Hey guys! Sorry for the delay in posting this week. We've had family in town (still do) and so it's been a bit crazy! We're still working on The Batman, and that should be up this week.

As for this one, we have a special surprise! Our Mom joins us! This is the first of many Mission Impossible's for Carly and I and it didn't disappoint. This one was action packed and full of surprises! Hope you enjoy!

[Full Reaction] Mission Impossible (1996)

crazyivan

Cassie, listen to your little sister - not much slips by her...Oh, and Hi Mom!!!

Stormseeker Gaming

I had to pause watching the reaction to help my wife. When I came back I noticed the spot where it stopped was a great scene in the movie and for the Popcorn in Bed women. Even if you knew nothing about them, you would know right away they were related. Look at when the movie time on the screen is 1:06:24:08. I am not sure what they are all thinking, but it seems to be the same thing. I think they might be skeptical about Tom being able to pull this off.

Gábor Árki

Mom is right, this isn't the first Mission Impossible. It was the first movie, but the original was a television series from the '60s. And there is also a revived television series from the late '80s (I think it is a continuation of the original series but seen it a long long time ago during the '90s).

Shawn Kildal

I think this is the 5th time Cassie has reacted to a movie based off a TV series. The other 4 are Serenity, Maverick, The Untouchables and The Fugitive. I apologize if I missed any.

Sahitya

MI 2 is my guilty pleasure

Mr Jordan

Well, add another to the list of Cassie tries but fails to identify movie theme songs :-D And yeah to mom joining in.

djKENTO

So this is first movie but is a sequel to a long running tv show from the 60s. Jon Voight is playing the hero from the original show. The twist is pretty intense if you’re familiar with it. I think it still works either way.

Brad P

There's six films already in the series and two more on the way (one of which is already completed).

djKENTO
>>82574437

Also about the way actors look, you know Instagram filters? Imagine what a Hollywood studio can do. They’re also wearing make up. But if you saw Tom Cruise at the SF Giants game last year, he’s changed and aged.

Obie Brown

Omg its Mama Popcorn, welcome!

Prof. Writhms

There is an oldie James Brown song called "Mother Popcorn". Just saying... 😁

William Bryan

Dear God you look like your mom. Whoa

Philip Alan

Thank you, Carly for being there steering Mom & Cass into understanding plot points and character developments! Ha! Great reaction!

djKENTO

Also shout out to Barnes who I just realized is Band of Brothers very own Dale Dye!

Planner

"I love a plan", you need to watch The A-Team :P

Brian McGovern

You do realise that we now expect your mother and sister to accompany you for the rest of the MI movies? By the way, they are in the process of shooting 7 and 8 back to back.

Philip Alan
>>82577707

I don't know, I guess I'm in the minority who hopes that doesn't happen. Her solo reactions, for me, are her best videos. But that might be just me. Ha!

Shawn Kildal

Currently there are 6 movies in the franchise, there is a 7th film is scheduled to be released for the summer of 2023 and an 8th film for the summer of 2024. In my opinion, starting with 3rd movie it becomes simply amazing and gets better and better. I'm thankfully Mom was there to watch. Cassie had to be on her best behavior. I don't think you recognized Emilo Estevez from the elevator scene (Charlie Sheen's brother) he was also the jock in The Breakfast Club. And Ving Rhames (the guy who Ethan trusted the disk to) you also saw in Pulp Fiction fighting with Bruce Willis on the street after the car accident and getting tied up with him by the weirdos at the end of the movie. I'm glad Carly was there too to help piece things together too.

Gary Giaimo

Welcome, Mom! What a fun surprise seeing the three of you react. And I love that you reacted to this movie. I look forward to the foray into this series. Don't let the fact that Mission: Impossible 2 is awful sway you. 3-6 are all great. Just get through 2 and the rest is smooth sailing. Great reaction!

Ron

IMHO, MI2 is not great, but still worth watching just to have seen it. But, from there on, it just gets better and better (for me at least).

