Thanks to the comment last week who gave me the "upCORNing" it was right there!

Hiii friends, hope your week is going well and drenched in pink and red. It's been another sick-y week over here. I guess I didn't knock on wood hard enough when I said I thought we were finally out of it. My oldest has influenza B and not sleeping and not going to school and Ben and the other two babes have a cold that will not go away. Womp Womp.

Some good things though-

-Binged season 5 of Slow Horses and Gary Oldman as Jackson Lamb is one of my favorite characters, how does he make being gross and slobby cool? Also loved the newest season of the Diplomat (two West Wing alums in it)

-My mom and I are going on a little weekend trip to Scottsdale soon to celebrate her retirement and I love having something warm to look forward to in Jan/Feb-counting down the days. Any Arizonians have good food reccs?

-Snake Pillskins sexy lil eye patch ;)

-I found a post it note beside my computer from my littlest and it is beyond cute and made my day. Translation: "Liam is kind of my Valentine"

This week on Patreon we have Escape from NY, Mystery Alaska and Game of Thrones Season 5 FINALE!

On YT it will also be Escape from NY, Goodwill Hunting and GOT!

We have two polls that end tonight-Robin Williams Poll and a Love Month Poll. For RW Poll it looks like Birdcage is flying away with it but last time I checked the Love Poll was only a one vote difference between Moonstruck and Philadelphia Story.

Congrats to our winner Rod for January Pick a Flick! I will be watching his pick Bullet Train next week! I think there was some confusion with getting February picks submitted last week on the website but it should all be good to go now! There is a place to make sure your pick and name are in there as well!

ALSO we are going to do a February YT LIVE <3 Check out the deets

Extra Butter LIVE will be the evening of Monday the 23rd!

Hope everyone has a fantastic rest of the week and feels some LOVE on Vday. Whether it be from a significant other, a family member, a friend, a fur baby or from here. I am so happy you are here, you are loved BIG!

Cassie

PS: If you haven't already done so, Ben would love your help testing out the PiB Web App that he's been working on. It's not going to replace Patreon in anyway, in fact to take advantage of all the features, you need to link your PiB Patreon membership (click of a button).Anyway feel free to: utilize the forums, the library (search for something you want to watch), custom playlists, submit your pick-a-flick and steer future poll choices with the "Requests" feature! He's also built a chrome extension that AUTO syncs the full reactions to your own copy of the movie on available streaming services (only HBO Max and Prime Video currently work, with Netlfix coming next). There are some bugs, but instructions on how to help test that out are in the forum on the beta website! Again, no pressure to use the website, but if you have time and would like to help test it out that would be great!

GOT And "Escape from New York" Cassie is continuing the Game Of Thrones journey and bringing a Kurt Russell/ John Carpenter CLASSIC... This is going be awesome fam! 💪♥️👌👍

Kyle K

Oh boy here comes the finale

aarswft

Mystery Alaska?!??! What??? So excited

tyler barnaby

Aw man you’ve seen slow horses that would have been a great reaction but I’m glad you liked it!

Geoff S.

Yay! I love upcorning! Garcia’s in Scottsdale used to be a fav Mexican place of mine. Especially loved their table side salsa and chips. I think there a few of them but def one in Scottsdale. Would Upshucking be too far of a corn reference? Maybe.

WestBound

Ima let you finish ...but YOUR NAME was the most requested and highest rated movie on your website (mic drop)

Joshua Campbell

I recommend Kurt Russell again in Breakdown & Shy High with Carly. Underrated movies to enjoy 😉.

KyloJames

Auto sync is so clutch. Ben is a genius! Thank you, good sir 🙏

JohnnyUtah

This might be the first time we got the movie before we even knew what the coming attractions were for the week! I will say, missing out not doing Friday the 13th on Friday...

Bill Maurer

Scottsdale .. Soi 4 for Thai food. Durants in downtown Phoenix for Steaks and just overall great food and atmosphere

keoma songs

I've been using the forum. There's several of us, almost!

Collar City Guy

Congratulations to your mom on her well deserved retirement, I'm sure she worked very hard as a nurse and she raised one heck of a family! Since my week's been a bit of a PITA just having a your reactions to look forward brightened my outlook for the rest of the week!

Stephen Last

I love that you are watching Mystery Alaska. This will be my first reaction to it I've seen.

Nim

End of season 5 GOT. Be Strong 💪. For the night is dark and full of terrors.

Tyler Foster

Please just watch both Philadelphia Story and Moonstruck if they're this close.

Michael West

I second Durants. Great place.

