With the last update being mostly a non-canon event I decided to actually ask a question about it. As I already explained - it is pretty fun for me to write those silly situation that normally wouldn't happen, but it also delays the normal content.

I was wondering what is your approach to this? Do you like them? Do you not like them? Are they okay as long as they are not huge events?

Just make sure to play the previous update first, as it's kinda the main reason I'm doing this poll in the first place.

Speaking for myself- you’re a good writer, and I enjoy what you make whether it advances the main plot or not. You deserve a chance to write silly/fun things every now and then. Thanks for all your hard work!

I do notice I have trouble triggering the Coffee Shop 2022 event properly. I do enjoy this random "side story" events that adds sense of whimsy and humor to already amazing story so far.

I personally don't really need non-canon Events and would rather progress in the main plot but I also don't really mind them if they're fun for you to write then you should definetely go for it

Arkantos Kitsune

They're a very fun and silly addition and I would love to see (if at all possible) Christmas and New Year's Eve events like with Halloween :D (I probably missed some Christmas ones but I forgot) Maybe other silly non-canon events could happen with CGs included where, for example, Korg teaches Bareshade soldiers about defense and attack tactics.

I enjoy non-canon events a lot, no matter the length, but I'd prefer things that are still in canon. So like the addition of the extra gifts we could give to a lot of people was excellent since it let us see different sides of them that are still relevant to the storyline, even if not directly. Don't get me wrong I love the events, but since the updates come out (mostly) monthly I'd rather save those types of events until closer to the completion of the project. Like I'm sure near the end there will be a slow patch for new content since it'll primarily be TLC on the game, quality checks, bug fixes, variant fight scenes, etc, and I think that'd be a great time for non-canon stuff. As of right now there's still so many storylines I'd rather have completed or progressed, but it's not my game so do what works for you I personally enjoy them for a bit, but generally don't find myself replaying them after the initial release - unlike the main story which I have a few different characters going with different play styles.

They’re fun and all… But with just twelve updates per year and many, many unresolved storylines, they might just leave a lot of patreon-backers frustrated. I’m all in favor of keeping them, as long as they don’t hinder story progression too much. If that means making them shorter in favour of adding a bit of progression, that’d be my choice tbh.

Heya. Before delving into the poll at hand, I would like to start by thanking you all. Patrons, illustrators, cowritters, etc, and especially Hyao for creating this epic world and brightening hours of my life every month for a few years now! That's just rare and amazing...! Canon or non-Canon? Well, I don't seem to be able to pick... I prefer Canon, but I love them both and would not want to miss either. And whether they are short events or even larger than what has been done, honestly, doesn't it all depend on the creative juices? I suppose sometimes short will be just right, etc...  I would not like to be the one hindering those juices. My poll answer is therefore the fourth option. Whatever feels right at the time. If I may... I do hope that since we can revisit the non-canon events, which, btw, I love, not only do I hope many others become "revisitable", but they also might offer some non-canon or non-critical integrating consequence, like a mini dialogue change or... up to you... Sounds pretty easy; I have no idea if it is...  Again, thanks so much.

Good content is good content, canon or not.

I think that so long as it is well written having non cannon events is pretty cool, like i could imagine a bernard from an alternate time line who is maybe more of a bandit type personality and you have to stop him from bumping your worlds bennard either by sleeping with him or throwing him back to where he came. a threesome option with both bennards would be hot too

Robert R.

I'd prefer spreading out some bitesized one rather that one massive one. But I've not dislike any of the previous ones.

The side stories are fun and can be a breath of fresh air

SalivaSpittingWorm

The side stories are great. I think it brings the world and the characters to life. :) (Of course, it has nothing to do with the fact that I just love everything you do. Hehe)
