(In my opinion) The Leftovers is shorter, better, and more emotionally resonant. It’s one of the best and most unique shows but it’s criminally unrepresented in the react space.

Yeah, that episode was more or less the point where I went out. I mentioned it several times before, but apart from being ridiculously overstuffed with characters and subplots at this point, the show also became pure misery porn where no character counts. I already met the Red Wedding with mostly a shrug, because when it happened the victims felt already like unimportant side characters thanks to the overstuffing. But the death of Oberyn was a real "But to me it was Tuesday" moment. It was supposed to be shocking, but by then they overdid the whole "Nobody is safe" thing so much, that I didn't even bother anymore to tune in next week and see if Tyrion magically makes it out alive. Again, sorry for being negative here. I'm glad that Cassie is still hooked (despite getting her heart broken over and over).

Ah yes, the medieval-esque show set in a world with rampant sexism, slavery and constant abuse/killings. So woke. Up to this point the show is still closely following the book so literally take your criticism to the author. Or do you think he had „the woke agenda“ in mind when he wrote it in the 90s?
