Its Poppies Week! "Every night i lie in bed, the brightest colors fill my head, a million dreams are keeping me awaaaaaakkkkkeeeee" I have crossed off renting an auditorium and custom made popcorn trophies off the poppies idea list, but still have some good ones I think! I also want to say thank you to the poppy committee who have helped so much with the prep work (you know who you are and you rock!)

Here is what is coming up this week! I just really want to watch this show (The Last of Us) , so might as well watch it with you! Haven't decided if they will be on YT though yet. Watching "Just Mercy" with Michael B made me want to watch Black Panther, Kilmonger was such a good bad guy/good guy!

I'll also be hopefully finishing Boba Fett this week, Mando season 3 countdown in oooonnnn! Someone here had an idea to do a LIVE watch along for the Mando episodes as they come out? Maybe a patreon tier or something? Thinking on that one, let me know your thoughts. Could be fun!?

Also coming up on the schedj is the Queen Bond and then another Bond Poll, A runners up poll that will also include YT members, Demolition Man and going to try and watch John Wicks before the 4th one comes out? *try

All good things, All good things.

Ok here we go, eat your heart out MONDAY!

Not sure about a live watch along. I feel like there would be too many comments from us, and you’d miss part of the show just trying to read all of them.

Matt

Will be interesting to see someone who hasn't played the games reaction to The Last Of Us ( im assuming you haven't played the games) hope no one spoiles things about the story while you watch it

Todzilla

Yes! The final 3 episodes of the Book of Boba Fett! But confused about the Mando Live Watch-a-long? I'm assuming you do it live at some time, but for everyone that can't attend you'll just put it out later? Will there be YouTube edits? My motto is if it ain't broke don't fix it. Not sure if live Mando watch alongs would be distracting to Cassie or not 🤔

Love that show. My gf, daughter, parents, pretty much everyone I know loves it. None of us have played the games. I feel like it would be a bummer knowing what will happen.

Matt

I vote NO for live watch along

Brad P

No spoilers but it would probably be prudent to have a box of tissues handy for every Last of Us episode.

PapaXan

Wow, some great stuff coming up!

Tim Raths

The Poppies is all I’m looking forward to this week. The rest I’ll probably skip.

kaiielle

SOOOOOOOOOO HYPED FOR THE LAST OF US!

Mike LL

Queen Bond? (I have images of Freddy Mercury singing the title song to the great missing Bond film) 🤣🤣🤣

Terry Yelmene

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!! TLOU being reacted to by PiB!!!!!!!!!!!! Okay, okay okay set a notification when THAT DROPS!!!!!!!!!

Collar City Guy

With the Poppies and the rest of BoBF on tap, .it will be a good week indeed! Personally, I would rather have the reg watch along for Season 3 of the Mandalorian, not lives.

DA CHEEZ

Can't wait for the LOU reaction!

Tim Raths
>>102905080

I agree, I would rather just see her stick to the current format. After all that’s what made her channel great and if she changes it I’m afraid people might lose interest.

Terry Yelmene
>>102905284

@Brad P - Cassie may need a full box for each of these, ultra impactful episodes. IMHO, this is the best show produced in the last 2-3 years.

MatthewBrown74m

Why last of us you never even played the game lol

Brad P
>>102905284

I agree! And I'll also admit to getting a little dust in my eye every episode as well.

Nathan Steele
>>102906338

Its one of the biggest shows on TV right now. Bigger than House of the Dragons was. I dont think most of those people have played the game either

Aaron Mann
>>102906338

I never played the game either and I think the show is great. Is playing the game a prerequisite to watch the show?

Grant

I would love a live Mando watch along if possible. Would be fun to watch with you and the patreon gang as the show drops!

Robin Craft

Playing the game is NOT a prerequisite for watching the series. It's great not knowing what will happen and I absolutely love TLOU.

Terry Yelmene

@MatthewBrown74m - I'm old, biased against video games (never play 'em), watched the first episode of the Walking Dead - hated it, in fact, swore off vampires, werewolves, anything like that long ago... BUT, I'll tell you WHY 'The Last Of Us...' It's one of the greatest love for humanity, will to live, not just survive, and essence of what it means to be human, stories to come down the pike in a very, very long time. TLOU is astonishingly inspired. That's 'why.'

Mike Lemon

So eager to see who the guest presenters will be. Will Carly slap the bejeebus out of Cassie? Will Ricky Gervais show up to roast everybody? Only a few more days wait before we find out.

Christopher Smith

Last of Us is solid, maybe do The Witcher after that. F5 till Bubba shows up. I think a prime choice for a Live watch-a-long would be some classic TV show episodes from movies you have/should see. Get a couple classic episodes of Mission Impossible, A-Team, Star Trek, Hogan's Heros, and so on. It would be off the norm and focus is not required so you can interact with chat and no one feels like they missing out on a movie thing.

Jon Johns
>>102904978

Normally, Cassie does a long intro and outro, and doesn't look at chat during the watch along...

