Love ya Cassie but I'll pass on this one. I'm not into Marvel at all.

Christopher W

This was a great movie. A breath of fresh air compared to the other marvel stuff.

Cute truth. Kids are so used to animation being incredibly realistic. While visiting a baby animal zoo; a four-year-old recently walked up to a baby pony and he started to talk to the pony expecting it to talk back. And not understanding why it did not.

100% Animation & Cartoons can have so much depth and touch on some very sensitive topics. I remember growing up watching the 90s Batman: Animated Series set in the DCAU (DC Animated Universe) and the show touched on drugs, Alcohol abuse, depression, and even conditions like hypoplasia and PTSD to name a few. The live action movies never touch on the Trauma of Bruce Wayne or most characters like the Animated Shows did. The episode 'Perchance to Dream' is a highlight of the trauma of Bruce and a masterpiece of storytelling, acting, and animation. It's even the favourite episode of the late Kevin Conroy the iconic voice of Batman. A show like Static Shock (Static also Inspired Miles Morales as well) set in the DCAU follows a young black teenager who becomes a Superhero after being exposured to police mutagen gas during a gang fight that kills alot of civilians. It dealt with gun violence, discrimination, racial profiling and racism. All meant to be informative for child's to teenagers and teach them something about life. Marvel achieved this as well with the 90s X-Men: Animated Series. This focused on the discrimination against Mutants who were an allegory for the civil rights in the 1960s and later during the 1980s the LGBTQ community and Aids both highlighted in a kids cartoon but around Mutants while also highlighting the evils of the past. This was all highlighted in the comics as well such as the legacy virus that only targeted Mutants a parallel to the Aids virus in the 1980s. All of this aimed towards kids and teenagers to educate and inspire.

Oh, oh , oh... You like going to animated movies? You know, The Last Unicorn (1982) is an excellent animated movie that features Jeff Bridges (Kevin Flynn in Tron), Christopher Lee (Saruman in Lord of the Rings), Brother Theodore (Burbs), Angela Lansbury (Mrs. Potts in Beauty and the Beast), Alan Arkin (Chief in Get Smart), and others I don't know if you have seen or not.

Neill Shaughness

The idea that animation is supposed to be children's entertainment is a mostly American cultural idea. In most of the world, more adult oriented animation is much more common.

If you want a taste of what some of us grew up with, check out the 1977 Spider-Man movie (TV movie that served as the pilot for The Amazing Spider-Man show).

I bet almost everyone, OK maybe 1/3, around my age instantly recognizes even just a note or two from the Batman TAS and X-Men themes and remembers a dozen favorite episodes.

What the hey?! Why did you stop in the middle!?

Come on, kid, this is the Real World. It's a *baby* pony, it hasn't learned to talk yet! Sheesh. :-)

In case you're not aware and this makes a difference, these animated Spider-Man movies are not part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. People who have been ... ambivalent about the standard Marvel fare have praised these ones. Otherwise, see you in the next reaction. :-)

41:19 "Who is this guy?" The Ben Reilly SM, voiced by Andy Samberg. 46:50 "The guy with the voice of the guy?" ??? Do you mean Spider Noir, voiced by Nicolas Cage? (I am now amusing myself imagining Nicolas Cage replacing James Spader in some of his roles. :-) )

That was him? Even after watching a couple scenes of Sound of Music just now, I wouldn't believe it if it wasn't confirmed by IMDB.

I love that they put him into this movie, and he just sits there because he's in 2D. 🤣

They’re working on Part Two. It’s coming!! I think this summer/fall? I can’t wait either! Oh and Don’t forget in “bad” Miles world their spider was taken to “good” Miles world. So “bad” Miles world never had a SPIDER-MAN. No hero to save the day, Miles’ dad was killed in the line of duty and all that was left was the influence of Uncle Aaron in a world with no hero to save them. You can totally see how Miles would have gone “bad” & become The Prowler!!

It begs the question though. Wheres The Avengers or any of the street level hero's like Daredevil or The Punisher? Or even S.H.I.E.L.D trying to keep the peace in New York City. Every Web Swinger introduced in this film exists within a larger Marvel Universe. Maybe that's why the sequel is called "Beyond the Spider-Verse" well be seeing allies of Spider-Man.

I wouldn't hold your breath on the next movie being out that soon. As I understand it, it's more likely that they're hoping it will be out before the end of 2025.

I really enjoy watching your channel, your ability to absorb yourself in a movie and see all the Amazing nuances that it takes to make a quality film. This movie is not for me however, I truly enjoyed watching your reaction to it.

Ria Grix

Something Marvel have done pretty well over their history is introduce new young heroes that represent cultural or social life. Peter Parker always had the problem of balancing a normal high school life (then working at The Daily Bugle) and being a super hero. Teenagers Cloak & Dagger tackled drug abuse in the 80s. Prof. X and his school for young people marginalised by society. And Miles is such a good version of Spider-Man that carries on that tradition (as is Gwen)

Is the PIB theater going to be the new norm? I'm going to miss the channel's namesake if so.

Patrick Switzer

Good job Cassie. I like your reactions on this. Look forward to seeing the PIB Theater