Shawn Kildal

It was Ethan who sent Kittridge the train tickets and the wristwatch that links up to the photo glasses. He wanted him there. When Ethan was playing the scenario in his head what had happened to his team, he figured it out correctly the first time, but he wasn't sure / didn't want to believe Claire was involved in the plot and tried to envision Jim coming out of the water to time the car explosion. He didn't know that part for sure. That's my interpretation what Ethan was thinking anyway

Ben Livingstone

For the TV series, the episodes I most recommend are "Operation Rogosh," "The Town," or "The Mind of Stefan Miklos." Just in general, not necessarily for your channel.

rubberkidney

dang cass, apparently mom knows best. there was a mission impossible television show in the 60s that was the original. the '96 movie is a revival of that show.

John Cranberry

I feel that Carly has had to explain stuff to Cassie her whole life. She was the only one who got what was going on thew whole time. Smart cookie. MI Series is great and keeps on giving thrills. Can't wait for the next one.

Brian Jones

Great reaction as always and great to see your mom on board as well. There are six films in total with a seventh on the way soon and an eighth planned. The first is a classic and does have many of Brian De Palma's trademark shots and framing, the second is a bit over stylized due to bringing John Woo on as the director. It certainly has some spectacular scenes in it, but it's also the worst of the series. But from three onward they get increasingly better. It was good to see that Carly had this one figured out from the jump, you should make sure she's there with you for the rest of the films. Glad you guys enjoyed it and looking forward to the next 5 reactions (7 for the future films?). Take care.

Ike

Mama Popcorn - I like it! This was a fun reaction. I did have to rent MI but it was well worth it. Here’s the Keep-Up-with-the-Plot Score: Carly 8 pts, Mom PIB - 4 pts, Cassie - 4 pts. (Come on Cassie! play some defense lol) Mama Popcorn, it was a pleasure having you aboard. The banter between you three is delightful, hope to see you back.

Michael Lynch

Oh awesome, can't wait. Love these mission impossible movies. Not quite sure if Jackie Chan is still doing movies but if he's not then Tom Cruise is the last great action star that does his own stunts. Eat your heart out Jason Statham and The Rock.

Michael Lynch
>>82578132

Two is definitely not awful. It's just not your style. John woo has a certain flair as a director and has a massive fan base.

Michael Lynch
>>82578207

I love the scene in the beginning with the rock climbing because he really makes that jump over a thousand feet in the air. He also does the motorcycle scenes and jumps off the side and has his feet on the concrete ducking next to his motorcycle. He wore special shoes for that scene to slide on the concrete. Dudes stunts are amazing.

Damien beatty
>>82580557

Well, now don't forget about Keanu Reeves! Even though I don't know if I would consider him or Tom Cruise full on action stars, since they do multiple genres. Also I don't know if this has been said in these comments, but Mama corn was right about the "old" Mission Impossible" TV show from the late sixties.

Bryan Harris

Just starting... Mission: Impossible is an old TV show from the 60s 70s that included many great actors including Leonard Nimoy, Peter Graves, Martin Landau, Linda Day George

Patrick Toscano

I remember the elevator death scarred me for life when i saw it in theaters as a kid. And hopefuly y'all watching MI 2 will finally help me get through the movie without turning it off.

Mark M

That was great fun! Loved having MomPop on board for this reaction and gives me hope that someday you'll react with PopPop as well:) I heard he likes StarGate.

Brian Landers

Love the reaction... once you get to 3 you will loooove them.. and the stunts get more crazy but as you will hear Tom does all his own stunts... when you get to the 4th and 5th one he actually scales the building and rides on the outside of the plane.. hahaha enjoy the ride ladies...

Tara

I haven’t seen this first Mission Impossible movie in ages! Was this the one where Tom was lowered into that vault room on the wires? I remember that and the twist. Looking forward to watching when I get off work this evening. ^^^^^^^ Just finished watching and it was great to see Mama popcorn and glad that you are enjoying your visit. When this movie came out in 1996, the internet was very new. I remember the first time I used email was that same year and It looked like the same thing when Ethan was sending emails to Max with the little envelope. If I remember correctly, Ethan and Claire did hook up, but they cut that scene from the final movie. Once again, I look forward to watching the rest of the trilogy with you. Well… maybe not a trilogy, but the next mission🍿

Andrew Rose

Was great fun watching the three of you interact during this movie... loved that "Mama Popcorn" came along for the ride!! lol Keep 'em coming ladies!!!

