Hey friends,

Weeeellll remember how I was complaining it was too hot and I didn't want to sweat at a pumpkin patch and all that, well jokes on me, we skipped right past the 60 degree weather I crave and went to full on winter. Anyone else get this pre-Halloween storm? I am not ready. Other than that and the 3 hot glue gun burns I got putting together Halloween costumes, life is good! But actually, my parents are visiting this week, we finished a decently hard puzzle and did nothing else until it was finished, so I'm starving ;)

Ok here is what we have coming up this week. Last week of scary movies for PiB, no one is happier than Carly :)

I can't wait to share these ones with you. I decided not to watch Saw, it wasn't because of any comments or anything like that, I just decided to do Misery instead.

Right after this post, I will  be posting the "Noms of Oscars Past Poll:2010" People seemed not too pumped about it in the comments on the last LIVE when I pulled that year but I'm up for anything. I have seen 5/10 though. Should I put Avatar on there? I only saw it when it came out in theatres 12 years ago and there is that new one coming out? Let me know what you think!

Thanks for EVERYTHING! What has been your fav reaction in October so far?

what?? tremors, terrible movie, misery is a rough movie, one time watch, very good. 'The Crow' Branden LEE is Bruce Lee's VEDAR, he was killed before the end of THIS movie.

Paul Cox

People up and down the thread saying "Saw is no scarier than Se7en," like Se7en is a picnic in the park.

Celeste McAllister

Tremors is going to be fun, twice the fun with Carly,do the Kevin Bacon game!

Rich Campbell

No need to see Saw. You see, I saw Saw, and saw no point in seeing Saw. ... See? Sorry to see Saw fans sore, but that's how I see Saw. #dadjokes

EBMORGAN

The Crow! YES! Goth classic! Amazing soundtrack, too.

Who said that? I looked through all the comments and the only person mentioning Se7en was me and I said it was like Se7en on steroids. Richard mentioned it in last week's announcements, but I don't thing they said Saw was no scarier, just that they were a similar type of movie (i.e. not the gore fest so many imagine Saw is).

Okay whatever, maybe it was just your comment and I scrolled past it during several check-ins on the replies. Relax.

Tim Raths

I agree with a lot of others by not putting Avatar on the poll. It hasn’t aged well and it’s a ripoff of better movies you’ve already watched on the channel.

The amount of hyperbole about Saw here is amazing. Now people are making up comments.

Paul Cox

Who's hyperbolizing? I thought I saw more than one comment, but what I actually saw was the same comment a few times. You guys should really put down the phone and walk around the block or something.

I’ve been wondering for a long time if the whole Avatar thing has gone stale or not. The fact that James Cameron has been working on 4 more movies for more than 10 years and it’s taken that long for the 2nd to come out. Avatar 5 is not due until 2028. I wish him luck, but I can’t help remembering his cameo in The Muse (1999), when he wanted to make a sequel to Titanic. “Stay out of the water. Stay away from the water. Don't go near the water.” The new movie is called Avatar: The Way of the Water Hopefully, that cameo wasn’t prophetic.

Pete Miller

Definitely you should include Avatar.

I think it has somehow became fashionable to bash Avatar. I think it is a great movie. I just saw it the week before last in 3D (the way it was made to be shown, in 3D in a theater) and really liked it all over again. Plus I saw a 3D trailer to Wakanda Forever that will be released in a few weeks. Glad I went. Don't know if you should react to it since you have already seen it, but it is a film well worth watching again.

Larry Darrell

If anyone was underwhelmed by the 2010 Best Picture Oscar Nominees, or thought the selections were lacking in quantity, perhaps the possibility of an addition could be discussed. Such as, Crazy Heart (2009). Jeff Bridges won his first Oscar for Best Actor, 38 years after his first nomination. This was his Fifth Nomination. Crazy Heart also won Best Original Song, music and lyrics by Ryan Bingham & T Bone Burnett. Performed in the film by Jeff Bridges & Other Well Known Actor. In my opinion, this film Should Have been Nominated for Best Picture. Maggie Gyllenhaal was Nominated for Best Supporting Actress as well.

Lol, you're the one who started this then you get upset when people call you on your comment. Maybe you need to take a walk?

Paul Cox
>>94284709

I what? I started nothing. I posted a comment about Se7en also being disturbing, realized I'd made a mistake about how many times I'd seen a certain sentiment expressed, and then the two of you tag teamed my replies and made this messy. Now I get why PiB's patreon has a reputation for being unpleasant.

Richard Maurer
>>94284709

Nobodies being unpleasant, just pointing out facts. Like the fact you literally started this conversion when you made the comment that you did.

Paul Cox
>>94284709

And I acknowledged the mistake I made numerous times, yet you refuse to let anything go. The original point is still true: Se7en is a rough movie to watch. That was it. That was all. I couldn't have possibly been any clearer.

Krusty “Topher”

There’s some good 2009 movies to add! Moon Taking Chance The Girl with the dragon tattoo Watchmen Several more could be added

I was trying to stick close to Best Picture, such as the winners of Best Actor/Actress, Director, or Screenplay that didn’t have their films nominated for Best Picture. Since Best Picture was the name of the game to begin with.

As you stated Mike- it was meant to be seen on the big screen in 3D. On a regular tv it loses much of its luster.

Misery is alive!!! Fair warning... after the Misery reaction, you'll have a lot of "number one fans"

WastedPo

Misery is great. I think that would be a fun one to have Carly in on as well. But if not, that's fine too. (I know it's probably already shot.)
