, Sean, was recognised from "The Gilmore Girls", although he often collaborates with James Gunn. Sean is all over the "Guardians of the Galaxy" movies in the MCU run by James. There were also other folks that James Gunn worked with from those movies, as Michael Rooker and Pom Klementief did voices for the "Superman" robots. Although "Gary/#4" is voiced by Alan Tudyk, who I think is just contracted to always be the voice of robots these days. Also, it isn't Lady Gaga who plays "Kal-El's" mother with Bradley Cooper as "Jor'El", her name is Angela Sarafyan, and I did also think for a second if it was Gaga.

bgb1975 (Brian)

@Chris - they kinda did in Superman III, which gets a lot more hate than it deserves.

Nathan Jasper

I love that Isabel Merced is finally getting noticed and getting amazing roles like Dina in Last of Us and Hawkgirl. I look forward to seeing where Gunn takes the character.

Walter

I feel like it gets the right amount of hate :)

Alex Gorell

This is honestly the first comic book movie where it actually felt like I was watching a comic book since the first Toby McGuire spider-man. That being said I am burnt out with superhero movies. This will probably be the last one I see for awhile.

Richard Maurer

For those who may not know, James Gunn directed all 3 Guardians films and wrote the first 2.

LukeG84

Great reaction. Though you guys missed two end credit scenes! A quick Google search before pressing stop on any movie is all I ask! 🙏🏻 If you want to watch the Peacemaker series (James Gunn said season two is a direct continuation from this movie), I highly recommend watching Suicide Squad (2016) and The Suicide Squad (2021) first. After Woman Woman and Zack Snyder's Justice League of course! P.s. I recommend watching Zack Snyder's Justice League in the PIB theatre. With a runtime of 4h 2m, it's a must for Carly Id' wager.

Richard Maurer

Never said MoS or BvS sucked (they don’t), did say they’re not as good as Gunn’s Superman (they’re not). Just find it odd people feel the need to trash Gunn’s films to feel better about Snyder getting canned, as if Gunn had something to do with it. Snyder was gone no matter what. I’m just glad they didn’t give it to Taika Waititi.

Johnny Bullis

Great reaction ladies.. James Gunn definitely knocked it out of the park with this one. Making Superman the symbol of hope that he is supposed to be. I do like the Snyderverse and will miss Henry Cavill but this is definitely the right direction for the new DCU. Having Supergirl at the end was cool, her movie comes out next summer and I cant wait. As for John Cena he is Peacemaker.. who was originally in the Snyderverse but since JG was behind that show and The Suicide Squad, he decided to make some things from that cannon in this new universe. I do recommend watching Peacemaker season 1 for context and then season 2 which is currently going on now on HBO Max.. but its not for kids.. The one thing I find weird is James Gunn said that Peacemaker season 2 is a continuation of Superman but he made the show a very hard R rated and not kid friendly in the slightest. As for that message from Supermans Kryptonian parents.. James Gunn did confirm it is authentic and not to get hung up on whether or not its fake. And you guys did miss the mid and end credit scenes.. they arent important to the story or set anything up.. but theyre worth watching once. Im glad you didnt wait to watch this.. this movie is hot right now on YT.. strike while the iron is hot.

Richard Maurer

As for the character of Mr Terrific, did a quick Google search and couldn’t find anyone really complaining about him being a “racist” portrayal, so I have no comment on that.

Gray

Oh dear The Incredibles didn't even make the list

Gray

That was good fun, I'd put this up there with the Christopher Reeve Superman's because of how much I enjoyed them. Although saying that I did like Cavill's portrayal. The special effects were stellar, I thought, and it was nice to see a superhero film in nice colour instead of grim darkness.

Philip Alan

They were definitely low tier post credit scenes. Not too important. So I forgave them real quick! 😛

LukeG84

Yeah but many times Cassie has missed some really good ones. Want her to get in the habit of checking before switching off.

Chris B.

