[Full Reaction] Primal Fear (1996)

Comments

Priscila

If you like Richard Gere and courtroom stories, you should try 'Red Corner', its awesome!

Matt Rose

Can't wait to watch this and see your reaction. This was a wild film to see theatrically back in the day and experience the audience reaction. Everyone, be cool and avoid spoilery chat in here for those who have not seen the film.

Omar

Don’t know how there’s a Norton movie I haven’t seen 😳. I’ll have to que this up and watch along sometime this week

Matt Rose
>>115718534

You're in for a ride. Go in clean, though...don't read up on the film.

JL_83

this was Edward Norton’s debut and he picked up an Oscar nomination…maybe he can make a career in movies? 😂

Johnny Salinas

Spooky court room movie for Halloween 🎃 Try "The Exorcism of Emily Rose" 🎃😊

Zane From Canada

This one was a big shocker! Hard to believe this was Edward Norton's second movie and he gets an Oscar nomination. Very deserved, he's an incredible actor. I loved Witness Week. Very clever name. 😁 There were two under-rated gems that didn't even get a mention. I can believe I didn't even mention them because they're really good: Suspect (1987) Cher, Dennis Quaid, Liam Neeson. Great courtroom thriller True Believer (1989) James Woods, Robert Downey Jr. Fantastic miscarriage of justice courtroom drama. Oh well there's always next time. 😁

Bill Hayden

Poor Richard Gere looks like petrified wood next to Ed Norton

Robert da Spruce

Can’t remember if I’ve actually seen this one. 🤔 I think I have. But don’t remember any details. Either way, I look forward to your reaction Cassie!

Johnny Salinas

Edward Norton's 1st movie. Talk about hitting the ground running 😀

Shehab Dawoud

This is one that's similar to The Usual Suspects. You very much like it the first time, but with every re-watch, you're less interested in the actual plot of the film, and you're just waiting for the twist. And what a twist it is! This was Ed Norton's on-screen debut. There are not many who can compete with him in that regard. Nominated for best supporting actor, lost to... Cuba Gooding in Jerry Maguire, which is a decent performance, but they surely regret that decision now. Edward Norton is unlucky in the sense that he is very much a 70s actor. He's a Pacino, De Niro, Nicholson type, and movies have unfortunately moved away from that style. He's also fairly or unfairly earned a reputation for being tough to work with and demanding too much influence, and for that reason he never had the career he was supposed to. It's a shame because to me he's the most talented actor of his generation. We definitely need to see more of him here. Rounders (should've won the recent poll) American History X (tough but a must watch) The Score Red Dragon (more suitable here than the superior Manhunter) 25th Hour Motherless Brooklyn He's great in everything even if the film itself is not great. A fun theme week. Definitely need ...And Justice For All and The Devil's Advocate on a poll next time. Maybe you could watch the latter in October!

Gábor Árki

This is the one I was waiting for the most. Haven't seen it in a long time but remember the end very well and that Edward Norton was really great. PS: 4th place was THE PELICAN BRIEF (10%), THE RAINMAKER was a close 5th (9%) PPS: Cassie, have you decided on which version of THE ABYSS you're going to react to? The theatrical is shorter and leaves out some important character scenes and a whole subplot to squeeze it into near 2 hours. I prefer the longer special edition for having more depth and proper thematic conclusion. Neither version is available for streaming/renting.

jenny from montana

This was Ed Norton's first role, believe it or believe it. Got an Oscar nom and everything!

Zachary K. (Verified Swiftie)

Absolutely the Exorcism of Emily Rose that is based of a true story. Great suggestion. Primal Fear this one blew me away. Great performance by Edward Norton. I never saw this one coming great movie.

Cole Jennett

Next year’s Witness week will every bit as good I bet!😊

Jerrod Acree

Great film. Amazing actor. His breakout role.

