The Final Countdown is a cheesy time travel film with an -A cast, WW2 and romance mixed with a big what if.

The great thing about THE FINAL COUNTDOWN is that it was made with the complete cooperation of the US Navy. It was actually filmed on board the USS Nimitz as much as possible. The footage used of launching/retrieving F-14 Tomcats beats the footage in TOP GUN, in my opinion. The film also features a fantastic scene of two Tomcats vs 2 Japanese Zeroes that is right up there with anything in either of the TOP GUN films.