Now that Cassie and Carly have seen this, I feel okay posting my thoughts about the movie. (I didn’t want to add to any negative voicing before they could watch and judge for themselves.) Outside of good casting all around, I was not a fan at all of Gunn’s Superman movie, and particularly loathed what he did with both sets of Clark’s parents in this. The Kents are portrayed as stupid & bumbling hick stereotypes that is common amongst the ivory-tower thinking from people who only know the major U.S cities in which they live; there was no attention given to their iconic American hopefulness and good morals that are so important with the Kents (outside of one brief moment with John Kent, which is then undercut by Martha being a one-note sarcasm machine). Jor and Lara are portrayed as amoral eugenicists, removing a key component of Superman’s core values as a proud son of both Krypton and Earth. Then there’s many smaller issues I have, like this Superman being constantly defensive and whiny, never a moment showing him as stoic and controlled (remember, Superman is so powerful that most often he has to behave like he lives in a world of cardboard or else needless destruction and death occurs from his own actions). I in particular didn’t care for how his and Lois’s relationship was portrayed. I could keep going on with this and the other big issues I feel the movie has, but I’ll leave it there. There was some good, to be fair. All the casting was great, Guy Gardner Green Lantern was actually really good, and the perfect amount of obnoxious to match his comic version. Some of Mr. Terrific’s story beats were good. But apart from those bits above, I think James Gunn’s writing and direction for this movie was pretty terrible, easily the worst he’s done that I can recall (his other superhero/genre stuff is so much more well-written and directed). My hope for the sequel is that the writer and director have a much better understanding and, more importantly, affection for the character of Superman. Based on this movie, it’s my opinion that Gunn clearly doesn’t have a genuine affection for nor understanding of what makes Superman such an important and distinctly American cultural icon. And that’s a shame, because I generally have been a fan of Gunn going back even as far as his Troma days. 🙁

bgb1975 (Brian)

How come? Most of the complaints I hear about it is that it's too much Richard Pryor and not enough Superman.

Walter

I mean, to each their own, but I didn't enjoy the Richard Pryor slapstick comedy in the movie. I found it too silly and out of place. I wanted a Superman movie and I got a Richard Pryor movie co-starring Superman. Just didn't work for me.

Chris Thom

Curious what you thought of Nick Hoult as Lex Luthor? Personally thought he was the character that most felt like a holdover from the Snyder portrayals. But with less Joker to him.

Chris Thom

Also felt like Hulk (2003) had a definite comic-book style to it. Complete with moving square panels.

Chris Thom

Oh I thought he got fired from the second for some reason. Vaguely remember him getting cancelled for a hot minute, and then reinstated later.

John P Tucker

This movie was hard for me to finish. 15 minutes in I was ready to turn it off but I forced myself to finish it, time I will never get back. It felt more like a parody, in the same vein as “Robin Hood: Men in Tights” than an actual Superman movie.

McShades

I have to disagree with you 100%, They showed his parents as very loving and down to earth, this is why Clark is the way he is. It's better than MOS where his dad is telling him to let kids die on a bus to hide who he is... I thought Lois and Clarks chemistry in this movie was amazing, especially compared to MOS where they had ZERO chemistry. As for Clarks real parents, it is comic accurate, there are versions of his parents that are evil. So it's not like Gunn made it up. As for Superman being beat up, well it was himself beating himself up, given the clone... But that aside I like that Gunn didn't show Superman as this all powerful god. I mean if he's that powerful then he should be able to just one punch everyone and the movie ends after 10 seconds... It's insane how some comics portray his power, being able to move planets, I mean come on... You can't have any suspense if your Hero is so much more powerful then everyone else. IMO Gunn nailed it perfectly... American cultural Icon? dude this is not the 50's, shouldn't Superman be for all of humanity and not just Americans?

Steve Smith

I was very disappointed in this movie. I didn't like the way they made Superman a baffoon, just what Marvel did to Thor.

Philip Alan

I enjoyed the editing from that movie, Chris.

Scott Macaulay

I have mixed feelings about this movie but it was fairly entertaining. Glad I didn't pay for it in the theater and waited for streaming. TBH I'm GenX and no one will ever beat Reeve, but that's me.

Stick Figure Studios

As much as I admire Nolan's trilogy.(and I really do, I don't mean to damn it with faint praise), I miss the more fantastic Batman universe of the Burton films.

Stick Figure Studios

I Don't like Hoult as much as Michael Rosenbaum or even Gene Hackman, but I think he's better than Jesse Eisenberg and probably about on par with Kevin Spacey (I never compare live action versions of thess characters with animated ones, so I won't even include Clancy Brown in the ranking).

Stick Figure Studios

Pruitt Taylor Vance is a wonderful actor, but has unfortunately been typecast as kind of dark, somewhat twisted characters (IDENTITY, CONSTANTINE, etc). This movie shows that he can be sweet and full of heart.

