Hey everyone! This was a high-tier patron request. I had never heard of this movie until they had suggested it to me. In fact, I had pictured this movie being about a man who loved watching cats dance, and I didn't make sense of the title until I started watching the movie. I came out of it pleasantly surprised. It was very different from other movies I'd seen. I don't think I've ever seen a "true" western like this before. Hope you enjoy the reaction!

Really good reaction, Cassie!

Never heard of this one but looking forward to watching your reaction when I have time. (Guess I’ll have to hurry while it’s still avail.) 🙂

As someone who likes the genre and anything else claiming to be vaguely historic, I would not have started with this one which is not critically acclaimed or highly rated. Might I suggest "The Outlaw Josie Wales" ?

“Ohp, he’s taking her to the creaky bed.” Almost every actor had a long career, most as character actors. The guy who played her husband did comedy, and Burt Reynolds had many hits, most notably The Smokey and the Bandit. Both the sheriff and the rapist were in 12 Angry Men (1957). (Don’t let the year fool you. It’s #5 on the top rated films of all time.) For other westerns, check-out Silverado (1985, fun) and Unforgiven (1992, somber).

Same here, love westerns and war movies and seen lots of Burt Reynolds movies and never even heard of this. Josie Wales is a great one, Hang 'Em High and High Plains Drifter also good. But nothing comes close to Unforgiven IMO, pretty rare when a western wins Best Picture. Hope Cassie eventually gets to that one.

Might I suggest Tombstone as another potential western?

Lonesome Dove. A 3pt mini-series. One of the best ever.

Funny how both this and Same Time Next Year are top-tier selections about women who cheat on their husbands. I'm sure it's just a coincidence.

Oh, my GOD, I worked for the producer of this movie, Martin Poll. Wow, I can't believe you watched this.
