I know I complain loudly twice a year about daylight savings, but can we just not? That, and the fact that my kids had Mondee and Tuesdee off school this week is really throwing me for a loop. I keep forgetting important things. LIKE THIS update post yesterday.

Ok lots of manly men this week. This is the way sometimes you know?

Roger Moore Bond Poll just went up-already a ton of votes and pretty close!

I am hoping I can fit in a surprise upload this week as well :) Rhymes with Loomstone, but it might have to be next week depending on how the cookie crumbles.

Also coming up is our first WMW (War Movie Wednesday) which I'm hoping to do one Wednesday a month, so a poll will come out for that this week!

Be well mellow yellows ;)

Platoon here we come! Also, for Foreign Film Friday I vote for Ip Man.

I'm one of the few people that don't mind daylight savings time. I hate losing that hour in March, but love the extra daylight. And in fall I like getting to sleep in that extra hour. True story: the government almost past the "stay in daylight savings time" act/law not to long ago, but it was the school parents that stopped it because they feared in the morning it was to dark for the kids and they would be run over by cars.

No action month is complete without TRUE LIES. Come on, Cassie, you know it's time!

Bill Maurer

Keep em coming ... Hope you can squeeze in some movies like "Patton", "The Kings Speech" or "Darkest Hour". Maybe they aren't war movies per se, but focus on or around the events of WW 2. Thanks to the PIB crew !!!

Todzilla

↖️ with a profile picture like "this" glad you are getting back to the Mandalorian 😉

Tanner

Time changes need to go away permanently. And while we're at it can we just do 13 months of 28 days every year so I can get some stability? Don't forget spring break is here too

Shawn Kildal

All I heard was rhymes with Loomstone

Clifton Owens

Bright Angel, many of your senior fan would love for you and your sister see Shakespeare In Love and RomComs you’ve already seen like Serendipity, French Kiss, You’ve Got Mail, Letter to Juliet - just to see your reactions. Pick your favorites for us please.

Speaking of Star Wars, any of you watching Bad Batch season 2? It's pretty awesome. In my opinion, even better than Mandalorian.

Tim Raths

I still haven’t watched Cassie’s reaction to the first John Wick film. I suppose I should get on that soon. 😅

After the Bond movie, there is another Indian Spy Universe where you can watch them fall in love and have crazy action adventures. Right now it's a growing spy universe with more movies and crossovers to come with 3 main secret agents this is a big request please watch these movies. The first one is Ek Tha tiger (2012) follows up by Tiger Zinda Hai (2015). A Spin-off with War (2019) and another spin-off with a crossover with Tiger is Pathaan (2023) which is right now in theatre globally and is one of the highest-grossing movies in India right now.

Here in God's country, that would be Arizona, the wonderful Apache Indians, have a great saying that I learned as a kid and I think pretty much sums up daylight savings time, to a 'T'. The saying goes, "Only the White-Man would think you could cut two feet off the bottom of a blanket, sew it to the top of the blanket and have a longer blanket!" 🤣😂🤣😂😂

Ahmad Zain

These movies have the Biggest Indian actors Like Shahrukh khan, Salman Khan, & Hrithik Roshan. These movies have great spy-adventure, and love stories, and the commercial song breaks for fun. M favorite is Hrithik Roshan's War this one story has a similar point to Captain American And the Winter Soldier. So please watch them when u get the chance.

Tonio

Nice!

Carly: Going into business for ourselves, Doc. Cassie just got us a reaction channel. Doc: Oh, since when are reactions a business? Cassie: Don't you always say that YouTube is an honest trade? Doc: No, I said TicToc is an honest trade. Only suckers spend their time watching movie reactions. Cassie: Depends on how you look at. It's not like anyone's putting a gun to their head, now is it? Doc: That's what I love about Cassie. She can talk herself into anything.

Nismo

Is it Rhinestone with Sylvester Stallone?😅 😜

I support ending DST as long as we, in Saskatchewan, stay in the MST zone. We are one of the few places who don’t do DST, so we move back and forth between MST and CST. I love when sports start an hour earlier.

Bill W

Hooray for "This week on Youtube."