Robert da Spruce

What!? Mama Popcorn!? This should be fun! Not only will I be watching the movie. But I’ll also be watching to see if you guys have the same mannerisms and use the same expressions as your Mom.

Jason Dolan

I'm sure other people have said this but Mission Impossible was a TV show in the 60s

Jason Dolan

There's actually a thing called The Tom Cruise Wilfred Brimley conundrum where they compare Cruise in 2012 to Wilfred Brimley who at the same age was playing the grandfather in Cocoon when Tom Cruise was starring in the first Jack Reacher. It's the idea that if you take amazing care of yourself, exercise, eat all the right foods, you'll look like Tom Cruise, and if you don't, you'll look like Wilfred Brimley. https://www.newyorker.com/culture/rabbit-holes/the-wilford-brimley-meme-that-helps-measure-tom-cruises-agelessness

Steven Ashford

Nice to see your mom. I was suspicious when you said she was coming into town that she was going to react with you. “You have your mothers eyes” name that movie Cassie. Has anyone else noticed that Cassie is a near clone of her mother. Their voices and inflections are so similar that I often times didn’t know who it was that was talking because I’m used to looking at Cassie‘s face but no sound is coming out and I was like oh my gosh that’s Cassie‘s mom talking. I also see where you get your fidgetiness from. Your mom’s feet never stopped moving the whole time 😂 Oh and of course great movie reaction from all of you.!!

Steve Sanders

The first Mission Impossible is just a classic but shows it's age. The second one is just ok. The franchise really picks up steam with Mi:III and never really slows down. Ghost Protocol (4) is probably my favorite still. Love these movies. The order, in case you haven't looked it up, is: Mission Impossible MI:II MI:III Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol Mission Impossible Rogue Nation Mission Impossible: Fallout Mission Impossible 7 is coming out next year (delayed due to Covid) Mission Impossible 8 is planned for 2024

Jason Dolan

I'm realizing now you should have watched BATMAN 89 with your mom as well, lol - I think she could have provided some historical context, lol

Robert da Spruce

Looks like a setting was changed somewhere. Usually, oldest posts are at the top. But now, newest posts are.

Mr Jordan

Crap. I'm going to have the theme song stuck in my head all day at work.

