Hey guys! Here is the YT edit for The American President, which will premiere shortly. We had to use the patreon video player because we were running into lots of copyright issues. Hope you enjoy!

How did I miss this earlier, I have been asking for this since becoming a member! I can't wait to watch this later tonight.

Shadow Queen

Love this movie! This was written before The West Wing and it led to Sorkin creating the West Wing, with a few of the actors crossing over ❤️

Craig Russell

President Bill Clinton's favorite movie!!! LOL

Jeff Rogers

Michael Douglas? The China Syndrome, Romancing the Stone, Disclosure... Lots of good movies.

"I'm just a girl, standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her.” Notting Hill, Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts.

You had me at President

Don’t you guys think that Cassie and Carly would like to see a young Kevin Costner in a western, aka Silverado (1985)?

TT

I loved watching this with you, but I admit I regret not doing the full version. That's my next goal. It was a movie right up your alley for sure! Great reaction!

Kirk & Dawn VanWinkle

I think Cassie and Carly would also enjoy an almost as young Kevin Costner in a 1987 Pentagon based, under the radar drama entitled "No Way Out." The movie's co-stars include "Crimson Tide" alums Gene Hackman and George Dzundza, along with Will Patton. Anyone else recommend this movie?

Romancing the Stone and Falling Down. Practically the same character. :-) I'm a fan of his (and certainly of many of his movies), but there is some truth to the criticism that "He doesn't so much act as direct himself." (Again, I'd be happy to see more of his movies here.)

David Woodbridge

As a big "West Wing" fan, it's strange to see Martin Sheen addressing someone else as Mr. President! But as you said, Cassie, Michael Douglas is very presidential too! And, technically, he came first! :) Season 1 of "The West Wing" and "The American President" have very similar story arcs. In both stories, a Democratic President tries to increase his re-electability by being a centrist. However, his timid centrism is causing him to support ineffectual policies. He realizes he needs to reembrace his liberal values, and, as a result, he achieves great popularity and success.

Besides his wife and very impressive resume, Michael Douglas is also the son of The Kirk Douglas.

My Independence Day tradition is to invite all my neighbours for a huge pot of poutine. God Bless America, y'all! :-)

Oh, and regarding Rob Reiner, you've seen: Stand By Me, The Princess Bride, When Harry Met Sally, A Few Good Men. For roughly a decade, he was an extremely successful director.

Romancing the Stone and Falling Down.... not at all the same character.

Don’t forget Misery! And she should really see This is Spinal Tap if she hasn’t.

David Crabtree

I've always enjoyed this film and its characters, despite their deeply flawed politics.

Russell Teo

If you really love Michael Douglas, pls watch him at his best when he portrayed the morally bankrupt Gordon Gecko in Wall St movies. Time to explore corporate espionage dramas. And if you like this genre with darker horror flavor, perhaps you can try Keanu Reeves and Al Pacino’s Devils Advocate which also co-star Charlize Theron & Connie Nielsen

Jack Pflieder

Great to see this movie was done. What a fun movie.

Orcagirl78

If you loved this, you'd probably enjoy the West Wing TV series. This one was basically a blueprint for that series.

Yeah, that's a favorite series of hers. She has said the Jed is her President.