Steve Miller

Looking forward to watching the entire reaction. Great week. Erin Brokovich was enjoyable; Philadelphia is not an enjoyable movie (to me) but it is a great look into how things were at the time (and may still be). This one has some of the best acting I have ever seen. Hope you enjoyed it.

Stick Figure Studios

As has been mentioned before, this was Edward Norton's debut and he received a well-deserved Oscar nomination for it. He's terrific, but I think Richard Gere is woefully underappreciated in this film. He also gives a great performance that really anchors the movie and his character arc is very compelling. Obviously everybody talks about the final scene and how shocking it is, but I find the final shot to be very striking, memorable and poignant. It's one of my favorite closing images of any film ever. I can't wait to watch this reaction.

David Crabtree

Th-Th-Th-this is s-s-such a good movie.

Just Plain Bob

Regarding Cassie’s question at the end, Martin Vail won’t disclose Aaron Stampler’s duplicity for at least two reasons. First, it’s a privileged attorney/client communication. He’s forbidden to disclose such communications. Second, Stampler’s already been declared not guilty by reason of insanity, so the double jeopardy clause of the Constitution forbids retrial. Worse yet, if Vail did disclose the conversation at the end, not only could he be disbarred, but it could result in Stampler’s early release from the psychiatric hospital, since it would make it evident that he doesn’t suffer from MPD and is quite sane (though evil). PS: As far as the love story aspect of the film is concerned, I think it is far preferable that Venable and Vail didn’t end up together. First of all, I’m kinda sick and tired of the trope that, if you’ve got attractive male and female leads, there just has to be a love story. Second, she could do a hell of a lot better than him. PPS: Cassie’s statement that she’s gonna be thinking about this one for quite a while is the mark of a good movie.

Andrew Rose

it's funny but I saw this movie many many years ago, and i never forgot it... watching Cassie's reaction to it takes me back to all the OMG moments I had the same as she did while watching this... too cool. Great reaction Cassie!!

Rick Williams

I loved it to Cassie. I loved witness week. Great idea.

Celeste McAllister

Witness week was one for the history books,I loved it Cassie, let's do it again💜

Just Plain Bob

How about a feel good week? My nominees would be: 1. Singin’ in the Rain 2. Miracle 3. World’s Fastest Indian

Just Plain Bob
>>115727358

And a “Girl With/Who…”/Millennium week with The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played With Fire and The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet’s Nest.

Björn Karlsson
>>115727358

Take the three highest ranked non-english on popcorn request. C Tiger-H dragon, Apocalypto and Show me love. Done 🙂

Mike LL

Watching this riveting reaction was great for how much Cassie got invested into every single character ("I hate that one!" "I love that one!") and especially it was fun watching her re-live her "Norman Bates" moment! 😂😂😂

Mike LL

I was thinking while watching the Philadelphia reaction that this was a movie with two really big and famous actors, and actors that Cassie already knows and likes, so it would be great to find more movies like that, for a Theme Week. (Great Actors Week, I don't know, I don't have great ideas about the title.) It's just an excuse to plug some movies with actors that I like and actors Cassie wants to see more of like: Past examples: THE STING - Paul Newman and Robert Redford BUTCH CASSIDY AND THE SUNDANCE KID - ditto PHILADELPHIA - Tom Hanks and Denzel Washington So my suggestions; THE TOWERING INFERNO - Paul Newman and Steve McQueen THE PHILADELPHIA STORY - Cary Grant and James Stewart NO WAY OUT - Kevin Costner and Gene Hackman I'm sure there are others :)

Odd Thomas

Congo is the Laura Linney film you didn't know you needed.

