Fantastic movie. One of the cases where I think the remake holds up too, though not quite hitting the heights of the original. Edmund Gwenn is timeless as Kringle. My favourite movie with him in though is "Them!" an absolutely classic 1950s monster movie about Giant Ants eating their way through New Mexico and California. It's typical 50s B-Movie nonsense but it surprisingly well done for the time. If you ever do a Black and White 50s Monster season it should be top of the list.

He is my definitive Santa Claus and though I love my old 50s monster movies, I love him the most in The Trouble With Harry - the Hitchcock film no one watches.

I don't know why but sometimes when my sister and I say Hello a certain way, we end up doing the full scene Hellllooooo, why we'd love to have Santa Claus stay with us. Loved your reaction to this. I knew you were just going to smile your way through it. Christmas magic and a love story, it's all Cassie could ask for.

Robert Jewell

❤ your reaction and a very Merry Christmas to you 💕

Richard Bourne

Perfect movie to get into The Chirstmas "State of Mind".

Andreas

OMG I didn't know William Frawley (Fred Mertz) was in this movie! :D LOVE this reaction!

You didn’t recognize Maureen O’Hara from The Quiet Man with John Wayne? She was a wonderful actress, wasn’t she?

Speaking of John Ford, "The Three Godfathers" would be a great one for Cassie to watch some Christmas. A Western about child care!

Ria Grix

Thank you for that little comment at the end. Merry Christmas to you and all your family. 🎅 🎄

I also loved Maureen O’Hara in The Parent Trap (the original one). It’s one of my favorites from childhood. Definitely check it out if you haven’t seen it yet.

Loved the reaction! And thank you for saying Merry Christmas!! Too many people are scared to say it these days but it’s refreshing to hear! Merry Christmas to you and your family!! Safe travels! 🎅🏻🎄

Needed to your comment at the end more than you'll ever know.

Thank you for sharing your experience with this Fantastic Classic! Macy's and Gimbel's were notorious rivals and were always trying to undercut each other. Gimbel's went out of business in 1987 (according to Wikipedia), so that's why it's not as famous, since Macy's is still standing...I'm still hoping you'll watch "The Thin Man" someday...

Will we have the Return of the King today?

David Guin

This movie has been a "must watch", annually, for as long as I can remember. Watching you see it for the first time proves that it is never too late ;)

Sigh, I hope it will be released tomorrow because after that I won't have the time to watch a 4 hour reaction for quite some time due to the holidays. Even tomorrow won't be easy since there's a huge blizzard coming into my region.

Kenneth

You may want to watch "Office Christmas Party" 2016 at some point. Very Funny.

Manuel Eckroad

Loved, loved, loved this reaction! I have been watching this movie for decades and have it in my top 5 Christmas movies ever. Gives me chills every time I see it and makes me believe in Santa all over again. Great movie! Thanks for the reaction! ❤️

Bryan Fritchie

I am SHOCKED you have never seen this movie before. But your reaction was exactly what I expected it to be. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

Paul Stelter

He's the best onscreen Santa ever. (sorry Tim Allen and Ah-nold) Hopefully we don't have to wait until next Christmas for THE BISHOP'S WIFE!