Michael West

Great lineup. Congratulations to Mom Popcorn on the retirement. I absolutely love Slow Horses. Gary Oldman is superb. Hope everyone feels better soon. EDIT: you probably already know this but, Mystery Alaska was filmed in Canmore, Alberta.

Mike Redford

Sorry about all the sickness in the household. Get well soon. Congrats to your mom on her retirement! 🎉 Also, just pictured you with an eyepatch and a smoky, sinister voice. Don't go tryin' to meet the duke. Nobody meets the duke. Again, great lineup of reacts

Nick Ireland

Could have sworn there was a reaction to Earth Girls Are Easy coming up, or was that just a fever dream? I think Moonstruck and Philadelphia Story both deserve reactions. Treat yourself!

Gray

Nah you must have dreamed that it definitely didn't win a poll on the last YT live *wink wink*

Nim

Love that stage when children rely heavily on the sound of the word to predict what letters to use even though they get it wrong. Makes for interesting and sometimes funny reading but it also displays them applying logic so you can see they're on the right track.

Gray

If only Slow Horses wasn't on one of the streaming services I don't have i'd have binged it already. Think i need a lottery win to be able to watch all the good tv/movies on all these platforms lol

Sam

Aahh, remembering back decades ago with the constant kids/parents sick cycle. It will end in a few years, then fast forward 40 years and it starts all over.

Anthony Carlson

Happy Retirement Cassie’s mom! I got many more years to go before I do! 😂 Escape from New York should be an interesting one. Mystery, Alaska is one I’m very curious to seeing! Speaking of hockey, I got to see a great hockey game of us defeating #1 Michigan 5-2 in Detroit. Go Green! On a side note: I’m super happy the Tigers got Justin Verlander back! And also, RIP James Van Der Beek…

Bill Maurer

Was there just last Thursday

MGCR

I’m expecting a full on meltdown.

Just Plain Bob

Some of the services offer a week free. I usually add what I want to see to my watchlist, subscribe for the free week and cancel the subscription before I get billed for the next month. Last I checked you could get a free week of Apple thru Amazon. Hope that helps, sorry if it doesn’t.

Cole Jennett

I don’t think too many people will be upset if she just conveniently forgets that ever happened.

John Stephens

Happy Retirement for your mom. Also, as a parent w older kids, that little note is adorable. Enjoy them. Save them.

Joe J

Cassie, what happened to the YT poll winner "Earth Girls are Easy"?

Just Plain Bob

My family includes several nurses, starting with my great uncle who was the first member of the family to earn a college degree (thank you GI Bill!). I have several other uncles and aunts that are RNs as well as my nephew and his wife, who’s a nurse practitioner. Nurturing and healing people for a living is truly an awesome calling. Cassie must be very proud.

Patrick

Hope everyone gets feeling better and that u have a safe trip. Congratulations to ur momma🍾 and Ben is doing amazing with the website 👍🏼

Chitown Livingston

Show Carly 'Father Goose'. Don't have to post it... but you'll both really enjoy it! I promise! 😉

JONATHAN REDFERN WILLIAMS

I can't wait for the YT Live, Cassie! I posted a parcel off to you yesterday. It should reach you in time for 21st February.

Collar City Guy

I'm certain she is, and rightly so, I'm sure you are as well.

shaneth138

Aw dang I was hoping to see Paul mentioned :/ I assume I should probably stop waiting for that?

Gray

Once i get a free week i'll have to do that, try and watch Pluribus aswell.

Just Plain Bob

Disappointed that, if we’re getting a reaction to a hockey movie, it’s not “Slap Shot” with Paul Newman. He turns the charm up to 11 and the Hanson brothers have to be seen to be truly appreciated.

Chryss Guiler

Slap Shot is one of my favorites. Years ago I bought a Chiefs jersey, #7!

Mayhem Theater

Finally getting around to Escape From New York. Why not sooner? No mention Justice League Snyder Cut; that's new. It's better when post are not repetitive

Chris Thom

Aww how cute is that note. "Cindiv" is exactly how I would've spelled it too. Lol. Kid is sounding things out and getting there! Full written linguistic ability incoming! I distinctly remember how fun it was figuring it out. A whole new world opens up!

Chris Thom

Ahh...Kanye'd again.

Joe J

Might just upset all the voters who pushed it past The Expendables 2.

Clay F

I have been wanting to test out the PiB Web App more. I've been to Scottsdale once and liked it. I have wanted to try Slow Horses. That is super cute what your daughter wrote. Very much looking forward to your GoT reaction, as usual. In your GoT reaction last week, you nailed: (1) what Littlefinger told Lady Tyrell and (2) the effect of Valyrian steel. You more perceptive than most in deciphering that right away. S5E8 ("Hardhome") (IMDb 9.8) having the battle with the White Walkers is generally considered one of the best episodes of GoT. Keri Russell of The Diplomat is a lead in "The Americans" (2013-2018) (6 seasons) (75 episodes). RT 96%. IMDb 8.4. Best TV Shows all time ranking = Rolling Stone #14, Hollywood Reporter #12. 18 Emmy nominations, won 4. Golden Globe 2019 winner Best Television Series – Drama. I love that series. She is incredible.