Gábor Árki

This indeed turned out to be a great reaction. The movie was playing Cassie like a fiddle, but to be fair, it did me as well for the first time and I assume most of the audience. In a big part I attribute that to the great performance of Norton but also the writing which puts one's suspicion at rest with some well-timed turns. Knowing how the movie ends there was one specific scene that caught my attention this time, when Vail and Aaron talk in his cell: - "Your job is just to sit there and look innocent." - "Well, l am innocent." - "That's exactly how l want you to look." - "This is how l always look." - "Well, then you're way ahead of the game already, aren't you?" And then Aaron starts to smile, as if he slipped out of his character just for a moment hearing a compliment. Some ideas for another movie theme week: 1. I support the foreign movie week idea of Björn 2. Sports movie week But please no baseball/box/football 😃, let's give some other sports a chance. 3. Musketeers' week (seen it suggested by someone a while ago) I have the following in mind: THE THREE MUSKETEERS (1973), THE FOUR MUSKETEERS (1974), THE MAN IN THE IRON MASK (1998) 4. Best of the 60s theme week 3 poll winners from 8 randomly drawn movies from the top 50 requested movies from the 60s: https://popcornrequests.com/filters_binary/eyJjdXN0b20iOiIhKG0ueWVhcj49MTk2MCAmJiBtLnllYXI8MTk3MCkifQ== 5. >>115733127

I like the ideas of the 3 Musketeers week and especially the format of the 60's and 70's polls.

Gábor Árki
>>115733127

The 60s and 70s have been somewhat neglected so far with only 10 and 17 reactions, so I keep recommending this idea hoping it is getting some traction. 😃 In comparison even the 50s has now 12 reactions, the 80s has 63 and 90s is leading with 88 reactions.

Matt Rose

Cassie: For your next theme, consider the following theme: CAR CHASES. So many really, really well done thrillers out there with great car chases. RONIN, TO LIVE AND DIE IN L.A., THE FRENCH CONNECTION, THE SEVEN UPS, BULLIT, MAD MAX 2/THE ROAD WARRIOR... You could have a lot of fun.

Matt Rose
>>115733127

I'm 100% all in for the 1973/74 MUSKETEERS films. Some of my favorites. Those were recently released on 4K by the way...well worth picking up if you're a fan of the films.

ContrabandDonut
>>115727765

I'm new. Wait, she, they haven't seen Singin' in the Rain??? This needs correcting. Now I don't care if you do it for the channel - though Id prefer it - but watch Singin' in the Rain. Soon. I gotta go watch the umbrella scene now.

Rick Williams

Great movie. It has some twists. Don't worry, Cassie. This movie got everyone. Great Reaction, Cassie. You are getting pretty good at this reaction stuff. Keep up the good work. And more Court stuff; The Pelican Brief, Presumed Innocent; The Verdict; The Client, just to name a few.

James Amyx

Tom Cruise week! There are so many great TC movies you haven't seen yet. Born on the Forth of July, Magnolia, Collateral, Vanilla Sky, Eyes Wide Shut, War of the Worlds, Valkyrie.

Tara

Cassie, if you want to see a young Richard Gere, check out An Officer and a Gentleman. I hope you do watch The Rainmaker, you (and Carly) will love it.

Jason Dolan

The Rainmaker is phenomenal and the movie Matt Damon booked either right before or right after Good Will Hunting so you're getting premium Damon in this film. Also incredible acting all around. Truly an impressive cast and one of Francis Ford Coppola's best movies bot 1970s. A good early Richard Gere movie is An Officer and a Gentleman but that movie will tug at your heart strings. It is another way of looking at Naval Aviators outside of Top Gun in the 80s. Losing out to this role which Edward Norton landed along with an Oscar nomination was the inception to Ben Affleck and Matt Damon writing Good Will Hunting. One Richard Gere movie you really need to see is CHICAGO and he also plays a lawyer in THAT! Also, Paul Newman's THE VERDICT will eventually win a poll put it is an all time classic courtroom drama.

Rick Williams
>>115733127

No baseball? No football? There are no good sports left. 😲 Well, there may be a few good sports movies even if the sport is not the best like, Youngblood, Tin Cup, The Fighter, Slap Shot, The color of money, Caddyshack, Rollerball (1975), Escape to Victory. Just to name a few.