Stick Figure Studios

Loved that show. Loved her in it. When I heard she was cast as low as I knew she'd be perfect.

Stick Figure Studios

Yeah, "comic accurate" is a bit of a misnomer because every comic book movie is comic book accurate in some way or another. It's just a question of what aspects one prioritizes over others and which comics one is referring to since over the past century there have been many different iterations of these characters and stories.

Chris B.

@Chris Thom - Love Nick Hoult as an actor and had high hopes for his Lex, still do in the future but this movie wasn't it. The cast as a whole was great, just wish they had a better script and director who better understands Superman as a character for it. @McShade - Yes, he is a specifically-American icon still, despite how many cynics (often lacking in a moral center of their own) want to tear away his distinct identity and values in favor of making the character into an amorphous, bland duplicate that's easier for selling in the mass market even when parts of that market are antithetical to our way of life. As a character, Superman is the embodiment of the idyllic American dream known in the minds of so many people, not just from here but across the entire planet from the 19th century onwards to today, who believe in the sense of hard work and melting-pot culture that makes the USA known for being a land of opportunity. Clark being an American doesn't take away his Kryptonian heritage, nor does it mean that he cares less about the people of the world outside the US, but it does mean he's not some moral relativist who would believe something like the dystopian social-credit systems of modern day China are equal in value to the American bill of rights and all laws of the land deriving from something like that (or the Magna Carta if we want to go back farther). "Truth, justice, and the American way!" says everything about the character, and like a stool with three legs, if you take away one of those legs it no longer works. So there's my thoughts on that. You might disagree on them, and that's perfectly okay with me; I'm an American, and thus will always believe that people should be able to discuss any of their differences of opinion, disagree on any of those opinions, and still remain amicable or at least peaceable.

Mike Lemon

"he has to behave like he lives in a world of cardboard..." Fan of Justice League animated? That is in my top ten favorite episodes, maybe top five. "Gunn clearly doesn’t have a genuine affection nor understanding of what makes Superman..." Hasn't he said as much?

Clay F

I was never into superhero movies. Never read a comic book. Never into Superman (or superheroes generally). However, recently, I broke down in my old age to check out Superman movies -- to expand my horizon. I fully watched 6 Superman movies (all in the last 2 years). I was 15 in 1978 when Superman (1978) released and had no interest. I caught bits and pieces of Superman (1978) over the decades but didn't do a first full watch of Superman (1978) [my first full watch of a Superman movie] until 2 years ago (w/Cassie's reaction). I liked Superman (1978). I definitely no expert on Superman or any superhero. Below are the 6 Superman movies I fully watched in my life (all in last 2 years) - ranked by how entertaining I found them. 1. Superman (1978). 7/10 *2. Superman (2025). 7/10 3. Superman Returns. 6/10 4. Man of Steel. 6/10 5. Superman 2 (1980). 4/10 6. BvS (2016) (Ultimate Edition). 3/10

Chris B.

@Mike Lemon - Absolutely, I love what they did with the animated Justice League Unlimited world (Batman TAS/Superman TAS/Batman Beyond/Static Shock/JLU) and think it's the perfect example for how good comic book adaptations can be when made with care and love. Regarding Gunn's previous comments: you're right, I do recall him mentioning something of that sort when he was initially coming on to act as creative head of all the DC movies, but I guess I'd hoped that would change as he began to write and direct the movie himself. IMO that didn't happen, but with as good as the casting was for this, I think with a different writer and director, the sequel could be as strong of a movie as Raimi's Spider-Man 2 or the original Donner Superman.

Silver Machine

This film suffers from TOO MUCH PLOT, a chronic problem with James Gunn scripts. BUT he absolutely nails the characters better than any Superman movie since Christopher Reeve's debut. AND he got the tone just right – wondrous, fun, earnest, and kind-hearted. Lois, Jimmy and all the Daily Planet stuff were really great. Loved all of them flying the spaceship at the end – very comic book-y! And I was expecting to not like Lois knowing Superman's identity, but they had great chemistry and now I want to see more – something I haven't said after watching a live-action Superman movie since 1980. Up, up and away!

Clay F

@Chris Thom -- I thought Nick Hoult was excellent as Lex Luthor.