Chris Thom

My folks have loved retirement so much. It was incredible how fast they stopped talking about their careers. Lol. Almost like they never happened. Think they've visited fifteen countries since.

Joe J

Mods be coming for you man...nowhere to run, lol.

Kyle K

No, three more seasons after season 5. But season 5 finale is going to shake up Cassie for sure.

Collar City Guy

My hat off to them, it's nice to see people enjoying their well earned golden years!

Joe J

Probably.

Nim

Don't see why they would. My comment could be applied to absolutely any episode of any season of GOT.

Cole Jennett

I’m watching Pluribus right now Gray. I would splurge and just get Apple for a month. With Ted Lasso, Shrinking, Slow Horses, and a few other good series, it’s worth it. I have cancelled and renewed a few different times

MikeLL

That's what I said in the comments to the Love Poll. It is a tie, whichever one wins now.

Chris Thom

Justice League, both parts, are up here and on YouTube.

Clay F

Welcome your feedback but doesn't make sense. What do you mean "Finally" and "Why not sooner?" Escape from New York won the poll last week (poll ended Feb 4). Not sure what you are talking about when you say repetive. As for Justice League Snyder Cut, the full reaction is already on Patreon.

clutchkman

Philadelphia Story is really good. I can't believe Cassie hasn't seen Moonstruck already though, but it will be our gain when she does! Hope you guys are feeling well soon. That note is so cute, you've got to save that! Happy love month! ❤️

Bill W

Yes Mystery, Alaska is great... very funny and heartwarming. Please put it on Youtube!!

Old As Dirt Bert

Congrats to PopMom on her retirement. Tell her that when she finds herself looking around going, "wasn't I supposed to be doing something?" the answer is "whatever you like."

Jack

But are you going to Scottsdale or North Scottsdale? Scottsdale is for peasants. La Cheeserie.

Mike Lemon

"Hope everyone ... feels some LOVE on Vday." Chance of that, 0%. "My mom ... celebrate her retirement" Fatal Attraction watch-along to knock one off the Mother's Day Poll list? It was second place after all. "He's also built a chrome extension..." Chrome? People still use that after all their shenanigans? "It's not going to replace Patreon in anyway," It will have to or most of it it will probably die. There are currently 7 threads in the general forum with the newest being 28 days old, that tells me there really isn't anything driving people to stay there. There will need to be a push to get people over there and to stay there.

FranciscoGios

Well Cassie it seems that you can't get a break with your family being sick all the time, so all I can do is virtually sending healthy vibes. May you get better soon.

Clay F

I use Chrome.

Bill W

Rumpelstiltskin?

Bill W

The only restaurants I know in Scottsdale are the Chicago-based Italian restaurants: Maggiano's Little Italy, and Lou Malnati's. Both are very good and reasonably priced.

Rene G.

I liked your collab with Kat on Scarface. Now do the Strangers trilogy reboot from Renny Harlin who directed stallone's cliffhanger movie!!! On A NON-HALLOWEEN week... It'd be fun ride!!!

Clay F

Moonstruck's lead over The Philadelphia Story is widening, now +5. Looking forward to Moonstruck and Sense and Sensibility for Love Month. I also like The Philadelphia Story - maybe next Love Month.

Happy Hanukkah

Should we expect Cassie to distinguish between "a chrome extension" and "a chromium extension"?

Happy Hanukkah

"Snake Pillskins sexy lil eye patch" Bob Hauk's manly earring. One eye, one ear. :-)

Katie Sivak

Can you watch Best In Show for Catherine I Hera r.i.p. Hope floats and south paw with Carly Cool Runnings

YodatheHobbit

Looking forward to trying out that Chrome extension tonight with Escape from New York, and maybe a rewatch of the Wonder Woman reaction!

DavidJPL

"Chicago West" is awesome anywhere! :)

DavidJPL

Yeah, what's wrong with Chrome? Microsoft Edge / Google Chrome / all the others, etc. - all Chromium. "All restaurants are Taco Bell".

DavidJPL

Clay, yes, for sure on GoT. I was nowhere near this perceptive the first time I watched! It's one of the - many! - reasons that these GoT reactions are so awesome!

