Hey friends, aren't you glad we live in a world where there are Octobers!

Hope you had a wonderful weekend. We went to the mountains on Sunday and I felt like a victorian feeble, ailing child being brought to the sea to be healed. The mountain air felt SO good. I know that sounds corny but being up there surrounded by actual fall GORGEOUSNESS was good for the soul.  I am finally feeling much better, and thankfully can now laugh without a coughing fit-just in time for all the funny, lighthearted movies i'll be watching this month ;)

I made a mistake with the poll yesterday, I meant to end it tomorrow (Wednesday) but I picked next Wednesday, that has been fixed, so one day left to VOTE!

We are going to have a package party live this month on 10/14-thats kinda SOON! Save the DATE!

Coming up this month we have Tucker and Dale, Identity, Scream and a few surprises, there will be another poll or two coming as well!

Tell me something you are excited about this month!

Wait are you watch the thing 1 or the thing prequel

ArsTropica

Da Mummmy! This one has been at the top of the requests list for a while.

Viet Ta

Can't wait for the mummy! And she'll be peer pressured into the second as well I'm sure!

Omar

I’m excited that there are 5 Taco Tuesdays this month. Also, the Thing will be epic 👍🏽

Wes

Yassss! I’ve been waiting for The Thing since your first Halloween reactions. Although the hype might be overblown now 😂

Brian O'Grady

Cassie, you ARE watching the 1982 John Carpenter's "Thing" right?

aarswft

I can't wait for the mummy. The thrill of someone having not seen it before. Awesome.

Mike LL

Well the excitement for this week is off the charts. Two top ten Popcorn request app movies. I can't wait for either! What's new this month? Watching everyone else go gaga for Halloween decorations. It is funny. And pumpkin spice everything wherever you go. Weird.

Cody Nelson

I am SO EXCITED for you to watch the Mummy! It's one of my favorite movies and I think you'll really like it! I also highly recommend the sequel The Mummy Returns. It has the same writer/director(Stephen Sommers). the 3rd one is terrible though.

Kat Farlowe

Most excited about in October? It is our yearly trip to Florida for the GA/FL football game. We rent a condo and have a week long tailgate! Plus BDay month, fall colors, and fairs. And of course Halloween! I might not be able to watch along for all the scary movies (I am a chicken), but have fun!

brooke atkins

Well October is my birthday month so I’m excited for that. Not excited to older but thankful to be here and to get to spend a fun night with my girlfriends. I was suppose to be a Halloween baby but came 2 days early lol This is the my favorite time of year and being a horror lover I have waited 11 months for you to watch some of these movies. Glad you are feeling better Cassie and I can’t tell you how excited I am for you to dive into the scream franchise. I actually think you will like it. Lots of surprises. Please tell me you are going haunting of hill house? Please? It would be a crime to miss that great miniseries. It’s way more emotional and heartfelt than it is scary. And not gory at all. Should be a fun month for me at least 😋You’ve made some great picks so far. Hope everyone has a great week. Gotta get back to work. 🎃🍁

Nick Ireland

Yay for Scream! I've been waiting (hoping) patiently for your reaction to this.

Dave

It is so good to hear that you are feeling better. Looks like it will be an interesting month, looking forward to all of it, especially The Mummy and the surprises you have in store for us. I am excited for baked caramel apples and hayrides, getting the sweaters and comforters out, and the smell of a campfire or two. And very excited for new things at the end of the month and for new and exciting things here with the PiB crew.

Choof

So excited for The Thing and The Mummy. The Thing is great, practical effect horror and suspense and The Mummy feels like a spiritual successor to Indiana Jones thought not quite Indy level its still really fun.

nick bell

QUITE. A. WEEK. I'm genuinely excited for your THING reaction. I'm not a big horror movie fan. Never have been. But I absolutely love this movie for some reason. The characters? Kurt? The vibe? All those things? I dunno...but I've always loved this movie. Hope you, at the very least, appreciate it.

Alex Gorell

I’m exited to watch the mummy with you. Fun movie. Glad to hear you are feeling better Cassie.