Cole Jennett

Thor was kind of boring in the first 2 solo films and Avengers movies, and the change they made to his character worked awesome in Ragnorok through End Game. They just went too far with it in Love & Thunder.

Cole Jennett

I like to think all the hate this movie gets is genuine, but I kind of get the feeling that it’s just bitter Snyder fans. I didn’t love it, but i liked it and I definitely don’t understand the hate.

Just Plain Bob

Cassie asked our opinions, so here’s my rankings of the three major Superman characters/actors (movies only). Superman/Clark Kent 1. Christopher Reeve - best written character of all the movies and perfectly embodied by a man who literally seemed born for the role 2. (tie) Henry Cavill - writing 2/10; Cavill as Superman 8/10 2. (tie) David Corenswet - charismatic Boy Scout Superman is back; I wish Cavill had an opportunity to play the hopeful/optimistic version of the character 4. Brandon Routh - Superman as a stalker; creepy; Routh was ok but bland Lois Lane 1. Rachel Brosnahan - very believable as a smart, capable, sexy Lois Lane; what Superman WOULDN’T fall in love with this version? 2. Amy Adams - the first Lois to figure out Superman’s secret identity; I believe she’s a Pulitzer Prize winning investigative reporter 3. Margot Kidder - she was good, but a bit too world-weary/cynical for my taste 4. Kate Bosworth - lacked the gravitas to pull off the character; was too young for the part - how old was she when she won the Pulitzer - twelve? Lex Luthor 1. Gene Hackman - he has so much charisma, you almost find yourself rooting for him and his monstrous plan; never cared for the character’s obsession with land ownership 2. Nicholas Hoult - when he admits that his hatred of Superman is rooted in envy, I believe it; I don’t like using artsy fartsy lingo to describe acting, but it was there in the subtext of his characterization throughout the movie 3. Kevin Spacey - probably my least favorite performance of his career; felt like a discount version of Gene Hackman’s Luthor; would be my least favorite if not for the next one 4. Jesse Eisenberg - one of the worst performances ever captured on film, of any character; felt like he got confused and thought he was playing the Joker; I suspect he was attempting to steal scenes by playing the character as a twitchy nutjob - if so, it backfired massively

Clay F

I enjoyed Thor: Ragnarok (2017). Different -- that's why I liked it. I took my girlfriend to see Thor: Ragnarok (2017) in the theater at her request and was pleasantly surprised. I am not a superhero aficionado.

Canadianant

Overall I'm pretty positive on this one . The good I loved the dog. Lois was good. Decent superman although a bit whiny at times. Good lex . I loved the positive aspect of this . The not as good while I don't mind the comic book aspects of this it was a bit cartoony in spots for me. Some of the characters really were caricatures at times. The Kent's were pretty terrible in this regard. I felt they really did them a disservice with this portrayal. I as to the story I felt a little disjointed having been thrown directly into the action here. Where as I recognize that in this world, everyone is used to superheroes and the supernatural aspects of life in metropolis, I felt it was a bit jarring for us to be thrown directly into it. I certainly didn't need an origin story but just felt a little disoriented. I'm curious to see where else James gun goes with this but it's certainly an ambitious start and I will say I kind of preferred this to the super dark Snyder verse take

Silver Machine

Yes, I'm looking forward to that show! James Gunn's take on Jimmy is similar to what Jack Kirby did when he worked on the "Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen" comic book in the 1970s – made him cool and confident. It was in those Jimmy Olsen comics that Kirby began to build his vast Fourth World/New Gods mythology, including the ultimate villain of the DC universe... Darkseid. I'm hoping Gunn has a similar plan for the TV show.

Philip Alan

P.S.S. That was SUPERGIRL at the end there. (Superman's Cousin from Krypton). Her movie comes out next year. :)

Philip Alan

Love & Thunder was a disaster. Ragnorok is up there with one of my favorite Marvel movies.

Just Plain Bob

When asked why Supergirl was the next movie to be released in the DCU, James Gunn gave the best answer a producer could give to such a question. He said it was the best fully developed script they had available at this time. Imagine that, scheduling a movie for production and release because of the quality and readiness of the material instead of a mindless cash grab with no thought to the future effect on the franchise and its quality. Shocking.

Philip Alan

Yup! Shocking! :) He has stated over and over again, he will NOT make a DCU movie just because. He has to LOVE the script. I admire that.