Stick Figure Studios

Looking forward to watching this reaction. Excited to see that your mom has joined you. Maybe she'll be more familiar with MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE. I remember the first time I had ever heard about it. Driving to school one day (this was in the late '80s, so I was about 11 or 12), the theme song came on the radio and my dad mentioned it was from a TV show called "Mission: Impossible." I inquired as to what that was and my dad, knowing my interest in spy stuff (particularly James Bond), said, "Oh, you would have loved it, Dame. It was about a team of secret agents that went on missions every week. Each member of the team had his/her own area of expertise. There was an electronics specialist, a master of disguise..." "Was there a karate expert?" I asked. "No," my dad corrected. "Because the show wasn't violent. The team had to use their brains to stop the bad guys." Suffice it to say, I was intrigued, but never thought I would hear of it ever again, let alone get a chance to see it. Some time later, I was watching TV in the living room when my dad emerged from his bedroom, apparently watching his own television back there, exclaiming, "Damian! They're bringing back MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE!" Apparently ABC was resurrecting the old Bruce Geller series... even going so far as to have some of the original actors (including Peter Graves whom I only knew at the time as the captain in AIRPLANE!) reprise their roles. When we watched its premiere, to say I loved it would be a gross understatement. I quickly became obsessed with it, even going so far as to dress up as Jim Phelps one year for Halloween (just try to imagine what that costume must've looked liked). I loved the trademark elements of the show: the recorded message briefing that introduced each episode's plot before destroying itself (a concept I was already familiar with thanks to Inspector Gadget's self-destructing missives), the fancy technological tools and uncanny face masks they used to trick their enemies and, of course, that super-cool Lalo Schifrin main theme. Though this new incarnation of M:I only lasted two seasons, it became regular viewing on Sunday nights in the Arlyn household. I always thought it would make a fantastic movie and could never figure out why they never did one. Fast forward to 1996. I was in college by this point and had read in Entertainment Weekly that Paramount was making MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE into a feature film. Though I must confess that at the time I was not thrilled it was going to star Tom Cruise as I was not a big fan of his yet. I was thrilled that it was being directed by one of my favorite filmmakers Brian DePalma (the auteur behind CARRIE, BLOW OUT and THE UNTOUCHABLES) and scored by one of my favorite composers Danny Elfman (BATMAN, BEETLEJUICE, THE SIMPSONS, etc). I was there opening night with a group of friends and, much like my reaction to the show, I not only immediately loved it, I became obsessed with it. I went again the following night with another group of friends to see it. Indeed, I went again and again and again... seeing it a total of five times in the theater (the most I've ever seen a film on the big screen to this day) before snatching up a widescreen VHS copy of its eventual video release. It became my all-time favorite movie for a period of a couple years there. 25 years and six films later (with two more on the way), it's still my favorite MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE movie. Don't get me wrong. I have enjoyed all of the sequels to some degree or another (yes, even John Woo's stylish but idiotic slow-mo follow-up that borrows quite liberally from Alfred Hitchcock's NOTORIOUS, by far the weakest of the series) and certainly the action sequences have improved over time (or at least gotten more exhilarating... perhaps even exhausting), but, for me, MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE was never about action: it was about intrigue, it was about political gamesmanship, it was about intricately plotted assignments involving deception and psychology. It was a con job, a shell game, a "divide and conquer" operation. There was, of course, occasional action set pieces but they merely punctuated a story that was more about intelligence and suspense than spectacle and thrills. This is why I thought DePalma was the perfect director to bring MISSION to the big screen. He retained the essential spirit of the show (if not perhaps the essential spirit of some of its characters) while still taking it in interesting new directions. He balanced the more cerebral aspects with the more exciting elements. In addition to the source material, DePalma drew on many different inspirations for the project including the paranoid conspiracy thrillers of the 1970s made by the likes of Alan J. Pakula and Sydney Pollack (indeed, the scene where Cruise's Ethan Hunt runs to a telephone booth to call his superiors after the death of his entire team is right out of Pollack's THREE DAYS OF THE CONDOR) as well as the elaborate heist films RIFIFI and TOPKAPI by French filmmaker Jules Dassin (most evident in the film's iconic daring daylight break-in to the white room at CIA headquarters... which I still think is the signature set piece of the entire franchise). As the series has continued, it has become more about the action than the espionage with a now 56-year-old Cruise undertaking increasingly outrageous and death-defying stunts. What motivates Cruise to attempt these feats in real life is anybody's guess (and one of these days his luck is going to run out and he's actually going to get killed making one of these films), but there is no denying that the result on screen is certainly jaw-dropping and in an age of such ubiquitous CGI, MISSION's old school practical effects and stunt work is really quite refreshing. While the MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE that young people know today is virtually unrecognizable from the MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE that Geller originally conceived, the truth is that that's totally fine. Under the guidance of actor/producer Cruise, it has become its own thing. Cruise may have changed its DNA, but in doing so he has done something that very few filmmakers would have been able to do and that's keep MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE in the cultural consciousness for the past two decades. If the franchise is going to continue, it's going to have to find a way to survive without Cruise's involvement, but were it not for Cruise, we'd be talking about MISSION (if we talked about it at all) in the same way we talk about DRAGNET or IRONSIDE... as a program that was big in its day (and even briefly brought back for a short period of time) but ultimately irrelevant now and of note only for its historical significance. Keeping it relevant wasn't an easy task, but he chose to accept it. Mission accomplished. ***This message will self-destruct in 5 seconds.***

Jason Dolan

Your mom did great on the reaction - I liked how you're all trying to figure out this movie - this is a VERY complicated plot and absolutely it is a good movie for multiple people to watch together and figure out together and I felt like you all contributed to understanding key plot points. And yes, honestly, MI2 and MI3 are underrated to some extent, but 4-6 is its own trilogy and absolutely phenomenal, so consider the next two movies primer for fully enjoying how good 4-6 are going to be.