Brian McGovern

Tucker and Dale? Been seeing reactions for this and it looks hilarious. Other than the gore factor, that is one I think Carly would love. Has Alan Tudyk in it as well (Wash from the sci fi show you watched. My mind draws a blank on the name. Serenity ai think was the movie)

kaiielle

Glad you're feeling better! Being in the mountains is always good for the soul. I'm really looking forward to The Mummy reaction!

Shehab Dawoud

Meh. Wish John Wick would’ve been done either before or after October as it’s taking a spot from a more fitting movie. The Thing is a classic, I love John Carpenter, but for some reason it never really moved me like it should’ve🤷🏻‍♂️ I also don’t really associate it with Halloween. Definitely excited about The Mummy. Although it’s not horror, we’ll allow it because it’s so good and fun. Also definitely stoked about SCREAM. Minor detail that you’ve been told before, but the opening of Scream reveals a big spoiler about Friday The 13th. So you might as well knock out another classic and watch Friday The 13th first. Apart from the general excitement about my favorite month, I’m looking forward to taking a trip to Verona, Italy with my U12 Fútbol team to play an international tournament! Unfortunately, I’ll probably miss the live as it’s a 17 hour bus ride on that day😬

Jeffrey Schmidbauer

Fresh air does the soul (and lungs) good. I'm so happy you've recovered. What are we up to in October? Oh, the usual. Halloween decorations and stockpiling candy for the neighborhood Rugrats. In November we journey to London for a vacation. It has gradually become a home away from home.

Jeffrey Schmidbauer

Are we watching Thing 1 or Thing 2? (said the Cat in the Hat)

Julian San

90% of the time when a reactor is told that the consensus opinion about something is bad, they end up thinking it's fine. I'm sure the Thing 2011 is not exception.

Jeffery Parks

Please add "Identity" to your list of potentials. Not a horror movie, but a very good thriller.

Stick Figure Studios

Some great movies coming up. THE THING is a sci-fi horror masterpiece from Master filmmaker John Carpenter (HALLOWEEN). Don't know whether you'll like it or not (I doubt it), but it's definitely worth seeing. THE MUMMY will be a ton of fun. Yes, it's a remake of a classic Universal monster movie, but it's more of a high-spirited and goofy action-adventure in the spirit of Indiana Jones... and it has Brendan Fraser in it no less! Of all the upcoming films, this one is the most "Carly safe." I love DALE & TUCKER VS. EVIL. It's more like ZOMBIELAND in that it's a clever horror-comedy satire. I think you'll ultimately enjoy it too. And speaking of horror satires, pleased to see you're finally doing the iconic SCREAM. It's a hugely significant entry into the genre. Wes Craven (the man responsible for Freddy Krueger) reinvigorated horror in the 90s in an impactful self-aware way with that intelligent, scary and often funny horror classic. IDENTITY should be fun too. From director James Mangold (3:10 TO YUMA and FORD V. FERRARI) comes a creepy, atmospheric suspense-thriller mystery with some neat surprises that'll keep you guessing. I saw it in the theater and I've always liked it. Carly might even be able to join you for that one too. Anyway, definitely going to be an eventful next couple of weeks. Looking forward to it. :-)

Tringard

I'm dreading/looking forward to The Thing. I've heard so many good things but have managed to put it off because of my dislike for most horror. I'll accept watching it with you though and be right there with you for whatever that movie offers in scares

Steve Holton

Jeffery you are in luck! In the text of this post Cassie states that she will be watching Identity this month.

Dean Holt

Yes so happy you’re going to watch Tucker & Dale, Identity is also a underrated gem. Not watched the Mummy in a while so really looking forward to rewatching it. Very interested to know what surprises you have lined up but it’s looking like a great month of movies on your Patreon. But we will definitely forgive you if you want to watch a few Romcoms at the star of November 😂, a few I’d recommend if you haven’t seen them is Cocktail, Doc Hollywood, Pretty Woman, Something’s Gotta Give, Blind Date (1987) and Bird on a Wire.