Philip Alan

Re: Jesse as Lex - I barely could stomach the speech at that event with Clark & Bruce (thank the heavens story kept cutting away from him). But, you never know when someone else (Cass & Carly) enjoys the performance. That's why I say just let them watch and make up their own minds.

Neill Shaughness

Ignore the haters. The Snyder fans are an unusually vocal fandom and are known for spamming the Internet with their Snyder loyalism. As a lifelong Superman fan, this feels far closer to the comics than Man of Steel

Cole Jennett

Not sure I’d call it a disaster, I actually wouldn’t call any MCU movie a disaster, but it was definitely a miss. Only disaster for me was Secret Invasion

Brent bmc_comix

Love this movie! Truest Superman we've had in awhile! 😊

Stick Figure Studios

I think coming out of an era of DC movies that took themselves SOOOOOO incredibly seriously, anything with a more lighthearted, even goofy, touch to it probably feels comparatively like a parody.

Ren Maddox

Frank Grillo's "Rick Flag" is Joel Kinnaman's "Rick Flag"'s father.

K, Zachary

So yeah we liked this one vs Man Of Steel. It's a draw. Of course I had to wait for the gf to get off of work to watch this. It's all about compromise. Then I get a notification about The Fly. She said I can have that one. Yes I think the Simpsons did copy that one. The girl who came in at the end his cousin. She is in House Of The Dragon ( GOT spin-off) and Sirens. My gf loved that show. Actually both shows..... (cough) yes well anyway. It was fun to see the GOAT girls watching another great DC flick. Much respect to Ben for getting this fixed quickly. You girls were great. Now I guess it's bedtime. I can watch the Fever game with it on mute. So she can sleep. Well ladies it's been fun. Watching the latest Superman with you. Catch you on The Fly?

The Star Treker (aka Michael)

Calling Michael Holt/Mr. Terrific a stereotype is just absurd. That's like saying T'Challa as Black Panther, John Stewart as Green Lantern, Miles Morales as Spider-Man, Ororo Munroe as Storm, or Sam Wilson as Falcon/Captain America are stereotypes too — which is ridiculous. In the new Superman movie, Michael Holt is actually really accurate to the comics, with that cool mix of 70s-inspired style and modern flair. Honestly, this is my favorite version of him. I also enjoyed his takes in Arrow and Justice League Unlimited, but here he really shines. There's nothing stereotypical about him at all — he's a strong, brilliant character with a sense of humor like the rest. Saying otherwise is way out of proportion and, honestly, total bs.

TinCan Cosmanaut

The best out of all the Henry cavil Superman’s is Justice League. It’s like watching all the marvel movies and skipping EndGame Or watching Lord of the Rings and skipping the Ending. Last one is best. Please give it a try

Richard Maurer

Agree 100%. There’s a reason in the comics other hero’s sometimes call him “the Big Blue Boy Scout”. Snyder’ s grittier version is fine for what it was. But Gunn’s Superman is much closer to what he’s supposed to be.

Richard Maurer

There’s definitely some of the same manufactured hate online that Marvel films get, plus the added Snyder fan hate because they can’t accept that the Snyder era is over. The angry monkey-bots in the film were a funny swipe at all this nonsense.

Richard Maurer

Love & Thunder is the only MCU movie I unapologetically hate. They tried to jam too many different comic plots in one movie (even worse than BvS did) then added a LOT of unfunny comedy on top of that. Just a mess of a movie.

Richard Maurer

There’s a lot of talk here about which movie version of Superman is the “most comic accurate”. The same with Batman also. The answer is none of them are, and all of them are. Truth is both Superman and Batman have been around (1938 & 39, respectively) longer than probably anyone here has been alive. And both characters have had many iterations - retcons, reboots, etc.. In the original Superman comics, Ma and Pa Kent didn’t exist (baby Superman was left at an orphanage), Lex Luthor wasn’t a thing, and Superman couldn’t even fly. In the original Batman comics Batman carried a gun and routinely killed criminals. And along with the many changes since those days, that’s not even including all the alternate reality versions of these characters, of which there are many. So really no movie version is “comic accurate” but they’re all valid too. So as a comics fan, It really comes down to which movie version most closely aligns with the comic version you prefer, which is why I personally prefer this version of Superman, and the Reeves/Pattinson version of Batman.

Clay F

I know nothing of the comics but found entertaining this version of Superman, and the Reeves/Pattinson version of Batman.