DavidJPL

I have heard & read all the Cassie comments & Patreon comments - Please God power thru 5:09 and 5:10 !!! As someone else wrote somewhere; just binge straight into Season 6 !!! Don't stop!

DavidJPL

'Sky High' is super fun! Plus a great cast in early roles!

DavidJPL

GoT Season 5 final episodes - Yikes!!! Power thru and binge immediately into Season 6 !

Chris Thom

How many seasons are there?

Chris Thom

I don't think it's a reboot. It's sequels and prequels.

Rene G.

2 more season to go..

K, Zachary

Good evening Cassie and Carly and the rest of the PIB crew as well her viewing public, So Arizona, my gf is from Arizona a suburb of Phoenix, went to University of Arizona for two years and my Mom used to live in Prescott, except down there they call it Preskit 🤷. About Last Week: We didn't get to everything, we own Goodwill Hunting because my gf had CPS cases come in which means exactly what you think it means abuse. So Goodwill Hunting was not a good movie to watch. We did watch the Crossover with Kat we both love Kat. We subscribe to her highest tier Scarface I saw that as a teenager in HS. What a great one. GOT two good episodes. The Week Ahead: Mystery Alaska is a good one I love hockey. Then there is more GOT please heed my advice on the email I sent you what I said in my video yesterday. ( Yes it went public) That's all I can say I was told not to push it. Just calmly say it. Then leave it alone ultimately it's your decision. Escape from New York, you know I really liked Kurt Russell in that ski commercial he did for the Super Bowl and he's going to be in Monarch, Legacy Of Monsters on Apple TV at the end of the month. Since neither one of us liked it we are going to just watch your reaction. So I put it on the TV in our room dim it put the volume on low and we both fall asleep to your reaction. Then you get the view and we don't have to watch anything we don't care for. Everyone wins! Now for the song of the week. This is something we both agreed on because it's on the soundtrack for one of the best Romcoms ever. Since It's Valentines Day this week We both agreed on this song. In the 90's I was totally in love with this artist and my gf Eva wanted to be her. I always catch her singing Any Man Of Mine. From the Notting Hill Soundtrack here Shania Twain with You've Got Way https://youtu.be/Cytj0nrLaCs?si=wvZYKDSEqLyLCuQn Happy Valentine's Day Everyone!

DavidJPL

8 total Seasons Season 1~7 have 10 episodes each. Season 8 only has 6 episodes, but a few of them are much longer than the usual 1 hour.

Wesley White

I hope you get better soon Cassie, not to brag but I'm finally feeling better too, hope the rest of the family gets better as well! I regret to say I won't be available for your next YT Live Stream! I'm sorry to say this out loud but I absolutely despise Valentine's Day😠 This month is the one time of the year for me where I fall into a deep abyss of depression! I've had my heart broken so many times in the past, and one of the worst ones happened to me on V-Day, and since then I've hated it💔 My apologies for my negativity, I'm just being honest and I'm not looking for sympathy over my sob story, but I do appreciate it if you feel that way towards me Cassie! I will however send you a sentimental fan letter pretty soon, just talking, saying nice things, and recommendations, that kind of stuff! Oh, and I might as well inform you that I finally did it! I finally for the first time ever recently, watched your full length reactions to both the OG and Prequel STAR WARS trilogies! I enjoyed them immensely though some of your question asking kept giving me a headache LOL🤣 I still had a lot of fun watching your reactions, thanks to you in a way I had a bit of a resurgence in watching STAR WARS because I can't even remember the last time I watched any of them! Anyway, just thought I'd give you the heads up! Love and support always, you and Carly are the best, I hope the family gets well soon, and God bless y'all and the family🥰😇🙏🤗😉✌🌹

Mark White

Hi Cassie, sorry to hear you guys are not well again. You really have the worst luck with being poorly. Hope you all feel better soon. With GoT I’m just fingers crossed Sansa gets out of that living nightmare she is in!🫰 Are we still going to see “Paul” anytime soon? Would be awesome. Enjoy your trip with your mom. Take care You are the best ❤️

Mike Lemon

@DavidJPL - Other than them lacking privacy, being a resource hog, and trying to kill adblocking? There are also the Google as a whole controversies (stealing content, censorship, trying to control the internet, illegal monopoly, etc.) "all the others, etc. " There are plenty of not-chromium out there- Firefox, Safari (I haven't used that one), Midori, Palemoon, Tor, etc.

Steve Smith

My advice to you Cassie, is to stop drinking soda pop, and try to eliminate as much sugar and salt from your diet. I was always sick

Richard Maurer

Two things will get (force) me to use the new website - PaF and Popcorn Requests.

Richard Maurer

I’m not really a big sports movie guy but Slap Shot is one of the good ones. I’d welcome a reason to revisit it.