G

Cassie, please watch The Thing (1982), not the 2011 prequel. The poster that Ben used for the Patreon Uploads is The Thing (2011).

Jason Rios

You skipped Lost Boys last year. What about this year?

Walter

Cassie, don't watch The Thing. But since you're going to, definitely watch the 1982 classic. I'm so sorry. But this should be hilarious...for us, you will definitely not be amused.

Stranger2Reality

That poster is from the 2011 movie, which is not the one everyone wants her to watch. Cassie, please watch the 1982 version!

Robin Craft

Looking forward to The Mummy reaction with Carly. This film is such an adventurous ride. Dare I say Raiders of the Lost Ark- esque? Developed a crush on Rachel Weiz after watching. Edit: Just watched the video of your road trip on IG and the fall colors are absolutely gorgeous. One of many reasons why fall 🍂🍁 is my favorite season.

William Bryan

Cassie, do you like scary movies? What's your favorite scary movie? You have to have a favorite. What comes to mind?

Stranger2Reality

That poster is from the 2011 movie, not the 1982 version. Hopefully she just used the wrong image.

William Bryan

The first ten minutes of Scream will stay with you forever.

Stranger2Reality

Agreed completely. It will be a total waste if she watches the wrong version. Everyone has been wanting her to watch the 1982 film, not that forgettable 2011 one.

Steve Holton

Glad you are on the mend! Not sure who's scarier. The Mummy, The Thing, or The Boogeyman? 👻 Most looking forward to our annual Halloween block party. We moved our parents to the neighborhood this month and it will be great way to introduce them to everyone. 🎃

Pickupthepieces76

I'm excited about my trip to Rome this month, which is actually happening right now. Today I visited, amongst a lot of other things, the Spanish steps, featured in Roman Holiday. No fall here yet. It's 30C/86F with unrelenting sun. And amazing food.

Bill Maurer

The Thing is happening !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There are several scenes that will make her jump off her sheets. Looking forward to this as much as her watching "The Searchers" !! (If that EVER happens).

Bill Maurer

I think the original "Thing from Another World" should be on her list. Classic Sci Fi film

Gábor Árki

I can't wait to watch THE THING reaction (the 1982 version, of course). It's not something I ever asked or pushed for, but I'm really curious about that reaction. I don't like horror movies much, they are actually my least favorite genre, but THE THING is my favorite horror movie. Also looking forward to THE MUMMY. I really enjoy the first movie and I hope it would make for a great, fun reaction. I believe even Carly would enjoy it. Another movie I'm super excited for is TUCKER & DALE VS EVIL. It's one of the best horror comedies on my list. It's hilarious and clever, but also very gory, so it might not be Carly's cup of tea. What else I'm excited about? Maybe we'll be getting some cooler weather and colorful leaves this month. It's been so hot and sunny here, almost 30°C every day. This was the warmest September in history for our country, according to the weather reports. I can't wait for some crisp autumn air and cozy sweaters. Typically, September used to be rainy followed by an Indian summer in early October (or "summer of old/crone women" how it's called here).

Matt Rose

I am so utterly and completely primed for both THE THING and THE MUMMY.

AdrianF

Yes yes yes> The OG Mummy is great, The Thing is awesome and JW4 is... good. Preferred the first three of 'em but this is a great week.

AdrianF

Ooh, and Tucker and Dale, I bought for another reactor but never got around to it, and embarrassingly I have never watched the entirety of OG Scream. What a month!

JONATHAN REDFERN WILLIAMS

One thing I'm excited for this October, is something I have done every Halloween for as long as I can remember. Every Halloween night I watch the classic BBC Halloween drama GHOSTWATCH (1992), a brilliantly spooky, creepy masterpiece of horror that I just love to watch every Halloween!

Matt Rose

JW4 is great. The final 45 minutes of the film is some of the best action filmmaking I've ever seen. All that said, the film itself is too long overall. There's a great 2 hour film in there somewhere...

jerome kent

I was about to say the same thing, I hope she's watching the 1982 original and not that Godawful CGI "prequel ".