Shehab Dawoud
>>115733127

A Basketball movie is long overdue. There are some really good ones out there. White Men Can't Jump Above The Rim Blue Chips He Got Game Love And Basketball The Way Back Hustle You could also add two movies that aren't exactly Basketball movies, but are very related, in Uncut Gems and Air!

Gábor Árki
>>115733127

So far baseball, box and football dominated the sports genre on the channel. Besides the ones you named: MIRACLE (hockey), INVICTUS (rugby), CHARIOTS OF FIRE (running), THE WORLD'S FASTEST INDIAN (speed bike), MCFARLAND USA (cross-country).

Gábor Árki
>>115730565

Walter Matthau and Jack Lemmon? One of the best comedic duos in cinema history although Matthau did not appear yet on the channel. They have quite a lot of collabs, but probably THE ODD COUPLE and GRUMPY OLD MEN are the most recognized.

Earthwalker
>>115718485

Red Corner is such a good movie and I was mixing up Primal Fear and Red Corner. I am hoping to see a reaction to Red Corner someday.

Earthwalker

Great reaction to a great movie. What a performance from Edward Norton. Speaking of great performances in courtroom drama, another great movie is "Murder in the First" with Christian Slater, Gary Oldman and a phenomenal Kevin Bacon. Also "Runaway Jury" with John Cusack,Gene Hackman, Dustin Hoffmann and Rachel Weisz (just to name a few) is another great movie with a slight different perspective and like "The Pelican Brief" and "A Time to Kill" is based on a John Grisham book.

David Collins

I agree. One more courtroom drama is needed. This is the second time I watched Primal Fear. I hated it in many ways the first time, for reasons I think you'll agree are pretty reasonable, and despite fully appreciating the high level performance from Edward Norton - the guy is insanely talented - and really the entire cast. But this just goes to show that perspective is everything. Because as a reaction watch along, this movie was pure solid gold. I could not WAIT for it. And here I thought I would never ever watch this movie again. I think you really need that other courtroom drama, to get closure. And then I think you should check out Richard Gere in a much more satisfying role, as Sir Lancelot in First Knight, with Sean Connery. It'll flush the bad taste of Primal Fear right out of your system. Oh and last but not least, the girl who played Richard Gere's assistant was the mom in the movie Liar, Liar - pretty much the funniest movie ever filmed

Blake Evans

Loved this reaction. Also I'm a glutton for punishment, so I really like that it doesn't end the way you think it should. Its more realistic and not predictable. It goes to show that Martin is an egomaniac and narcissist that is willing to win at all costs. So much so that he keeps telling Aaron that he doesn't care if he's guilty or innocent. And that's why the final shot is so powerful. If you want to continue with the courtroom dramas The Rainmaker is a great to end on, however I would recommend The Exorcism of Emily Rose (2006) during October. It also has Laura Linney in a courtroom drama with added bits of horror thrown in.

Luke Godfrey

If it wasn't for this channel I don't think I would have ever watched this movie, and that would have been a real shame given how excellent it was. I caught on just before the big reveal, but what a twist ending that was. Amazing performance by Edward Norton.

Luke Godfrey

If you're looking for a court room drama with a less frustrating ending I recommend Runway Jury too. I've seen it many times and it never gets old!

Terry Yelmene

T-W-I-S-T-E-D S-H-O-C-K-E-R This story wasn't as clever as 'The Usual Suspects', but it had at least as many twists and deceptions. They got me too Cassie, ...great reaction as always!

zynjams

the Rainmaker should be the next court room movie please

zynjams

for a sports movie.. Secretariat, for a sports comedy movie...Let it Ride starring Richard Dreyfus about horse race gambling

Juley

The Pelican Brief and Rainmaker are both worth watching.

