I accidentally skipped a month of this poll, but during the last YT LIVE I drew a new year for this poll! 2010!

I have the fondest. years of 2010, so its gotta be a good one, although I have seen a lot of the movies (5/10) We still have some good ones in the poll I think. The movies I did see from that year were really good UP, Inglorious Bastards, The Blind Side etc.

If you saw my earlier "upcoming" post, I decided to not include Avatar as it would be a rewatch.

Ok may the best 2010 film win! I know zero about any of these, kind of like it like that ;)

Tinkerbell

I know it won’t win because not many people saw it, but An Education was really good and Carey Mulligan, Alfred Molina, and Peter Sarsgaard are fantastic in it.

Robert da Spruce

My first choice would be District 9. But I originally voted for An Education just because District 9, while not scary, is pretty graphic. I wasn’t sure how much Cassie would enjoy the visuals. But since Cassie is tough as nails now having watched all these horror movies this month. I changed my vote to District 9! 😀

I never watched "An Education" so I looked it up. Looks like it might have a killer soundtrack and Carey Mulligan never misses. No, Doesn't look like it will win but if it shows again in another pool ill vote for it.

Brec Evans-Orrell

This was a strong year for movies in my opinion. I'd like her to see The Hurtlocker for the tension and because she is familiar with the military genre. I hope she'll enjoy District 9. She may consider it a bit graphic, but she took on Saving Private Ryan and Hacksaw Ridge well.

Dooly

Oh well, as long as Hurt Locker loses, I’m okay with anything. Regarding District 9, is Cassie knowledgeable about apartheid and the political climate of South Africa, in which the film takes place?

Cesar Abella

I’m sad An Education isn’t doing better since I love it and also would love to see Cassie react to it.

Cole Jennett

If there had been a “none of the above” box I would have checked it. I think that means it’s time for Brewster’s Millions!😉

I didn't like any of the choices either, so I just didn't vote. LOVE Brewster's Millions though! Also, for Richard Pryor movies - Silver Streak, Stir Crazy, The Toy, See No Evil, Hear No Evil, and Another You. Such great movies!!

@Kelly - And Moving (1988). It's not a See No Evil, but I chuckle through it every time I watch it.

It really is a shame, but it doesn’t seem as well known as the others, even if it is among the better choices.

Patrick Flanagan

Feels like some people only want war movies to be 2 hour military parades.

I'm with you. Hurt Locker is a must. But everyone wants to vote for the scary alien movie. 🙄

I don't think of District 9 as a "scary" movie, there are other, FAR more important parts of that movie

I see your point. I would love a reaction to "Born on the Fourth of July," but when I suggested it before, some weren't enthusiastic about it because it's not exactly rah-rah. Edit: I just wanted to pitch "Born on the Fourth of July" as being somewhat inspirational. Yes, it's critical of the Vietnam War. But the whole story is about the growth of an individual, so for that reason, I think Cassie might find it a worthwhile watch when it's over.

Put American Sniper on a poll and the same people who are against Hurt Locker will be all over it, regardless of the inaccuracies in that movie.

Andrew Chung

thats true but also the Full Metal Jacket reaction kind of showed that Cassie prefers the inspirational type of war movies like We Were Soldiers or Private Ryan over the more gritty feel bad type of films. So I guess they’re just catering more to her tastes I suppose.

zynjams

ive been suggesting Platoon. a far superior war movie

Joe M

I’ll definitely take District 9 for the win over the overrated The Hurtlocker. I do have love For A Serious Man, which is one of the Coen Brothers underrated and under appreciated films.

Me, you and everyone else, but still here we are with no Platoon in sight. Frustrating. Also want her to watch Mad Max 1 and 2 and First Blood. I'm praying for these movies.

Ro Bear

Wow, 2010 Oscars sucked, lol. I have no desire to rewatch ANY of these movies.

She's already seen a couple of good ones from that year, and Crazy Heart isn't an option for some reason, so these are what is left.

Henry Fitzgerald

The two absolute gems in this list, An Education and A Serious Man, are not doing at all well, I fear

Most polls are simple popularity contests. It’s just how it goes.

Richard Bourne

District 9 - I like the eviction scene where the government people don't even know what the form actually says and they are the ones violating the terms.

Doubtful. I'm sure she knows the basics, but not more. But that's the same for many people I suppose. I spent a couple of years in Joburg and although no expert, it gives much more insight in the themes and analogies of the movie.