Eric Wallace

Poppies, 4 episodes of boba fett, wakanda forever, and last of us. Busy week.

Richard Maurer

The only reason that you'd have to play the game first is if you like spoilers. If not then you're good.

Alex Gorell

You don’t need to have played the game to watch this show. The game is a lot better than the show but the show is great on its own.

Richard Maurer
>>102908423

I have no problem with gamers normally, but I've noticed that some of them will drop spoilers in the comments like it's no big deal, because they seem to assume that everybody's played the game. I even had to stop watching some reactors who are dropping spoilers - you'd think they'd know better. I hope we don't have that problem here.

Luke Godfrey

Really looking forward to your reaction to The Last Of Us. It’s absolutely excellent!!

Aaron Mann
>>102906338

I actually kinda like "going in blind" and not knowing what's going to happen in each episode.

Ed Garland

I also agree with others, and respectfully vote NO for a live watch along for the new Mando's. Also very eager for you to finish the last 3 episodes of Boba Fett!! And The Last of Us will be great watching with you! Thank you Cassie!

Philip Alan

"OMG! They hung that shirt on the fence just like in the game!! I'm gonna die!!!"

Jennifer Medicus

I've been rewatching Mandalorian/Boba Fett in prep for Season 3 and am getting through your full lengths now. Hope you enjoy The Last of Us. That was a hard pass for me.

Bill W
>>102905975

I have no idea what Queen Bond means. "On Her Majesty's Secret Service"?? I don't think that one got votes in any poll.

'Pappy' Johnston

The Last of Us is one of my favorite video games on the planet! (As well as TLOU2.) AS A SUPER FAN, I was right there with everybody else When I talked about making it a series, worried that they were going to mess it up. Well I've been watching it from the beginning and I have to say they are doing a stupendous fantastic awesome slurp-a-licious job at presenting and representing the source material. I definitely, and happily, will watch/rewatch it again with you. 👍🏻🙂

Stick Figure Studios

Haven't seen LAST OF US yet, but my own reaction to WAKANDA FOREVER was... mixed.

Stick Figure Studios
>>102905975

She's obviously referring to ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE, the sole George Lazenby entry. She said she was watching that one after Connery and then she's doing a Roger Moore poll.

G

Yes, Cassie. The Last of Us, IMO is one of the greatest Playstation games out there, and HBO's The Last of Us is an excellent series.

My_Cousin_Mose

I've been on the fence about watching The Last of Us but this seals the deal. Everyone says its great...good chance they're right.

Pickupthepieces76
>>102907141

Even though I'm sure there is a video game of it, The Walking Dead is based on a comic, not a video game. The show had it's ups and downs, but it isn't meant to be a lame 2 dimensional zombie show. In fact, so far The Last of Us reminds me of that show. As in the end goal is not that important, it's more based on the journey and character development than plot driven. More of an exploration of humanity in an extreme situation. I haven't played the Last of Us game, so I don't know what happens next, but so far they are quite similar in their approach. Now you can have your own opinion and taste of course, but it seems if you like The Last of Us you would like The Walking Dead more than you did. Maybe you should have given it at least a season (first season is 6 eps or something) before giving up.

Pickupthepieces76
>>102908423

For the gamers it feels like non-gamers are invading on their territory and they feel like somehow they have to show that they were there first (the og or real fans so to speak), and somehow keep it exclusive in a way. Same with people that read the Game of Thrones books way before the show started. Even though I feel like they weren't too bad with spoiling.

Pickupthepieces76
>>102925200

Same here on Wakanda, but my expectations weren't that high. Phase 4 has been mediocre at best and I thought the first movie was over hyped anyway. I would still watch WF again, also good to get a second viewing to cement my opinion, but it's so long.

Pickupthepieces76

As a European the watch-alongs aren't really an option to attend when it's in your evening, which I think it will mostly be. Also I think that format works better for once in a while with a movie you already seen and just have fun with the chat and stuff. Don't think it has too much added value for watching shows or movies in general, cause you would have to ignore chat anyway. Maybe just on the last one or something.

Caomhan84

Cassie is my favorite reactor by far, a cozy, happy watch....but everyone is doing The Last of Us.... everyone. I'm not sure I can tune in for another person. 😂 Don't get me wrong, I love the first game and I love the story and I'm sure she will enjoy it, but I don't know if I can watch another person react to it. 😂 I might have to skip those. Or maybe just tune in for key moments.

James1035

I know I’m in the minority on this, but I didn’t really like The Last of Us. I watched the first 3-4 episodes and lost interest.

Stick Figure Studios
>>102925200

For me, WF was really two movies. When it's the first one (a heartfelt tribute to the late Chadwick Boseman), it's pretty good. When it's the second (a standard bloated MCU product), it's not as good.

Richard Maurer
>>102908423

It's kind of weird for the gamers to think that way. I don't see that happening the other way around, where books, movies, comics, etc are turned into games, and the fans come into the games acting like they are above all the gamers. I get it that this is arguably the first game adaptation that's actually good, but they made it for more than just the gamers.