Just Plain Bob

I grew up watching tennis, boxing, football, baseball - you name it, I watched it (and played it, usually poorly). But the only sports movies I can think of that I like are the first two Rockys, Bad News Bears and Slap Shot. For the most part, sports films don’t appeal to me. They tend to be overly sentimental, rah-rah underdog stories. Bores the hell out of me.

Mike Lemon

@Richard- Yeah, that is my point. Without forcing people over there, it is basically Planner's app but at a different address. People will go over there, put in their Pick and requests, then pretty much forget about it. Unless there is a concerted effort to force people over there regularly (ex. closing all Patreon comments), it will essentially die.

MikeLL

Hoping Cassie deploys an audible for The Philadelphia Story.

bgb1975 (Brian)

Good advice! Nine out of ten non-doctors agree!

Richard Maurer

(Snake to Cassie) “The name’s Plisskin”.

Shehab Dawoud

If anybody is looking for something good to watch on the big screen right now, I recommend Crime 101 with Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Halle Berry, and other big names. It’s a slick crime thriller that pays homage to the likes of Michael Mann.

Joe J

I was gonna correct her....but I knew someone would anyway, lol.

Chris Thom

Was just watching different interviews with the cast. Looks good. Nice to see Halle again. Still looks amazing.

Chris Thom

Had three bowls of sugary cereal the other night and ended up getting two and a half hours of sleep. That stuff is powerful apparently.

Chris Thom

Embarrassed to say I still don't know what 'pulls an audible' means.

Shehab Dawoud

She's very good in it and still fine as hell. Older the berry, sweeter the juice!

Joe J

As a discussion platform, the new app will suffer the same fate as Discord & Chat.....very low engagement. How many of Cassie's 3500+ paying patrons will actually us the new app?

Just Plain Bob

Yes. The proper way to build trust is to break your word, repeatedly. Maybe I’m just old, but I was raised to believe that you keep your promises. Still waiting for “Invasion of the Body Snatchers” 2+ years later.

Byrd N. Hand

It's a cheesy movie, but still more watchable than some other titles she's watched for the channel. 🤷‍♂️

Byrd N. Hand

Cole -- It's admittedly a cheesy movie, but I'd say it's still more watchable than some other titles Cassie has watched for the channel. And, yes, Bob, thank you for bringing up that we're still waiting on "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" '78 after all this time. 🤷‍♂️

Joe J

Good girls like Cassie always fall hard for the bad boys, lol. A guy named Snake with an eye patch, like "forget about it".

Doug

You will have no trouble finding good food in Arizona. The Sonoran Hotdog is recommended.

Christian Becker

Cassie’s naming of characters is quite endearing. I like her versions of character names. It’s the extra caramel on the popcorn. 😉

Christian Becker

And a very big fat compliment to Ben. The website is really great! I'll surely try to test the new sync function. Keep up the great work!

Gray

wouldn't that just leave her Water to drink though, might get a bit boring.

Clay F

Looks good. I may go see it.

Gray

Just saw Send Help at cinema it's a Black Comedy Survival Horror with Rachel Mcadams by Sam Raimi. I thought it was a good watch, will have to check out Crime 101.

Collar City Guy

Did anybody happen to catch the final results of the polls?

Fanny Adams

Not sure for love poll, but the Birdcage won the Robin Williams poll. Never seen it but it must be halfway decent as Robin Williams is in it!

John A

Rumpleforeskin's a good man! So are you guys!

Reneeboy

4 the watch 🐺

Mannygogou

👍😍👍😄👍

Collar City Guy

Thanks, was it still really close to the 2nd place pick?

Milton Reduxed

3 votes more than Philadelphia Story

David Bockly

I was wondering about that too!

Milton Reduxed

The title for the week Scarface featured could have been 'All I Have Upcoming Is My Word And My Kernels'

Shreyas

There’s 3 movies I would love to see a reaction this year: Mystic River, Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron and American History X. Honestly, The Hangover movies would be hilarious

Clay F

+1 for American History X She has seen The Hangover movies.

David

most recent movie upcoming releases are leviathan 2015 tomorrow maybe the peart the barefoot executive cool hard Lake Munchak premium contact 1997 the super mario galaxy movie winner movies we talk about Cassie and Carly never seen new movies Before

Chris Thom

YES I want to see that. Happy that Sam Raimi is still working. He's quite good.

Kawaii Leonard

Gray, I grew up just drinking water. Nothing taste better to me on a hot day than a glass of ice water.

keoma songs

Looking forward to SENSE AND SENSIBILITY more than any announced reaction ever in my year+ of patron membership, with The Fly as a close close second

Mark White

Did I notice Cassie had one of those “monster” energy drinks the other day? I think if you drink them regularly they can cause increased heart rate, anxiety, sleep disruption.