RX2904

"You're gonna need a bigger bed."

Bammer

Your mother was correct about Mission Impossible from a long time ago. It use to be a television series that debuted in 1966 and lasted 7 seasons.

Stick Figure Studios

"Is that Emilio Estevez?" Very good, Mom. Point goes to you.

Stick Figure Studios

"He looks like a bad guy." Well, that's Henry Czerny for you. Wait until you see him in CLEAR & PRESENT DANGER.

Tyler Foster

Carly was definitely on top of the plot, although I feel like all three of you had something right at some point that the other two had wrong. Others have explained it, but Mom was right in the pre-review that this was not the original Mission: Impossible. This is a sequel, essentially, to the original "Mission: Impossible," which was a television show. Voight is playing a character from that show, so him being a traitor is a big deal. The truth of Cruise's relative lack of aging is two-part. He has recently had at least some kind of Botox, but the actual thing that keeps him looking young is that every blockbuster with movie stars has a visual effects company that basically does nothing but keep actors looking eternally youthful, using what is essentially CGI makeup. The company is called Lola VFX, and you can find them in the credits of just about every big-budget movie. If you see Lola VFX in the credits, the movie stars have had a digital touch-up. That was in fact the internet at the time. Just a bunch of message boards, basically. Carly was definitely correct that Ethan is playing out how Jim betrayed the team in his head while Jim is talking about Kittridge, acting like he believes Jim's story, right down to the part where he first imagines that Claire kills Hannah by blowing up the car, and then, hoping Claire is not part of the scheme, re-imagining it where Jim crawls up the bank of the river and blows up the car himself. Not going to say how, but you do get to see how the masks are made eventually! Much like watching you go through the Rocky series to get to Creed, it will be quite a journey waiting for you two to get to Ghost Protocol (4), Rogue Nation (5), and Fallout (6), but it will be a fun one!

softshoes

As I first started watching the first thing I thought of was the sheriff from Jaws: " We're going to need a bigger bed." Mom was great. I hope to see her again sometime.

MetallicOpeth

nice! Carly killed this one lmfao

Uncle Phoenix

What a fun reaction video to watch. Loved it.

Stick Figure Studios

"DIE HARD vibes. Remember?" You may or may not remember this, but the blonde long-haired bodyguard for Max was in DIE HARD. He played Karl's brother.

Dioskur

You know whats making your reactions great? It's seeing the fun you're having! Btw you missed the cance to upload this on mothers day!

RX2904

That was Carly's best. She saw the whole thing coming. I loved watching her put the whole thing together while you and your mom were like "wait, who what? is he the bad guy?" LOL

Dustin Nelson

I thought Mission Impossible was an 80s movie, I had an NES game of it

Stick Figure Studios

"Would that guy not throwing up be over the decibel limit?" Yes, but the security measures are deactivated when he's in the room. You can tell whether they're activated or Not by the Light coming from underneath the floor.

Krusty “Topher”

Mi2 is not just the worst movie of this franchise. It’s not a very good movie period. The story is very plain. Not near as interesting or suspenseful or full of twists and intrigue as the original. They screwed with the classic theme song which should be a crime in every country. They brought in Woo whose style played out in the 90’s. And their only gag they could think of I guess was to overplay the mask trick about a 1000 times. Horrid!! But that being said she should totally watch it and make up her own mind!😀🤷‍♂️

Stick Figure Studios
>>82605881

It was a TV series in the '80s based on an TV series from the '60s. I'm too young to have seen the original one, but I did watch the '80s one as a kid and we had that NES game too).

Stick Figure Studios
>>82605671

It's really funny how Carly can sometimes be so sharp and see things coming and yet at other times be so clueless as to think that one of the cops on the outside of the nakatomi building in DIE HARD is in on the robbery.