Clay F

She indicated in the Extra Butter Live that they are still struggling with the computer.

Clay F

Good comments. Seems to me that all Superman movies have too much plot. I found Superman (2025) one of the least confusing and one of my favorite Superman movies,

Clay F

Snyder fans do seem fanatical. She mentioned in passing that she may take a break from DCEU but then confirmed in a YT premier that she will react to Justice League (she didn't say when). BvS has 153k YT views after 12 days. Not bad. That may help ensure that she reacts to Justice League. I will be curious the YT views of Superman (2025).

Richard Maurer

Superman (25) will do well on YouTube. How well remains to be seen. It’s a given though that if it doesn’t do better than the Snyder films the Snyder fans will act like that’s some kind of actual victory.

Clay F

She mentioned in passing that she may take a break from DCEU but then confirmed in a YT premier that she will react to Justice League (she didn't say when). Based on at least DCEU chronology, I think she should first react to Wonder Woman (2017) -- ranked No. 18 at Popcorn Requests and finished an incredibly strong 2nd in a poll last month.

K, Zachary

Well..... Um I am sure my comment will be relevant at same point in the future.

ProgressiveRoxx

I remember when I saw the first movie where I thought they truly captured the essence of Superman (post Christopher Reeve). It was Captain America. Superman is supposed to be an archetype, a truly good person with good motives and concerned about everyone and everything. The idea that Snyder's Superman was only willing to help people when it didn't inconvenience him personally was a fundamental misunderstanding of the character IMO. I loved this movie so much because Gunn recognised this better than anyone on the big screen.

Cole Jennett

I don’t think it’s remotely the same as skipping End Game. There were only like 3 movies that came before it. She won’t be skipping it anyway, just taking a break.

Joe J

I have never read any comics...I will just like (or not) any superhero film based on the film itself. It's just an intuitive thing with me. Same really with any movie.

Stick Figure Studios

I remember having a similar thought that the MCU's Captain America character was more like Superman than the DCEU's Superman was.

Bryan Erickson

Am I the only one seeing weird video quality?

Bryan Erickson

Interesting for Gunn to tell a story of how easily the media can manipulate society.

Stephen Dias

My blu-ray arrived a day later than expected, but it's all good. I love me some bonus features. I actually saw this movie in the theater and thoroughly enjoyed it. There's some heavy stuff, like what happens with Mali, but it's mostly just a fun movie. Naturally, people are going to want to compare it to the 1978 movie and "Man of Steel." I feel they are all so different and I love all of them. I'm not going to pick a favorite.

Chris Thom

Very true. And that's kind of great because we get a lot of different interpretations of the character and mythos with a mix and match of characters and villains and concepts to keep the franchise fresh. Adaptations of any work have never really bothered me as long as the director and writers and creators are genuinely inspired by some aspect of the material. Can be fun seeing what different directors connect with more. The downside is that it can feel like whiplash when the cast and crew totally change it's a whole new world again. Depending on how emotionally invested you are in the one interpretation it can feel like a betrayal somehow. But with Superman especially one has to expect that change.

Chris Thom

I definitely wanted one more Snyder Justice League to close things out before passing the torch. That world felt unfinished without it. I'm not even that into this genre of movies anymore. But it's that left dangling feeling that irks me most. But yes, Snyder fans are most likely not being totally fair, and are stuck in some cognitive dissonance. Plus Gunn's style is a major swerve from the last iteration.

Chris Thom

My parents would never. My sister is the same way. They just will not humor these kinds of movies for anything and I'm really not sure why. They're not exactly opposed to sci-fi or fantastical things. But DC/Marvel are just off limits for some reason.

Chris Thom

Yeah same. Some of my favorite editing in a movie ever. Score by Danny Elfman was also solid.

Chris Thom

That made me really nostalgic for bonus features. Always loved those. Don't think I've rented a physical copy of a movie since 2016. And even toward the end of Blockbuster's run they only had the most basic versions of the movies.

Chris Thom

Her last LIVE chat watchalong thing was a bit blurry.

Clay F

I do remember liking The Incredibles when my kids watched it.

Andrew

Excited to see what y'all think of this Superman interpretation.