SEAN ƴü KAY

...to rule them all, and in the darkness bind them

Popcorn In Bed

it won? i need to go back and look on the live! i have no memory of it haha whoops!

My_Cousin_Mose

My question to this is- why does it matter if everything is eventually moved over to their private website? Patreon as a company sucks.

bgb1975 (Brian)

Cassie! Help! Richard and Clarence have taken me hostage, and they are threatening to make me watch their top ten lists unless their demands are met! They are demanding a reaction to each of the following within the next 72 hours: 1 - a Clint Eastwood movie; 2 - a Kevin Costner movie; 3 - a Laura Dern movie; 4 - a T.J. Lowther movie; 5 - a Bruce McGill movie. pleasepleasepleasepleaseplease!

Joe J

Haha, nice try bro, but we all know Clarence wants Cool Hand Luke above all else, and Richard wants Horror of Dracula.

Mike Lemon

@Mose- Not a clue why people want to stay here. I can see not wanting discord (especially after the latest news), but I don't know why people don't want a better forum.

SEAN ƴü KAY

In a perfect world you would have asked that question differently, in a perfect world your kidnappers would know we dont negotiate...in a perfect world it would be a much lower and reasonable ransom...tell your knappers that while we may not be able to MAKE a perfect world, we may be able to Watch "A Perfect World" ... even if the jokes and spelling isn't dunn prefectley. Right?... 3 cheers for all...here here!!!!

Richard Maurer

Two ways to know this isn’t real: 1) I wouldn’t hold anyone hostage for any of those actors except Clint Eastwood, and even then only for High Plains Drifter or Dirty Harry. 2) Under no circumstances would I work with Clarence.

SEAN ƴü KAY

Sounds like a perfect world then 😉

Richard Maurer

Cassie, if you’re going to watch Andor you should probably watch Rogue One (off channel) beforehand, just to remind yourself as Andor is a prequel to Rogue One.

Chris Thom

I know it's not October...but Scream 3 was released in February of 2000. And 7 is coming soon...

Clay F

Yeah, she may not remember much from when she reacted to Rogue One in 2021. I would save a rewatch (off-channel) of Rogue One until after Andor -- b/c as you noted, Andor is a prequel to Rogue One.

Richard Maurer

I don’t think think she needs to do a rewatch on the channel, as much as I love Rogue One. But as you said she she hasn’t seen it (presumably) since 2021, and considering what a deep-dive into one the main characters of RO Andor is (it’s literally named after him) reminding herself of what happened in that movie would be a good Idea.

Richard Maurer

When I said I wanted to see horror movies outside October this isn’t what had in mind - I meant good ones. Besides, Scream 2 didn’t do very well on YouTube for her.

Mike Lemon

Convoluted JRPG sidequest that leads to infiltrating a data center surrounded by salt water, steal a platter hard drive, more RPG padding, transmit plans to Rebels, everybody dies, Vader shows up for a great looking scene. Fin.

Richard Maurer

You forgot: best Star Wars movie ever, the only one not made for 14 year olds

Rene G.

well, Friday the 13th just passed by this week.. And I want Kat and Cassie do a Friday the 13th movie marathon to all 10 sequels EVERY FRIDAY THE 13TH of the month.. How's that for outside halloween reactions?

Rene G.

Friday the 13th just went by a day before valentine's day and she missed an opportunity to watch Friday the 13th... Here's my new suggestion of her collab with KatHorrormovies: Watch ALL 10 Friday the 13th movies in EVERY Friday the 13th of each month.. How's that for a reaction outside of Halloween season?? Pretty awesome if you ask me.

Mike Lemon

4.5 at best (.5 because Force Awakens is better if nothing that followed happened, worse because Last Jedi did happen). If the story from the original trailers was released Rouge One would probably be a solid number 3.

Richard Maurer

You’re entitled to your opinion, no matter how abjectly wrong it might be. ;-)

Richard Maurer

Or, alternatively, they could watch a good horror movie.

Rene G.

Name one??

Richard Maurer

It Follows. The Fog. Let the Right One In. Many, many others

Richard Maurer

Better than Scream. But not much better.

Joe J

The thought she would have already forgotten the main plot line of Rogue One is just sad. She does however remember every rom-com she's ever watched, lol.

Richard Maurer

There’s a lot going on in Rogue One, and Cassie watches a lot of movies. I’m not surprised when she forgets things from movies she’s only watched once.