Stick Figure Studios

Since you girls love both Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt, what would you think about watching a movie that they were in together? :-)

David Freese

Hi Cassie. Nice to meet Mama Popcorn. Great fun like always. Only other thing is that there was a 60s series for Mission: Impossible. It started Peter Graves as Jim Phelps. The character played by Jon Voight in the movie. That was the big thing in this movie that old timers didn't like that Jim Phelps was one the bad guys when his character before would have never done that.

Celeste McAllister

That's Emelio Estevez from "The Breakfast club" he's Charlie Sheen's brother and son of Martin Sheen..Your Mom and Carly have a striking resemblance that's totally adorable :) FYI: This franchise was based on a 1960's hit series the same theme music and character names...

Brent Petty

Rogue Nation and Fallout are the two best by far, IMO.

David

Love your Mom, she has the exact same expression before she smiles as you do! Great reaction..

Sean Stuart
>>82600292

I think Carly won this one for figuring out clues. The others ones are pretty straightforward.

Sean Stuart
>>82609695

I loved the 2nd one because I loved John Woo- Face/OFF, killer, and to a lesser extent broken arrow. But it definitely hasn’t aged well. I think the 3rd is still my favorite followed by the 5th. Then 2nd at last. 1, 4, and 6 are all in a tossup.

Ramzi M. A. Ramzi

This was a blast and a pleasant surprise on so many levels. First off, your mom joining the gang (made me feel as if I watching this with my own family). Second, your pick of Mission: Impossible (1996). This movie is so dear to my heart and brings back some of my best memories. Saw it in the theater back in 1996 and it was the talk of the town. At first, hard core fans of the TV show were upset to see their beloved team leader, Jim Phelps, be portrayed as the villain (in addition to the rather not so straightforward plot). But things turned around over time and good old Thomas Cruise became an action star (action superstar in 2000 after Mission: Impossible II). Ah, the 90's. What a great time to be alive. Yes, the "Internet" and cell phones were still a new thing for most people (myself included). The 90's might seem like the stone age to younger audiences, but boy was it good times at the movies. Just think of the following mobile phone brands that were such a big deal back then: Nokia, Ericsson, and Motorola. They virtually don't exist anymore. Mission: Impossible was up against box office heavyweights Twister, The Rock, and Independence Day. It held its own pretty well and IMHO, I think this movie also aged very well. Tom Cruise owned this role. This series is not without it's hiccup (notice? one hiccup), but still one of the very few in film history that virtually keeps getting better and better. And even that one hiccup is so ridiculously stylish that you just can't look away. Like another patreon in this group said, Mission: Impossible II is a guilty pleasure for me (I always think of really high quality hair conditioners whenever I watch it). And quite frankly, the rewatchability value of these movies is up there with the James Bond films for me. What also made them so special, is that each film was directed by a different director who brought his own style to the series. Mission: Impossible (1996) was directed by the maestro of suspense, Brian De Palma (The Untouchables) and is my favorite of the series. It is also the most complex of the bunch and with true spy stuff. After Mission: Impossible III, they would no longer use a numbering sequence for the sequels and go with Mission: Impossible - "and a title". Christopher McQuarrie is the only recurring director (helmed Missions 5 and 6, and I think the upcoming 7 too). He previously directed Cruise in "Jack Reacher (2012)" (which I strongly recommend you check out). The Mission: Impossible films are a lot of fun to watch, and Tom Cruise made them his own. Can't imagine this series without him. I love all of them, but they are not all created equal. Below is my personal ranking: 1) Mission: Impossible (1996) 2) Mission: Impossible - Fallout (2018) 3) Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation (2015) [This one has possibly the best motorcycle chase sequence ever put on film] 4) Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol (2011) [This is the funniest of the bunch] 5) Mission: Impossible III (2006) 6) Mission: Impossible II (2000) [despite its low ranking here (too much style over substance), but I tell you, I love it and rewatch it constantly. It's just so stylish and the plot hits home after experiencing the pandemic. It also catapulted Cruise into action super stardom. This was so great. Looking forward to watching Mission: Impossible II with you guys. Cheers!

