FULL SERIES ON IVORY
------------------------------
Dear Patreons,
I promised you the publication of other series before the next full moon because in all honesty I did not feel like letting you wait for the next publication with so little content. If it is important for me to maintain consistency in terms of quantity, it is even more important to maintain consistency in terms of quality. However, today I have some doubts about my ability to ask myself such questions. I have worked with so many great artists, at a very particular time, that I wonder about the objectivity of my tastes. I have this dear friend with whom I have a deep artistic connection who told me that he feels that the most meaningful works I have been able to collaborate on are those where we come to a spiritual agreement with the photographer. I have to say that not all the photographers I had this deal with were always the most innocent people, and maybe that's what they were looking for most in me. But there is in this mysterious emotional and sensitive marriage a kind of magic that operates, of beauty that cannot be denied. So I thought it was interesting to publish two very different series and to ask your opinion on the subtleties of the choices made in terms of compositions, meanings, depth.
The second series is a series made on the beach of my childhood in Tahiti.
It was the talented Lucille Brunette, then makeup artist on this series, who offered me a collaboration with John Stember, of which I was unaware at the time of his fame made by dint of the iconic photos he had taken of the top model Gia and many other celebrities of her time.
I met him the same day of the shoot and I remember this funny gentleman with a lively and enlightened look, an enigmatic smile which could vary to a grave and acute look when he took the photos, living on his sailboat in this lagoon that I miss so much, as someone very in love with Nature, ecology, raw beauty, without artifice, powerful and delicate at the same time.
I don't usually like strong makeup very much on me but that day my friend Lucille revealed a strength in me by making this choice, a strength that has always been there but which was silent, I still can't say why. Following the choice that John made to title it, I present to you MAYA.