Gábor Árki

Looking forward to the WMW poll and hoping it might eventually lead to a Kelly's Heroes reaction. 😉 Cassie, I was contemplating whether to write this or not, but I think it might be helpful if you happen to read it before your reaction. Regarding John Wick 2, I think it is worth mentioning that in some ways the sequels are very different movies compared to the first. I don't want to spoil anything, so all I'm saying at this point that it might be best to let go of any expectations you might have based on the first one.

The TV Series started this month. Definitely its time. Before she winds up watching a commercial for it and seeing a plot point spoiler.

Mike Lemon
>>104082526

It was stopped because Pelosi never brought it up for a vote, not because "parents stopped it". Or are you talking about a different law? State level or not-U.S., perhaps? You don't get an extra hour no matter how you change the clock. Make 05:00 into 12:00 and the same amount of daylight happens. I just looked and about half the states already have laws ending the clock changes when the feds give the OK.

Mike Lemon

End the stupid clock switch! Last year I was so discombobulated I had my shirt inside out and backwards for seven hours before I noticed.

Mike LL
>>104082550

Yes! True Lies! Arnaald! Jamie Freaking Lee Curtis! James Cameron! Spy Stuff! Yes!

Todzilla
>>104082526

I should have been clearer by saying this was tried in the 70s and parents stopped it: https://time.com/6261629/daylight-savings-time-2023/ Also I totally understand that there are not extra hours, or less hours. It's just how we "observe" the day changes. With the changes, all the time everyone "observes" changes so in spring we have to "be everywhere" an hour earlier and in fall an hour later. In fall I use that "change" to sleep in lol

Justin Schuller

I work at 3:30 AM Central time on Sundays, so I set my alarm for 2:30 AM. Well, during "spring forward" daylight saving time, 2:30 AM doesn't exist. It's so annoying...

Baron Imhoof
>>104082560

I think all three are perfect choices for her. Very character driven, yet with very high dramatic stakes and tension.

Baron Imhoof

I live in Indiana and spent most of my life without DST, before they changed it in 2006. We lived right along the line between Eastern and Central, so my dad put four antennas on top of the tower. That way, if we missed it at 7pm our time, we could just switch from a station in the Eastern zone to one in the Central zone. Ft. Wayne, Bloomington and and Indianapolis in the Eastern, South Bend and Lafayette in the Central. As a kid, that meant I could watch cartoons later on Saturday morning, and Sammy Terry earlier Saturday night. Also, it got us around any network decisions on where to broadcast what games. For example, CBS had a network feed for national broadcast, plus they would carry local teams in that region. So, if the CBS station in Indianapolis was carrying the Giants and Cowboys, we could switch to CBS out of South Bend and watch the Bears and Packers. Same with baseball: Indianapolis gave me the Reds, South Bend the Cubs, and Ft. gave me Cleveland. That situation lasted into the cable era, but ended with DST, so I was annoyed. Now I think I'll go yell at the clouds to get off my grass.

Jim Williams

OMG... I have watched SO MANY War Movies. I hope I won't offend people by listing some (okay, a lot) I would enjoy seeing your reactions to. "To Hell and Back" (the story of the real Captain America, not that comic-book joke) "The Alamo" (John Wayne version) "Gone with the Wind" "Zulu" "Patton" * "Kenneth Branagh's 'Henry V' " "The Enemy Below" "The Guns of Navarone" "The Light Horsemen" "Galipoi" "Breaker Morant" "Lawrence of Arabia" "Kelly's Heroes" "Where Eagles Dare" "The Four Feathers" (pick your version) "Heaven Knows Mr Allison" "Stalag 17" "Von Ryan's Express" "She Wore a Yellow Ribbon" "The Man Who Would Be King" "Bridge on the River Kwai" "The Battle of the Bulge" "Hanover Street" "Gettysburg" "The Crossing" "The Green Berets" "Hamburger Hill" "The Flight of the Intruder" "Sahara" (you'd probably prefer the Bogart version; both are good) "In Harm's Way" "Mr Roberts" "Operation Petticoat" "Memphis Belle" "55 Days in Peking" "In Pursuit of Honor" "Alvarez Kelly" "The Horse Soldiers" "12 O'Clock High" "The Private War of Major Benson" * Being a product of the modern age, you will probably hate General Patton, personally, in "Patton", but it's still a great war movie.