JL_83

saw The Mummy in the theater back in 1999, so definitely looking forward to the reaction

Cole Jennett

I’m excited about Thanksgiving this weekend, and NHL starting up next week to complement NFL. P.S. Don’t forget to wear your Mummy shirts😉

Wu Sha Ling

Lots of things to see, but be sure to try arancini and a slice of patate pizza. you won't regret it. Noone believes me that patate pizza is a common dish over there

Chris Arthur

You are going to love The Mummy!

christopher b swanson

when u post lists to vote for or upcoming, I would love if you annpunced which have Carly and if we can vote for specific Carly and you movies and not just movies in general..............i enjoy the channel but the banter and pair of you make any movie better...................

Dylan Harris

The mummy is a terrific film, and can't wait for scream

Just Plain Bob

Cassie’s watching The Thing, Tucker & Dale vs Evil and Scream this Halloween season!!! If I were a dog, I’d be running in circles full speed while furiously wagging my tail. This is gonna be epic. The only way it could be better was if she’d also react to The ‘Burbs (which I think she’d love, btw). Yay Halloween!!! PS: I really like the idea of mentioning which reactions will include Carly in her weekly Upcoming post.

Audrey

You are going to love the mummy! Not sure if Cassie is going to like Tucker and Dale, but I love it. Love the dark comedy! I was obsessed with Scream. Still know Every line.

Just Plain Bob

@Bill Maurer I agree 100% about “The Thing From Another World.” Although I prefer Carpenter’s take on “Who Goes There?”, The Thing From Another World is a fantastic movie in its own right. I’d also like to see a reaction to the original (1963) The Haunting, my personal favorite haunted house movie.

Just Plain Bob

As much as I LOVE the 1982 John Carpenter movie, that’s how much I HATE the 2011 remake/prequel.

LDC7080

The mummy is a great movie , Stella cast. Hope it leads you to the mummy returns 🤞

Wesley White

Quite the good line-up I'm looking forward to! Shame on me, I've never seen a single one of the John Wick films, even though I've seen your YT edits of them lol! I cannot believe you've watched THE THING, you must be braver than me because I cannot bring myself to watch it, not that I'm scared of it, I've seen scenes and it just weirds me out! The one thing I'm excited for the most is seeing your reaction to THE MUMMY '99, I hope you got my package with the matching t-shirts for you and Carly, I love that movie! CLUE, I know the game, never played it, and I know the movie, never seen it lol! Really enjoyed your ZOMBIELAND reaction, that was great! ZODIAC, never seen it, yet I know what it's about! TUCKER & DALE VS EVIL, never seen it but know of it, never even heard of IDENTITY, and SCREAM that's a classic! I'm so happy to hear you're feeling better Cassie, I totally get it when you say "the mountain air felt SO good" I get it! I don't think I'll be able to make it for the Live Package Party on 10/14, I work that day😭 but I might try and stop by during like a break or something lol! Like I told you during your Indy 4 premiere, I already got a jump start on early Christmas shopping for you and Carly, so when I send them out to you, that will be a livestream I will not miss lol! Hope you have great day Cassie, love and support always, I'm really excited for your reaction to THE MUMMY, glad you're feeling better, [virtual hug] God bless you, Carly, and your family! And as always [snaps fingers & winks] stay classy Cassie🥰😁😉😇🙏👍🎃🌹

Benjamin Gerrald

Wow I hope you know what you are in for with the Thing.

sarCC

I'm really excited for all these watchalongs! Also, I get to see U2 in that Vegas Sphere thing in 2 days! Other than that, looking forward to sharing horror movies with friends and family. Hope you make it through October OK(and that Aracnophobia wins!)

brooke atkins

Agreed! I was crushed when she didn’t do that one last October. Still hoping for what lies beneath but I think someone ruined the ending for Cassie 🤬🤬

Mike LL

A little bird told me it will be in one those polls she mentioned.

Zane From Canada

Twice! Congrats! I placed 4th in the last trivia game. You beat me by just 15 points. It was close. 👍😁 It's my first time placing in the Top 5, so I'm unfamiliar with the time and process. I still haven't received word, email, or notification. Does it usually take a while for the winners to receive their winnings?