Jayson Phillips

I love all the cameos in this movie...CAT GRANT (blonde with the boobs) Is the CEO of a media company in Supergirl, Ofc Peacemaker from Suicide Squad, Maxwell Lord "Sean Gunn = Kraglin from Guardians of the Galaxy" (The financial backer for Justice gang) from Wonder Woman 1984. Will Reeve, Christopher Reeve's son as the News Reporter on the TV, Ofc Alan Tudyk from Firefly is the voice of the Superman robots

Daniel Turbyfill

I really appreciated how they folded the John Williams theme into the score for this film. I feel like this is the first film since Christopher Reeves tenure where the writer/director actually understood what the character of Superman is really supposed to be.

bgb1975 (Brian)

Hmm....can't say I was a big fan of the Snyder movies either. But as a Superman purist, the fact that Gunn's version doesn't even have the traditional "S" on Superman's chest is an epic and unforgivable Fail with a capital "F" right out of the gate.

Mojo One Thousand

Thanks, that answer's a question I had about the continuity.

Richard Maurer

Brian. - Gunn used the version of the S from the Kingdom Come comics, and the original Action Comics version of Superman’s S and the “shield” around it was much smaller than the “classic” version that everyone things of as the “real” version. As far as I’m concerned as long as he a recognizable S on his chest that was good enough for me. As long as the movie was good, which it was, I don’t really care that much about how the S looked.

bgb1975 (Brian)

Fair enough. I'm familiar with the "Kingdom Come" four-part storyline. Great story, but it's just not the traditional Superman. It was a four-month "Elseworlds" story, published outside of the regular monthly Superman comic titles, and at the time, was acknowledged as such. True, the original "Action Comics #1" wasn't the "S" that we all came to know and love for the vast majority of Superman's existence, but it was still at least recognizable as an "S". Sometimes I amaze myself with my own nerdiness.

Doug Fisher

You are kidding... right?! Gunn had no idea how to portray Superman let alone "understand" the character. This film was crap.

Doug Fisher

Well... up until "Infinity War" anyway, not so much in "End Game".

Doug Fisher

Bob, the fact that you believe Gunn... You do know he is a proven LIAR... right?! He has already produced Movies and T.V. Shows that didn't have finished scripts. "Supergirl" is next because that is the one Gunn wants next. No, the better way to run the DCU is to actually have a plan, even a general one. Gunn has no idea what he is doing. Why else do you think he followed up "Superman 2025" (a flop) with "Peacemaker" (another flop) which is R-Rated (and disgusting). Sure wasn't to build any kind of momentum for the DCU. Now he is bring out "Supergirl", a C-List Character and that movie will flop harder than "Superman 2025". It wasn't rocket science. He should have done (what Snyder should have done) and that was to release a stand alone Superman movie, a stand alone Batman movie, and a stand alone Wonder Woman movie. You know, the 3 Pillars of the DC comics. I would have even done 2 or 3 stand alone movies for each of those characters before doing a team-up movie. Then you can also release ancillary character movies.

Doug Fisher

Sorry Cole, even though I didn't like Snyders Superman either (loved Henry) this was not a good movie and certainly not a good Superman movie. Rather than going into all the reasons why... I can sum it up with the appearance and portrayal of Supergirl in this movie. That kind of tells you all you need to know. Gunn has no idea how to handle a stand alone movie, which as the launch of the DCU this should have been.

Doug Fisher

You normally have pretty insightful comments Richard... but "Best Superman movie ever. Best Superman ever." Come on dude, I mean I respect your IMO... but seriously?! This was not a good movie, let alone a good Superman movie. I would watch "Superman IV" long before I would watch this one again. Corenswet is a decent looking Superman, not so much a Clark Kent though. The suit was horrendous. Get back to me in a month or so as this comment, as the movie, is not going to age well. There is a reason it was a flop.

Richard Maurer

Doug - read several of your comments, you clearly have a problem with Gunn, for whatever reason. Well I don’t have a problem with Gunn, and am capable of judging his film’s on their own merits. So I stand by my original statement. I’ve watched this movie several times, found almost nothing wrong with it, which is more than I can say about previous Superman movies. You might feel the need to continue this, to try and change my mind. Don’t bother, it would be a waste of both our times. it’s not going to happen. So let’s just agree to disagree on this one.

LukeG84

Just finished another rewatch. I'm never going to get bored of this movie. P.s. It still bugs me they didn't watch the end credit scenes. A quick Google search is all it would have taken before hitting stop. Just saying!