Jason Chirevas

One of the really cool things that’s happened with PIB is Cassie has discovered she’s really into mysteries and courtroom dramas, and now it looks like Carly has realized an appreciation and aptitude for espionage thrillers. She was ON during this first Mission: Impossible, which is purposely plotted to be, essentially, a Gordian knot. So, that’s all pretty cool.

Julian San

So many things to say about this ,live, but I’ll just stick to the point about the internet scenes early in the movie. Yes, it looks almost childish in comparison today with how online activities work but back in 1996, I totally bought it as I’m sure every other layman out there. It seemed like beyond legit back then for movie plot purposes. And just a quick aside, yes, Kittridge decided to use Max. It’s akin to when police use small time criminals (offering plea bargains, for example) in order to catch the big time criminals.

Aimee

When Carly confused Emilio Estevez with Jake Gyllenhall I laughed out loud. I’m so old. 😆 Tom Cruise is a crazy person but I very much respect his acting and that he does almost all his own stunts.

Tara
>>82586565

Didn’t he break his leg jumping from one building to another? I remember something on the news about him being injured filming one of the MI movies

TinCan Cosmanaut

Bring mom into this more! I like her attention to detail.

Robert da Spruce

Nice reaction ladies! Mama Popcorn, Cassie said you read a lot of the messages. So if you read this, I thought you did great! And you were absolutely correct. This was not the first Mission Impossible. The movie was based on a TV series of the same name that ran from 1966-73. I thought Carly did a great job following the plot. I think she may have what it takes to be a spy! Or maybe this whole life she has in Utah is all a cover. And she’s already a spy! 😉 Cassie, you’re lucky Carly was there to explain what was going on! 😀 JK! Actually, you were absolutely correct about the part where Ethan was going over what really happened in his head. He wasn’t positive if Claire set off the car bomb. Or if Jim did. And he was playing both scenarios in his head. You picked up on that when Carly didn’t. So, maybe you are a spy as well! 😂 I really enjoyed the reaction! I’m glad you guys enjoyed the movie. And I’m looking forward to you guys watching more of the series. Nice job ladies!

TinCan Cosmanaut

Cassie reminds me of my sisters. All 4 of them will never watch anything above a PG13 rating. So this is my like my fun replacement to everything I’d love them to watch. Mom is a great bonus!

Shawn Kildal

For the internet back then I didn't have a computer. I had something called Webtv. What a pain in the rear that was. Tied up the phone line for hours.

Sam R.

It's funny how we all I'm sure have the same reactions watching Cassie and her popped crew no this is the 1st ever from WAY back in 96 😲 No No it's not 😄 is that Anjolina Jolie's Dad? Yes🙃 . Is that Jake Gyllenhaal ? Carly No . But no one knows who Emilio Estevez is 😝 but it's all part of the fun. Thanks for joining in Mom you did a Great job raising 2 of the Sweetest girls I've ever met ♥️♥️♥️

Brian Wegner

Do you think Paul Rudd has Botox....Yes they all do....Oh No!!! You two brought a smile to my face...I absolutely love your interaction. By the way, my wife has had a huge crush on Rudd ever since she saw 13 going on 30. It doesn't help that he shows up in Kansas City every once in awhile.

Michael Jung

Actually, Mission Impossible started as a TV series starring Peter Graves as Jim Phelps. Also, Jim is actually a GOOD guy through the entire series - and Graves was very upset that the movies turned Phelps into a bad guy (to fake out long time fans of the TV series). Because of this, lots of Mission Impossible fans feel the movies take place in an alternate universe separate from the TV show.

Bring Mom back on the show once and a while!

