Classy as ever Shy. Loving the ork stuff as usual.

So, being that Orks can't be bothered to die in vacuum because they don't know that they should, can they even drown? I remember how they tried to drink up Serenade's oceans during "the Infinite and the Divine", and I just imagine them being completely submerged and going "Roight, breeve da wet stuff. No prob'm..."

Mark Temple

they absolutely die in vacuum. they just are about as good as space marines at resisting asphyxiation and death from it. so they survive a lot longer in a vacuum than one would expect. the meme that orks 'can't be bothered to die in vacuum' comes from the fact that the orks sometimes don't bother with things like airtight hulls on their ships, instead building giant forcefield things to hold a bubble of air to the hull. (because mekboys are always a throw of the dice as far as what they build) and the fact orks know they're tough, and have little to no fear of dying, so absolutely will do things like unprotected vacuum crossings as part of boarding actions.

I mean... yes, but no? "Infinite and the Divine" also had those Ork Stormboyz board the Necron ships, which Orikan specifically noted were unpressurised in vacuum. Having a prolonged battle in vacuum is more like what Guilliman went through, rather than just Space Marine resilience. I don't think you're wrong, I just think the answer is somewhere in the middle, depending on how much fun any given writer wants to have with it.

Critical Thinking with ork. Your the dumb one.