Juley
>>115738715

Or you could watch the film that made him a sex symbol movie star — American Gigolo (1980). Now that’s the Richard Gere you have to see! No silver fox there. It took me forever to get used to him with grey hair. He’s done so many great films over the years. You should have a Richard Gere week! Chicago (2002) The Jackal (1987) Unfaithful (2002) American Gigolo (1980) Intersection (1994) The Mothman Prophecies (2002) And for the romantic in you, Cassie — Shall We Dance (2004) Officer and a Gentleman (1982) Breathless (1983)

Larry Darrell
>>115719224

Rainmaker is in the Courtroom. The Pelican Brief is an Investigative Thriller, no courtroom. Both Great. I say She can decide.

Shawn Kildal

You would have loved, without any doubt, The Rainmaker. It is so good.

Larry Darrell
>>115733127

The Three Musketeers (1973) and The Four Musketeers (1974) were actually shot at the same time and all the actors thought they were making one movie, but it was decided later to split them up into two films. This resulted in a Lawsuit. So, they are practically One Film. In that case, I suggest, The Three Musketeers (1993) be added. I know it’s not the best, but I’ve always enjoyed that one. It Has a Very Fun Cast. And pairing it with The Man in the Iron Mask (1998), is like having the younger fun cast age into a more respectable older cast, that is still Fun.

Shawn Kildal

A pre-Titanic Leonardo DiCaprio turned down the role Aaron Stampler. I think Edward Norton might have been the only actor who could have pulled off that character as successfully as he did.

Larry Darrell
>>115735656

I would love for Cassie to see Vanishing Point (1971), but I don’t know if she’s ready for it or not. I would also like for her to see it before she watches Death Proof (2007), but that probably won’t happen.

Shawn Kildal
>>115733127

Cassie loves Gene Hackman and hasn't seen Hoosiers. She also loves Kurt Russell and hasn't seen Miracle. Not sure about the Musketeers movies but love the idea of the best of the 60's and 70's. She is fixing to watch Dog Day Afternoon btw. It was the winner of the 1975 Oscar poll.

Gábor Árki
>>115733127

@Larry: I know, and it also gave the Salkind's the idea to do the same with Superman, shooting 2 movies at the same time. I do also enjoy the 1993 version of THE THREE MUSKETEERS.

silverarrow06

"The Raimaker" is such a fantastic movie...🤩

Shawn Kildal

Shaughnessy is played by John Mahoney known best as Frasier's dad. Cassie might also recognize from The American President, Say Anything and In The Line of Fire with Clint Eastwood.

Larry Darrell

There is a Courtroom Thriller movie, Criminal Law (1988). It could almost be a sequel to this film, since it’s two main characters in each film are similar. It is directed by Martin Campbell (Goldeneye, Casino Royale), and it stars Kevin Bacon and Gary Oldman. I won’t mention who plays who. It might surprise you. Interesting Connections this week… Erin Brockovich and Philadelphia had an actor connection… Tracey Walter. Philadelphia and Primal Fear have an Oscar/Character connection. Joanne Woodward, who played Andrew Beckett’s mother in Philadelphia, won an Oscar in 1958 for The Three Faces of Eve (1957). Edward Norton was nominated for an Oscar in 1997, but didn’t win, for Primal Fear (1996). Can you guess from the title of Joanne Woodward’s film, what their two Oscar nominated roles have (or appear to have) in common?

Joe D. MacGuffinstuff

Well two out of three of Cassie's Witness Week Trilogy movies saw justice done, that damn Edward Norton though, he fooled us all. The Rainmaker would be a great reaction too, I love that one, also The Firm and Runaway Jury, The Lincoln Lawyer is great too. These courtroom dramas are always a fun watch, they really pull you into the story. The Devil's Advocate isn't quite the same, not exactly a courtroom drama, but this movie in particular just kind of reminded me of it.

Stick Figure Studios
>>115718987

I actually think he gives a great understated performance here. Not as flashy and sensational as Norton's, but no less compelling or effective. He's the anchor that makes it all work, the Tom Cruise to Norton's "Rain Man."