Jon Brown

Whoa, look at Carly carrying the team! She nailed the plot almost the whole way through, way to go! Mad props! 😎 Also, I don’t know how you all do it, but each video gets better and better! Can’t thank you all enough for bringing some much needed joy into our days. Y’all are awesome! Oh, and MORE MOMMA POPCORN asap, please and thank you!! 😃

There was also a 1980s follow-up also starring Peter Graves as Jim Phelps (and he's a GOOD guy in the TV show)

The "hacker" character that Ving Rhames played (Luthor Stickle) gets a bit more backstory in the novelization - apparently he's a computer prodigy who built his first computer from parts he raided from a junkyard and was such a good hacker that he regularly played practical jokes - like getting TV stations to play 10 hours of dog food commercials because his dog loved watching them. The Impossible Mission Force (IMF) recruited him, but after a while they were so scared he was TOO good at hacking (he'd hack into NATO just to see if he could) and might be compromised that they decided to disavow him. A few higher-ups even thought it might be a good idea to just kill him, but then they thought Luthor might have installed a major computer virus in their systems that would cripple their intelligence if he died. That's why Luthor is actually a really good guy - he never actually hurt anyone, he just couldn't resist the challenge of hacking into highly secured systems.

I know you probably tried to forget PULP FICTION, Cassie, but did you recognize Luther as Marcellus Wallace? Actors name is Ving Rhames and you'll definitely be seeing him again in this series.

Marc Levesque

Great reaction, Mom is very attentive, I like her!

"Jon Voight. Isn't that Angelina Jolie's dad?" Immediately every cinephile watching compiles a mental list of Jon Voight movies for Cassie to watch.

David Patterson

The original show was fantastic. It had more of the flavor of a heist show rather than a spy show. I lost all respect for the filmmakers for making Phelps the mole, and I wouldn't watch the other films. However I'm willing to let go of my grudge to watch them with you.

Jeff Milcheck

That was a fun watch. Haven’t seen the original since it first came out! Still holds up as a great action film..... I’ve seen all the sequels but none of them are fresh in my mind so I’m looking forward to revisiting them with Cassie.

I noticed that too.. Cassie seemed confused at times but Carly seemed to have it all figured out.

Jeff Milcheck

And btw, you’ve seen that Tom Cruise can do action, and he does it as well as anyone.... but if you wanna see him do some dramatic acting, please check out “Magnolia”... his best performance by far!!.... and my all time favorite film.

Richard Shepard

Very excited that you guys started this series, my wife and I really enjoyed them all and they just got better as time progressed. Tom Cruise does all his own stunts through the entire series and they get pretty intense sometimes. Looking forward to this journey with you, hopefully they will all involve Carly as she will be able to help you along Cassie…lol. Only kidding but kudos to her for nailing this one all they way through. Loved having mom there to watch, react and be involved. Let’s include her some more in reactions if she comes to visit. Was wonderful to see you all and may you all stay safe and healthy. Prayers and blessing to you all.

Eddie Korstanje

That was really a lot of fun, I felt like a part of the family. Oh, hi Cassie's mom.

Mr Trick

Minus number 2, which doesn’t really feel like the same franchise, all of the Mission Impossible movies are great and I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. (Personally, I think the last two are the best so far.)

The opening scene of #2 is actually pretty incredible. That’s the only part of the movie that I really liked.

Hannah Mather

I cant wait to watch this one with you guys!

Rick Williams

Carly is sharp. She was able to follow the movie and figure it out. Cassie and Mama Popcorn, not so much. 😣

Alex Villarreal

The series is only going to get better as it goes on. Gonna be a fun ride.

Damon

This is one of those rare series where the later sequels are far better than the earlier ones. Tom Cruise is a weirdo, but no one can say he doesn't go all out for his films. His stunt work is insane and I can't wait for you all to see his work in the later films. It was great joining y'all for this one. Hope to see you back for all of them Momma Popcorn! God bless y'all! Edit: I completely forgot that Momma Popcorn was just in for a visit. I'm sad she won't be able to continue the series alongside y'all but I hope she'll continue the journey on her own.

Mike LL

Cassie, the reaction was fantastic, but the best part was you and your Mom and Carly trying to figure out who was good and bad after the movie. Very funny.

John Rando

Wasn’t everyone confused by this movie the first time they watched it?

I can see how it comes across that way, it takes a few viewings to figure it out.

The movie was great; a nod to the original Mission Impossible of a '60s tv program, where the theme music was smokin, but the show was boring. This movie version has at least Tom Cruz & better masks & the smokin theme.

Steve H

This movie has the benefit of introducing Mission Impossible as New to a new generation.