Elliot Nesterman

Of the many excellent war films noted by Jim Williams above, there are three that are of great significance in cinema history: Gone with the Wind; The Bridge on the River Kwai; and Lawrence of Arabia. Lawrence of Arabia (1962) dir. David Lean, starring Peter O'Toole, Omar Sharif, Alec Guiness, and Anthony Quinn, with many other great actors in supporting roles, is widely regarded as one of the world's greatest films. Nominated for ten Oscars it won seven: Best Picture, Director, Art Direction, Cinematography, Editing, Score, and Sound. It was nominated for five BAFTAs winning four: Best Film, Best British Film, Best British Actor, Best British Screenplay. I saw Lawrence of Arabia first run when I was a kid, my parents took me, and scenes from it have stuck with me all my life. Also, Maurice Jarre's score is absolutely gorgeous. It's good that you watch films on a larger screen, as opposed to a laptop, as the cinematography is sweeping. Showbiz titbit: At the premiere Noël Coward quipped, "If Peter O'Toole had been any prettier they'd have had to call it Florence of Arabia."

Jim Williams

IMO, the best 3 *anti* war movies ever made were "Good Bad and the Ugly", "Kenneth Branagh's Henry V" and "Hamburger Hill"...

Jon Johns

I want to throw this suggestion in the ring: A 'POW' war film, set in Japan during WWII, starring John Malcovich, and baby Batman, Christian Bale, playing a 12 year old British boy, who comes of age among the civilian and military POWs. Directed by Steven Speilberg, "Empire of the Sun" is a lovely, heart wrenching and heartwarming film that launched Bale's career. Would make an interesting contrast to Bridge on the River Kwai, for a variety of reasons.

Jim Williams

I just now noticed... "Mondee"? "Tuesdee"?

Jim Williams
>>104116794

I almost added that to my list, but I can't watch that movie. It *is* an excellent movie, but I get too agitated by it. (and that would have made 2 Christian Bale movies in the list; Henry V and Empire of the Sun")

Jim Williams
>>104112671

I added Patton (probably as you were posting your reply lol). It was one of my favorite war films growing up. "Battle of Britain" was *also* excellent!

Jon Johns
>>104118853

Might be a reference to Amy Sedaris, who hosts a little comedy skit show, and says "Fridee" a lot...

Happy Hanukkah
>>104093833

What a coincidence, I thought the same thing had happened to me! But after several more hours, I realized that my shirt was just fine; *I* was the one who was inside out and backwards.

Joe

Why Wick 2? My impression when Cassie watched the first Wick film is she didn't care for it much. Once you've seen 1, 2 & 3 are just the same really. Waiting for Point Break and True Lies, hopefully soon.

Björn Karlsson
>>104082550

Hmm.... I joined popcorn request like a year ago. True lies has been ranked as nr.1 at least a year or so. Soooo it's definitely time 🙂

Brandon Gibbs

Have you ever checked my suggestions yet? Twins and Passenger 57

Mike Lemon

War(ish) movies nobody suggests- Tuskegee Airmen (1995) probably the most in the spirit of "war movie" Transformers the Movie (1986) probably least in the spirit, but maybe... Outlaw Josey Wales (1976) Love and Death (1975) M*A*S*H (1970) Messenger- The Story of Joan of Arc (1999) Sniper (1993) less "war", more "one solder fighting" Spartacus (1960) Throne of Blood (1957) War and Peace (1956) Windtalkers (2002)

>>104082560

I would LOVE for her (and Carly) to watch the King's Speech. Such a brilliant and wonderful movie.

rakeshldn

Actually its " 'ello Guv'nor." Also. Memphis Belle is a great war movie.

Jayson Phillips

Watch Greenland a great movie that never got attention because it was release to video during the Pandemic!

>>104116794

My opinion but it does not get much better than Henry V.