Stick Figure Studios
>>115733127

As much as I love the idea of a MUSKETEERS week, my fear is that the 70s Richard Lester films will be sidelined in favor of like the Disney Keifer Sutherland version and/or the recent one with Milla Jovovich. Ugh.

Stick Figure Studios

How about another "Caper Week?" You love movies where's there a plan involving a heist/con job. You could watch films like SNEAKERS, TO CATCH A THIEF and DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS.

Gideon James

Cassie, thanks for all the solo content lately. Love it! Just like old times.

Björn Karlsson
>>115727358

Das boot is ranked around 550-580. The one I mentioned is on top 240-ish 🙂 But Das boot is a must see as well 🙂 Hopefully when it's time for war movies 🙂

Zachary K. (Verified Swiftie)

People come up with some great ideas on here. To Catch A Thief is A+++ movie. Equalizer 2 eventually because I think she will like it better than the first.

Robert da Spruce

I thought I had seen this before. I was wrong. First time watch for me as well. I enjoyed your reaction Cassie! I agree with you. While the acting was excellent, the ending wasn’t very satisfying. I know there isn’t always a happy ending. And this film was a commentary on the legal system. But too many things were left unresolved for my tastes. If it was just Edward Norton beating the system. Ok. But all the other sub plots were left unresolved as well. Leaving me kind of bleh. I wouldn’t mind seeing you react to one more courtroom film. I believe you said The Rainmaker came in 4th?

AdrianF

You should watch Spotlight if you haven't already seen it.

Mike LL
>>115731234

I was very impressed when I went to the theater and saw Congo. Very fun film.

Mike LL
>>115733127

Stick Figure Studios, you may be glad to know that the 2011 3 MUSKETEERS is marked on Cassie's Letterbxd as having been seen, which spoiled MY idea of 3 Musketeers week of THE THREE MUSKETEERS of 1973, 1993 and 2011.

Billy Dancel

Welcome to the duped club. It's likely this has been mentioned but Tommy, Andre Braugher, you met him in Glory as Thomas.

BRIAN NICHOLS

Haven't seen this in years, but this time around, I noticed part of the reason why the ending is so unsatisfying. If victim Aaron is actually bad boy Aaron, the rest of the movie doesn't make any sense. Why was bad boy Aaron on the streets of Chicago? Why did he bother to go in with the Archbishop? Why did he allow the bishop to use him? And if not the victim, what motive for the murder? He was in victim Aaron's character immediately after the murder, but if the whole point of the ruse was to dupe the prosecution, why not make Roy known before the trial got underway? Bad boy Aaron seems to be too smart to get caught but made not attempt at concealment, yet he seemed surprised that he did get caught at the end of the movie. Am I missing something that ties this together?

Carol_White
>>115811251

You're not wrong, it's a loosey-goosey movie. I too hadn't seen it in a long time, but I think the thing that ties it together is the quotation from Hawthorne, and I think what they're trying to do is use the Aaron/Roy two-faced character as a metaphor for the larger themes of corruption explored in the movie. He's not the only one with a public and a private face. Then once they came up with this metaphor they couldn't figure out how to write a plot around it.

Jyn Jilly
>>115811251

These are great questions. I personally think even though bad boy Aaron is cold and calculating now, he was still a victim of abuse by the Archbishop. I don't think he participated in those videos willingly. And so from that he developed into the current evil Aaron. Because I agree I don't know why Aaron would have killed Archbishop so brutally if he was always so smart and capable.

BRIAN NICHOLS
>>115811251

Yeah. Although, one thing I kind of liked I didn't catch the first time around was the way Aaron/Roy destroyed Martin's worldview that people are generally good; that there is clearly true evil in the world. I'm assuming the director ended with no resolution and him staring off into nothing to symbolize his newfound uncertainty of the world. Idk.

Grad

Twilight Zone theme? Let the patrons select a handful of the best episodes.