Choof

I took 3rd and got my gift card already. Did you email them like directed to let them know you finished top 5? If so it will happen eventually but maybe follow up in a week or so. If you didn't email them to let them know you're one of the winners you need to do that first.

JC762

Looking to be an EPIC month of movie picks Cassie! Great job!

BJ Stephens

Oh wow Identity! I love that movie!!! It doesn't get nearly enough recognition or appreciation!

Zane From Canada

It's okay, now. Cassie reached out to me on the 29th. The email got hidden and I just saw it for the first time now. 😖🤭🙄🤦‍♂️ Thanks for the info. Looking forward to next time. 😁

Odd Thomas

Scream and Identity are GREAT films

JONATHAN REDFERN WILLIAMS

I now remember I first watched it on a DVD at university. I was left very, very shaken and creeped out by the end. I've watched it once a year on Halloween night ever since!

Mike Lemon

WARNING- Tucker and Dale has face licking!

Patrick Flanagan

[pushes glasses up] ACK-shully, the 1972 Spanish film HORROR EXPRESS is also an adaptation of the same story so '82 and '11 would be Thing 3 and Thing 4

Mike Lemon

Something I'm excited about this month- it was Lord Toby Sniffington III's (Basset Hound) birthday on the first. He's the big 0-8.

BRT

The Thing is scary but it's a really GOOD film.

Jeffrey Schmidbauer

I visited Rome back in the 90s. Wonderful city. Received a blessing from Pope John Paul II and then went inside St. Peters and the Sistine Chapel....I stumbled upon the Spanish Steps quite by accident. I later come to find out the poet John Keats lived in an apartment just off the Steps. He was there on the advice of a friend to relieve his tuberculosis. Alas, it was too little too late. Keats is now buried in a Rome cemetery. He's one of my favorite poets.

Pickupthepieces76

I actually noticed a Keats museum near the bottom of the steps. Don't know if that was there when you were there. I didn't visit it though.

Stephen Malloy

Considering some of the movies Cassie watched last October, The Thing will be no problem for her, just wait and see.

Jeffery Parks

I'm totally blown away by how many really good movies there have been through the decades. I don't think I would have fully appreciated that if I hadn't started watching movie reactions.

Tim Raths

I think what Mike was talking about was the spoiler of the original Friday the 13th movie in the opening scene of Scream.

Mike Lemon

The first 10 minutes of Scream is a spoiler for Friday the 13th. That's what I was talking about.

Johnny

The picture you used for The Thing is from the 2011 version. Please tell me you're going to watch the 1982 version..

David

Please watch the 1982 version

James1035

I’m excited that hockey will be back and my birthday is this month too.

Bret

Anyone else wish Friday the 13th is watched before Scream?

Rick Williams

Cassie which version of, The Thing are you watching? The picture you have is for the 2011 version. The 1982 John Carpenter version with Kurt Russell is the better version.

Mike Lemon

People, read the other comments. edit- The "Thing" question has been asked at least 9 times.

Barry Justice

Cassie's Halloween is really going to be great this year: The Mummy. The Thing and Dale and Tucker are all great!

Tim Raths

October is off to a great start so far. The Twins playoff losing streak is finally over!

Zachary K. (Verified Swiftie)

I for one believe you should do a slasher poll with Friday 13th (1980), Scream (1997), Wolf Creek (2005) Suspiria (1977) The Strangers (2008) Black Christmas (1974)

Philip Alan

BOO! Scary month is upon us!

Richard Maurer

What are you doing Cassie? Watching a great movie that some people keep trying to convince you is worse than it really is.

Paul Rich

I avoid slasher movies with very few exceptions. I suppose "The Shining" would quaify with "Here's Johnny!" Few under the age of 40 would even know that refers to talk show host Johnny Carson. I do like horror movie spoofs i.e. Scary Movie series.