Alan Kobb

I have to agree with so many. The Last of Us has been reacted TO DEATH. Please don't board that train! As for the Live Mandilorian watch-along? That I'm 100% FOR! What could be better than live Baby Yoda and live Cassie at the same time!

Terry Yelmene
>>102906338

I fell upon TLOU reactions early on, and fell hard, so my YT feed is fulll of them. After dozens, likely, a couple of hundred watched throughout the 7 episodes (this far), it has become really quite evident, that the reactors that HAVEN'T PLAYED and HAVE NO VISIBILITY as to WHAT'S COMING NEXT are thoroughly MUCH MORE SATISFIED by the pure perfection of this near MIRACULOUS SERIES. In my experience of observing those reating to TLOU, it is better 'NOT' TO HAVE PLAYED THE GAME BEFORE WATCHING THE SHOW!!!

KMJ

I don't get why Cassie, one of the most positive reactors on YT, has so many negative followers who don't want her watching anything remotely popular. If you don't want to watch her react to TLOU, don't watch. I'll be watching for sure and so will many new viewers. It's an amazing show and I can't wait to see what she makes of it.

Cade

Just as a counterpoint to the people wanting you not to do it - I am going to enjoy watching The Last of Us with you, Cassie. I haven't watched nor am I interested in watching any other reactors.

Terry Yelmene
>>102945590

James1035 - Its okay James (and the three people who liked Jame's comment as I'm replying here). Subjectively there can be different experiences, different motivations, and more, that may make up matters of personal taste... all kinds of factors that can influence a 'like' or a 'dislike...' It is OKAY to not 'like' TLOU - subjectively. BUT OBJECTIVELY... 'The Last Of Us' is nearly outside the REALM of SUBJECTIVITY. This series masterfully, almost miraculously peels back layers to authentically reveal life, love and the foundational nature of humanity itself like few television experiences have. Again, James TLOU may not be for you... but I truly believe the enrichment this series can bring, should 'be...'' for nearly everyone.

Terry Yelmene
>>102965280

@Alan Kobb - I appreciate your opinion, it's a good one, and lots of folks will share it... but mine would be Joel and Ellie over Yoda every day that ends in a 'y.'

James1035
>>102945590

I know its okay for me and the three others to have this opinion. That's why I posted it. What are you even talking about in your second paragraph? How is something out of the realm of subjectivity? Everything we watch is subject to our own likes and dislikes. I'm curious what you mean by enrichment should be for everyone?

Gary David Holbrook
>>102971241

KMJ, with all due respect for those that may want to express dissenting opinions here on PiB; personally I believe most of it gushes to the service mainly because these same folks suffer from a much-needed lack of sunshine. "This decrease in sunlight may disrupt your body's internal clock and lead to feelings of depression. Serotonin levels. A drop in serotonin, a brain chemical (neurotransmitter) that affects mood, might play a role in SAD ." (mayoclinic.org) Bless their hearts.

Jones

Cassie, please ignore the negative on TLOU. It’s a fantastic series and you will absolutely love it. No doubt. Enjoy - I look forward to those reactions!

Caomhan84
>>102971241

Oh she can absolutely watch it if she wants. I just don't think I'll be tuning in because I've seen so many people react to it already. If I do, it will be for her reaction to specific moments. For me, it's like Avatar The Last Airbender.... I love that show to death, but I've now seen it 6 times, between my own viewings and watching people react to it. For me to watch it again, I would really have to muster the energy. It's the same with TLOU. I adore the first game, and I mostly enjoy what they have been doing with the show. But for me personally, I don't know if I'll be able to do another reaction viewing. I can see others absolutely enjoying it, however.

Krusty “Topher”
>>102945590

The fact that you downplay a Subjective comment and then make another Subjective comment by stating it’s Objective is not only ridiculous but makes me not want to watch this show even more. Although I did watch the trailer and Subjectively speaking it didn’t objectively move my interest meter.

Richard Maurer
>>102925200

Wakanda was okay, but could have been much better. Now the new Ant-man and Wasp movie was considerably better (though still not great) and it finally looks like we're getting back to the cross-movie storyline continuation that made the MCU great to begin with.

Richard Maurer
>>102906338

Saying you have to play the game first is no different than people who say you have to watch Star Trek before Galaxy Quest - No, you really don't.

G
>>102965280

The Mandalorian has been reacted TO DEATH as well.

James1035
>>102971241

People are allowed to have a dissenting opinion on things. Not everyone likes the same things.

Richard Maurer
>>102971241

There are certain people here who are of the opinion that new = bad. They, much like the people who think old = bad, are wrong.

David Freese

Now that I'm back I vote for the live watch along. I enjoy the ones I've been part of.

Doug R

The best thing about this week and most of last year is all of the bad movies and show reactions are being done in hopes that finally the channel will get back to watching good content.

Ian Cano

Are the Poppies on? I don't see anything on YouTube.