WastedPo
>>115811251

You're right. I still think it's a good movie, but it's the kind of movie where when you think about it, some of it falls apart. One issue is that part of what makes Aaron such an evil mastermind is that he killed the bishop. However, after we find out the true nature of the bishop, the evilness of Aaron kind of gets a downgrade. I honestly think that's why they threw in that Aaron also killed his girlfriend, as sort of a Hail Mary victim that the audience can 100% feel sorry for.

granny_goodness
>>115815898

Twilight Zone is an amazing show that still holds up very well, though I'd also suggest something like Tales From The Crypt if we're doing horror shows.

Jason Chirevas

The best thing I can say about PRIMAL FEAR is it was the movie I saw on my first date with my wife and we’ve been married 24 years, together for 27.

Zachary K. (Verified Swiftie)

If you thought this was insane. You should try Wild Things (1998) Never Campbell, Kevin Bacon, Bill Murray, HOLY SMOKES, did that movie trick my friends and I. All I will say is watch it till the absolute end. It is a courtroom drama

JC762

It’s time for Split

John Cranberry

This has to be one of my favourite reactions from Cassie. I have seen this film many times, and I was so invested in Cassie's reaction. Don't worry Cassie, we all were duped. Love you. Can't wait for Platoon and Red Dawn.

Jacob King

Basically signed up for the Patreon because I knew this one would get you. Primal Fear is a classic last minute twist movie. This movie is interesting in the history of the church sex abuse scandal because it comes out at a time when everyone knew there were issues but it wasn’t understood as this one huge global issue. If you watch Spotlight, things the reporters are shocked to find out in the year 2000 are laid out matter of fact style in this fictional movie. The twist where Aaron is the villain doesn’t really hit the same way now because we very clearly understand that the bishop and O’Shaughnessy are real world monsters which trumps movie villains. Another courtroom drama that came out the same year and tackles similar issues is Sleepers. It has the best cast (Brad Pitt, Dustin Hoffman, Kevin Bacon, Robert DeNiro and more) it is also has one of the most satisfying endings (after a heartbreaking middle) of any movie ever.

Eddie Perkins

If nothing else, you must admit Edward Norton is a great actor. Cassie was feeling so sorry for "Poor Aaron." I was LMAO; Edward Norton played a similar character in The Score (2001). She needs to do a Horror Poll, a Western Poll, a Stephen King Poll, a Crime Drama Poll, a Drama/Romance Poll, a Comedy Poll Etc.

Eddie Perkins
>>116082569

It has a great cast and a true story, so they say, but the same thing was said about Fargo. Whether it's true or not, they both are great movies.

Hal451

Does anyone else ever Primal Fear mixed up with Cape Fear? I kept waiting for Robert De Niro to show up... Hahaha

Gene Crossin

Edward Norton should of won an oscar for this

Ryan Towell

Ed Norton is just a fantastic actor and this was kinda the one that put him on the map. Pretty much all the movies based off of Grisham books are great, Rainmaker ( Matt Damon, Danny Devito, Claire Danes, Virginia Madsen), The Client Susan Sarandon, Tommy Le Jones, Anthony Edwards), The Chamber ( Chris O'Donnell, Gene Hackman) And of course the Pelican Brief ( Julia Roberts and Denzel. All are a must see. Also since you like Richard Gere you have to watch: An Officer and a Gentleman, Sommersby, and the Double at least those three

Ryan Towell
>>118013765

Now that it's over I can't help but laugh, through the entire film you're so sorry for poor Aaron.. As he movie went on I kept thinking "Oh poor Cassie, she's going to be so hurt, betrayed and upset when she finds out Edward Nortons character played everyone".. ha

Kit Taylor

Great reaction! Don't feel bad, this performance by Edward Norton was INSANELY good. He got nominated for an Oscar and should have won. All of us that had seen it before though definitely felt a little bad for you knowing how much of a twist was in store at the end. Good stuff as always! Highly recommend Se7ven (Brad Pitt, Morgan Freeman) to react to...