Stan the Man

The Mummy is so good. I love that movie

rakesh

Identity, I've watched but can't remember a thing about it, great cast though. The Mummy is a great adventure film. Brendan Frasier at his peak. Cassie. I hope after this you'll try and put some time aside to watch his Oscar winning performance in The Whale later in the coming months. I was the first to pick it in the PIB database, I don't think many others have, but it's such a great story and an amazing return to the top after all that he went through.

Mike LL

That is what I have thought ever since last Scary but Not Too Scary season.

Rick Moreno

I’m excited for some of my own movie watching this month. Watching some Universal Monsters classics (including the original Mummy!). Looking forward to your reaction to the Mummy, that was always a fave of mine for blending action, horror, and not taking itself too seriously!

Bryan Erickson

Amen brother. Thank god for Royce, and that play by Correa. Now let’s get the Vikes on track. Skol!

David

You cant see the other comments! There are only 6 comments shown on my screen. So I would need to scrolls down 20-30 times to read all 100+ comments.

Larry Darrell

Click “Load more comments” until all comments are showing BEFORE clicking any of the “Load replies.” Or else the “Load more comments” button goes away and you have to refresh window. Some new thing on Patreon. Don’t know why they can’t leave well enough alone.

David Collins

OMG! Christmas in October, here comes The Mummy!! I think she's going to love it! I really, really hope Carly is going to watch it too. It's totally something she'll appreciate too. Way less stressful/scary than Zodiac was. By a LOT.

Richard Maurer

Interesting. I can no longer see Stick Figure Studio's comments. Am I being blocked?

Luke Godfrey

Really looking forward to the Scream reaction this month. Never thought it make the cut on this channel. Fingers crossed Cassie likes it and watches all 6. Would be fun if Carly watched too. 🤞🏻🍿

Brian McGovern

I am looking forward to lots of black and white slo-mo replays of Cassie tossing lip balm or blankets in the air. Lots of "friggs" or "frick".

Richard Maurer

I wonder if he can still see mine? That would be BS if he can because he could comment on my posts without me knowing it.

Richard Maurer

I thought about giving it a rest when it comes to asking for Classic Horror and Asian Martial Arts polls. Then I thought Naaaaah.

Richard Maurer

We've been having a discussion on the merits of protecting Cassie (him) vs letting her watch challenging movies (me). While it started to get a little heated I didn't think it was that bad. But the last exchange we had he claimed I was disparaging patrons and I pointed out to him that saying that the people who vote for these movies just want to hurt Cassie (which he has said on a number of occasions) was actually disparaging, and that he should go look in a mirror. I really don't think it was that harsh, but maybe it bothered him more than I intended.

Mike Lemon

Apparently you can block people. You have to click their name, then on that page is the block option. I really hate that that is an option.

Carswell

The Thing!!!! Can't wait

Carswell

No kidding around, she will love The Mummy. Comedy-Adventure, Horror-Lite, with a dash of romance

Richard Maurer

Yeah, that kinda sucks. I mean if someone actually gets out of line you've always been able to report them. Being able to block someone on a whim seems pretty unnecessary. I promise I will never block anyone here. Although I would block someone who blocked me on principal, but if you have to click on their name to block them I don't see how that's possible.

Michael Gilbrook

I hope Cassie does NOT watch "The Fly (1986)." If there is a "The Fly" to be watched, it should be the 1958 version.

Richard Maurer

That's not the movie people voted for. I have no problem with the 58 version but it needs to win a poll on it's own. In fact it's one of many films I recommended for the classic horror poll I've been asking Cassie to do. And seeing as how the poll was so close I do think it would be wrong not to watch the 86 version. I know for me, I doubt if I'll even bother watching the YT version of Arachnophobia (and not because I fear spiders, if you couldn't tell from my avatar), but I'd be there for the full reaction to The Fly. Just because some don't like this version of The Fly doesn't change the fact many do.

Richard Maurer

Why even bother, if you put Scream on that poll you know it will win. Even though every other film in that poll is a much better film.

Rainbow Dash

Looking forward to a watch along of The Thing! Still love those crazy special effects!