Joe J

Cassie said she wants to watch some horror outside of October...so it's our duty to pester her about it until she does.😉

Chris Thom

Only four more to go! Then one more after the 27th.

Mike Lemon

There are 11 "Friday the 13th" movies (actually 8 + 2 Jason + 1) and a Freddy vs Jason.

Chris Thom

The first two would be fun. But isn't there usually only one Friday, 13 per year?

Clay F

On average, 1-2 per year. On average, there is a Friday the 13th once every 212.35 days. Friday the 13ths occurs with an average frequency of 1.7218 per year.

Clay F

A rewatch off-channel of Rogue One (my favorite SW movie) would contaminate her watch of Andor.

Clay F

By the way, my recommended start order of SW for anyone who has seen no SW is to watch Andor first, then Rogue One, and then the original trilogy: 1. Andor (2022, 2025) [watch this first] 2. Rogue One (2016) 3. Star Wars IV – A New Hope (1977) 4. Star Wars V – The Empire Strikes Back (1980) 5. Star Wars VI – Return of the Jedi (1983) My mom dropped me off at the theater in 1977 to see Star Wars IV New Hope. I remember excitement of people, the lines being long, and the cost of the tickets as $3 US instead of the normal $1.25. I am not a Star Wars fanatic, but I do appreciate Star Wars and glad it exists.

Richard Maurer

How is reminding her of a movie she’s already seen “contaminating” her watch of Andor? That doesn’t make sense.

Clay F

Because there is likely much she doesn't remember. Thus, "reminding" her to fill in details = "contaminating." Better to keep her memory vague. I am unsure why you want her to rewatch Rogue One ("remind" her of Rogue One) before reacting to Andor. That doesn't make sense. Andor is a prequel. I am not saying it's a huge deal either way, but she just simply react to the prequel Andor w/o a rewatch off-channel of Andor. She should take advantage of the fact that she doesn't remember much about Rogue One. A rewatch of Rogue One after Andor makes sense. However, I really don't care. I highly doubt she rewatches Rogue One in awkward prep for Andor.

Richard Maurer

First - we don’t actually know that Cassie doesn’t remember Rogue One, or hasn’t watched since it since she did a reaction to it. Also just because Andor is chronologically before Rogue One doesn’t mean it’s meant to be watched that way. I believe Andor was made with the assumption that most people watching it had already seen Rogue One.

Clay F

A beauty is being able to watch Andor w/o first watching Rogue One or with only a vague memory of Rogue One. Much better that way. I am watching an Andor reaction by LM Reactions and they have not watched Rogue One but plan to react to Rogue One after Andor. She has watched only once each hundreds of movies and series episodes since 2021, and as might be expected for anyone, repeatedly shown she doesn't remember a lot. No matter what was meant to be, my suggested watch order: 1. Andor (2022, 2025) [watch this first] 2. Rogue One (2016) 3. Star Wars IV – A New Hope (1977) 4. Star Wars V – The Empire Strikes Back (1980) 5. Star Wars VI – Return of the Jedi (1983)

Richard Maurer

I disagree. Always go with release order.

Irish movie poll for St Patrick's Day coming up? The Wind that Shakes the Barley, In America, My Left Foot, Banshees of Inisherin, Once, Darby O Gill and the Little People, Into the West, The Magdalene Sisters..

I've never understood this 'release order fundamentalism' so many people have. It makes no sense to me to go into something already knowing its general outcome *if* I can help it (i.e. coming to a franchise well after its releases). 🤷‍♂️ I mean, there was no grand artistic scheme by the filmmakers for deliberately withholding a prequel story from the audience until its eventual release; they're virtually always afterthoughts. Of all movie series with prequels, Pixar's "Monsters" movies makes the least sense to watch in release order, since the revelation at the end of "Monsters, Inc." actively undermines the main plot of "Monsters University." 🤔 I don't need constant life validations by having all reactors experience something exactly the way I did (nor am I that much of a narcissist). I'd rather they watch a movie series in the order that best suits the overall story being told through all of it outings... and the majority of the time, that's chronologically, IMO.

Richard Maurer

Well, The main reason for release order is the MCU. Each movie had after-credit scenes that were confusing at best and contained spoilers at worst when the movies were viewed chronologically. Or looking at Star Wars, watching them starting with the the prequels ruins the “I am your father" surprise among others. People can watch these movie series in whatever order they want obviously, but initially it just makes more sense if they watch in release order. It’s a moot point in Cassie’s case anyway as she’s already seen Rogue One. She doesn’t even need to do a rewatch at all, on or off the channel. She could probably get by just reading a synopsis, she certainly doesn’t need to do yet another rewatch on the channel, we’re getting too many of those already. I started this thread just suggesting a refresher for Andor, not that we need to make up an excuse for yet another rewatch.

