Hey guys! I would love all of you movie buffs to help suggest some good categories for future polls.

If you can post 1 category per comment, others can ❤️ it. That'll help me gauge the interest.

What categories would you like to see?

Comments

Charles Mills

Jimmy Stewart movies - "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington", "It's a Wonderful Life", "Strategic Air Command", "Rear Window", "Flight of the Phoenix" (1965), "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance" "The Spirit of St. Louis" etc

Richard Maurer

How about something outside most of the people on this thread's, as well as Cassie's (I'm assuming), comfort zone - Anime. Naruto and Naruto Shippuden being the natural first choice. Looking at the categories mentioned above, I don't expect this to be a popular choice, but hopefully some more open minded people will prove me wrong.

I believe expanding the possible genre list is the goal of this exercise. I'm too old to have been exposed to those myself, but as a kid in the 1960's I used to love the "Speed Racer" cartoons which I've heard is their ancestor.

Charles Mills

Supermarionation TV opening sequences - "Supercar", "Stingray", "Thunderbirds", Fireball XL-5" etc. We who were boys of the 1960's loved them. Intricate launch sequences never get old for us. Thunderbird 2 was my favorite, it was fat like me, but it brought the crucial equipment for the International Rescue guys. They would likely give Ms. Popcorn the giggles, but it would be worth it. Could also throw in a few cartoon themes like "Gigantor" and "Courageous Cat and Minute Mouse.."

Richard Maurer

I'm 58 myself, so too old doesn't really enter into it. You just need to be able to give new things a chance. I started watching Anime on Cartoon Network in '96 with Dragon Ball Z, then Gundam Wing in 2000. I since have watched many more. And like any genre, Anime ranges from the great to complete trash, but fortunately we have the internet to help steer around the land mines.

No category suggestions really but I would LOVE to see you react to Pump Up The Volume and Dead Poets Society.

I support this wholeheartedly, I'd love to see some Anime reactions! Studio Ghibli classics such as Totoro, Spirited Away or Howl's Moving Castle would be a great starting point IMO, those films are internationally beloved, are easily accessible and shouldn't be too "niche".

While I love the Studio Ghibli films, there's a big problem with doing reactions to them, and that problem is Studio Ghibli itself. They are notorious for hitting Youtubers with copyright strikes, even doing multiple strikes at the same time, causing youtubers to lose their channels. DO NOT react to Studio Ghibli films.

Shaun2342!

I like the idea of categories by director. For example, you have done a lot of Spielberg but haven't done ET-- which I would love to see a react of, but I suspect you have seen it already. It is tough giving suggestions when we don't know what you have and haven't seen

Shaun2342!

(but if you haven't seen ET, that's sort of mandatory viewing for Spielberg...)

Darren Gibson

So, it's gotta be a Tom Cruise movie category after your Last Samurai reaction?! I'll start: A FEW GOOD MEN!

Charles Mills

Inspired by the hotel movie - Quirky Movies of all flavors - "Batteries Not Included" (1987), "The God's Must Be Crazy" (1980), "Time Bandits" (1981), "The Addams Family" (1991), "Down Periscope" (1996), "Watership Down" (1978), or "Brigadoon" (1954) (okay, it's a rom-com musical but one you likely haven't seen), "Paul" (2011), "Spaced Invaders" or the TV show "Dead Like Me."

Not sure if it's been mentioned or if it meets requirements of this post but how about cult classics category, hidden gems category or most recommended movie of all time category?

John Do

I'm new to the channel, and love watching your reactions. I'd really love to suggest some of the classic art house Asian films that came out of the 90's and 2000's, foremost among them "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon", as well as Hero, House of Flying Daggers, Curse of the Golden Chrysanthemum, The Banquet (sometimes called Legend of the Black Scorpion), and a more recent one called Shadow.

Cult movies would be a fun category. There are communities of fans for some surprising movies. I've heard "Somewhere In Time" is like that. Personally, I like "Highlander," which has an active fan base even though it came out in 1986. We could look at fan fiction sites for movies with the most postings.

Charles Mills

Giant Monster Movies - You know, the Japanese monsters like Godzilla and his buddies, American ones like "Them!" or "The Blob", or "King Kong" or "The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms," or European ones like "Gorgo," or "Reptilicus." For the cheese factor, there is "The Giant Claw.." "The Crawling Eye" scared me as a kid. "The Day of the Triffids" had a cult following.

I love highlander too but can't for the life of me remember anything about the sequels. But yeah, you could easily find loads of hidden gems by researching fan fiction sites.