And after watching a movie starring Bruce McGill, we would make the obvious decision to make our next TV series Babylon 5, as it was practically written for him.

Mike Lemon

Are we just going to skip over the fact that the Prequels are ********? And that that is usually the case for prequels in general? They also, usually, radically alter the story of the original movie(s). tangent- Can website writers learn what words mean? The Hobbit is not a prequel. It came first, it was even changed to fit Lord of the Rings after that came out. Making the movies second doesn't change that. 2nd tangent- Fan edits make The Hobbit movies pretty good, much better than the official versions.

Byrd N. Hand

@Richard -- You can watch Eps. I & II before V and *still* preserve the 'I am your father' moment -- it just re-contextualizes it from being "OMG, Vader is Luke's father!" to "OMG, Vader is actually Anakin!"... which, frankly, I feel gives the moment another layer, since the viewer would already have a frame of reference as to who Anakin was in that case. Either I-IV-II-V-III-VI, I-II-IV-V-III-VI (the no-longer-active Duaffy ended up doing this order; bless her heart), or IV-I-II-V-III-VI are my preferred orders for first-time viewers (especially adult ones). Not only does it preserve the familial revelations of the OT (moving the twins revelation to the end of III puts it nearly on the level of 'I am your father,' IMO), also you end up *not* going into I-III already knowing their general outcome, and, thus, potentially end up not being as invested in them as a result. Basically, it turns the saga into a sort of 12-hour version of "Godfather II." All subsequent viewings of the saga might as well be in chronological order to get the full flow of the story. I know the MCU and X-Men movies are different beasts, and I don't claim to be experts on them, but I can say with full confidence that there's no great reason for anyone to not watch Eps. I-III of Star Wars before at least Ep. VI, to not watch "Monsters University" before "Monsters Inc.," to not watch the "Hobbit" trilogy before the LOTR trilogy, to not watch "Temple of Doom" before "Lost Ark," or to not watch "Red Dragon" before "The Silence of the Lambs" (providing they stop the former before its fan service-y ending that leads into the latter). Also: "Best Star Wars movie ever, the only one not made for 14 year olds." So, basically, you now actually want more Dune, not Star Wars. 🤷‍♂️ @Mike -- The issue with the prequels was strictly execution. Give Lucas a more deft screenwriter and a more actor-friendly co-director to work with him (which he initially tried to do) and the trilogy would've been nearly on par with the OT, as far as I'm concerned (even as they are, I still prefer ROTS over ROTJ). Most of what Di$ney has churned out was conceptually 💩 from the start; there's no fixing that.

Richard Maurer

Yes, Dune is much, much better than Star Wars. It’s like comparing the Conan movies to LotR, both are good, but one is so much better (and no, it’s not Conan). And if Rogue One (and Andor) are the Dune of Star Wars, that's a compliment, not a insult. As said before, you can watch these series anyway you want, you watch them backwards, if that’s what floats your boat. But if you ask me what’s the best way, I’m going to say release order every time. That’s the order they were created in, that’s the order that usually works best, it seems to me anyway.

Night of the Living Dead, The Ring, The Mist, Buried. How about some old school thrillers: Cat People, The 7th Victim, The Body Snatcher, Dracula(1931), The Invisible Man, The Old Dark House.

Old As Dirt Bert

Something must be wrong...both movies I voted for in the 2 polls won. That's a first for the 3-1/2 yrs. I've been a patron. Hope both ladies get to see Moonstruck.

Mike Lemon

"The issue with the prequels was strictly execution." No, it's problem was it is a story that didn't need told. A simple "Vader was seduced by the dark side of the Force" was enough. Leave the rest to the imagination. We didn't need to see Anakin become a child murderer or, apparently, Obi Wan getting alzheimers (for forgetting about Leia). It being executed poorly is secondary.

Rene G.

oh yeah night of t he living dead is the best esp. the remake!!! Cat People with Bowie as the soundtrack of it as well!

What happened to the Popcorn to Go Podcast?

Byrd N. Hand

R.I.P. Robert Duvall -- virtually a year after his good friend and former roommate Gene Hackman, and also at the age of 95. 😔

Mike Lemon

Life happened and it is paused for a while.

Joe J

That's the funny thing, life just keeps on happening, lol. Maybe mix it up with some guests (other reactors?), and interviews. I think the current format needs some shaking up.

Joe J

Two giants, we will never see they're like again. Redford last year also.

Byrd N. Hand

My favorite is when I like all but 1 or 2 titles in the poll... and then one of said 1 or 2 titles I don't care about at all ends up winning. 🤦‍♂️
